I know this is one of the biggest agencies in town, so you may be unable to avoid using it, but people have the right to know what they have done to the tenants. They are deducting fees for ridiculous reasons from my deposit anyway, so I will tell the truth. First of all, they are letting properties with issues. The flat I was renting had a terrible air circulation system and was a mouldy property. I tried my best to remove any new mould but could not stop them from growing. Since I gave my notice to move out, I experienced awfully-managed viewings, which disrupted my everyday life and had people coming to view without notice. Last but not least, Martin & Co and their inventory company found excuses to deduct the cleaning fee from my deposit, even if the flat itself was in a way better and cleaner condition than when I moved in. When I checked and compared my move-in and move-out inventory, I discovered that they purposefully avoided taking photos of the items in poor condition and blamed me for all the damaged and missing items. I used many letting agencies and I paid for professional cleaning services every time (so as this time). With other agencies, all they said was how nicely I have kept the property in good condition. But things are rather different in Martins & Co's case. Martins & Co. listed many items that should have been considered qualified as fair wear and tear of any kind of natural residence. However, Martins & Co. still required me to pay a cleaning fee, even if the professional cleaner I hired has already cleaned the property thoroughly. I have every reason to believe that it is Martins & Co. ‘s intention to make up reasons so they can deduct from my deposit. So, be careful with the inventories; they are full of traps. And if you have other agencies as options, go for another one.

GooglePoor service. My daughter and grandchildren were left locked out of their apartment in the early hours on 09/04/2023 with no assistance or care for their safety and wellbeing. The children’s Easter Day ruined. They were traumatised by not being able to get into their own home/beds. I’m disgusted that they can treat paying tenants this way, who have children, who are both under the age of 10 years old. This is just one of the long issues my daughter has with this so called “good” estate agents. I will be taking the matter further.

Very disappointed with how we were dealt with by these guys. We enquired about viewing a property on a Wednesday morning and were told Saturday afternoon was the nearest available date to view the property. Having rearranged plans to make this viewing, it was then cancelled on Saturday morning. Following them saying they’d call me back with a viewing but what actually resulted in me chasing them, they offered us another viewing a few days away. We mentioned how we were keen on the house and happy to pay a deposit, to which they said we had to view the house, something I’ve never heard of an estate agents doing before. Then one day before our next viewing they told us the property had been reserved. Extremely unprofessional and unhelpful, especially when the market for renters is so tough at the moment.

I am still waiting to be contacted regarding a property that I was told was available and in general I have let from the Harbourne Branch before and it was the worst year of my life. Don't let from them and check the reviews for the company page >

I've been working with Martin & Co in the past 6 months from finding tenants, referencing, setting up rent and legal insurance cover with RightMove. My general feedback about Martin & Co is Five Stars. Tenants finding, tenancy agreement and inventory check-in process were smooth with no unexpected surprise wirh competitive offers on rental terms and conditions, lettings management agents who are taking care of my propert at the moment are always responsive and helpful in every aspect. Actions are always being taken in time, sometimes faster than I ever imagined. Martin & Co service standard and quality exceed my expectation when compared to other agents I hired.
