I have had the pleasure of dealing with Shipways in Harborne who have professionally handled the sale of my mum’s apartment and dealt with all challenges thrown at them relentlessly through the whole of that arduous process, making certain to keep me informed of all progress along the way and ensuring that completion was done in a timely manner. I want to give a special thanks to Sarah Clarke and Jhynel Cowan who were my main 2 contacts and who made certain that all went as smoothly as possible, relieving me of any unnecessary burden and accommodating me when I was unable to carry on certain tasks due to my special personal circumstances and the distance from my mum’s apartment. Shipways (Great Bar) horrible experience. Advice to anyone renting with them becareful of the agreement your signing. Its best to get someone legal to look at your tenancy agreement. I made the mistake and signed quickly trying to comply with the agent as I thought he was being genuine, he just wanted to rent the property to get his commission. Do not complain about anything that needs repairing in the property, they rather evict you than fully comply if they think your making to many complaints. I was served with a section 21, no arrears but becasue i complained and they had to spend the money to rectify the issues. There is no rights for private tenants. When people have the upper hand, they play around with people's lives and don't give a second thought of the impact. I would never ever recommend this company to anyone. If you do use them be very aware.

Shipways viewing cancellations!

If I could of left this review without any stars I would of. A property up for sale 6 months ago, then reduced so booked a viewing - Shipways cancelled via email whilst we waited outside to view on the day - they blamed the owners. Months later the property was reduced again, so we booked a viewing again only to get a call on day of viewing to cancel the appointment due to a few offers on the table. Again the owners were blamed, but if any viewing had already been arranged, it would of been common courtesy to allow other prospective buyers to view the property. I will not trust Shipways ever again as feel far too let down.

We had a disappointing experience with this agency and feel compelled to share our concerns. We raised serious issues about a property's non-standard construction on 21/07/2025, which the agent confirmed. Despite informing them clearly, both verbally and in writing, that we would not proceed with the property, they continued to process a property search after we had withdrawn and even after we had informed them that we had found another property. Their listing for the original property was misleading, as it omitted key information (non-standard construction) that other agents routinely disclose. When we challenged this, they admitted they had this information all along. We were also told, during a recorded call on 18/07/2025, that the £399 solicitor fee was on a "No Sale, No Fee" basis and transferable to another property. However, when we requested a transfer after withdrawing, we were refused, despite this agreement. As we were no longer using their recommended solicitor, we had no choice but to request a refund, which has not yet been resolved. Overall, the lack of transparency and poor customer service left us frustrated and disappointed. We cannot recommend this agency based on our experience. Ejikeme
