Hunters is a joke

I have had experience with Hunters in the past on multiple occasions. I am disappointed everytime from their lack of felixibility. For example if you're trying to rent and your annual income matches but does not excees what is expected by Hunters then they will abruptly cut you off. Also horrible customer service by the staff and do not know what they are doing. On a flat i called twice one staff member told me i had to satisfy an income of 29.000 pounds and another staff member told me i had to exceed 30.000 wich makes me doubt their honesty. I have had much better experiences with other agencies. Do not reccomend.

I can't find the words to express my deep disappointment and dissatisfaction for Hunters estate services. I had arranged to rent an apartment, have paid the deposit 5weeks ago and was told to wait for the tenancy agreement documents. Despite being reassured by Ellie that everything is alright I found out two days ago, after multiple emails and calls,in which they wouldn't respond or would not provide any information, that the apartment is no longer available for letting. Very unprofessional and rude attitude, not even bother to apologise or send me a confirmation email of the cancellation. Still haven't got the refund of the deposit although they've cancelled my letting a week ago without contacting me: no email, no calls,no post,no messages on mailbox. Something really dodgy is probably happening here,requiring legal action. I could only suggest you to stay away from this estate agency.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

After two disastrous attempts of selling the house with two local estate agents, Hunters stepped in and secured a sale, overseeing it throughout the sale process from start to finish, taking the pressure off and saved the day. Andy and Jake are thoroughly professional in their approach and kept us informed at all stages through to completion, liaising with solicitors on our behalf. Unlike our experience of other unprofessional estate agents who lost interest as soon as they secured a sale and left us frustratingly in the dark, Hunters in Harborne have the personal touch and have a proven track record with my family and I, having sold 4 houses for us in the past 5 years effortlessly. We can highly recommend them.

An unfortunate attitude from Hunters

My boyfriend and I were purchasing a property through Hunters and they were pleasant enough. However, when we received the results of the independent survey two months down the line, it highlighted what we considered to be significant problems with the property, particularly the necessity of a whole new roof, and the replacement of brickwork.Naturally, we had not - and could not have - factored in the cost of these repairs, or the time it would take to carry them out, so we emailed our contact at Hunters in Sunderland, simply outlining the issues that the survey had presented, and attaching the report in full. The reply we received explained ‘The seller is not under any obligation to carry out any work or offer a reduction’. While true, this attitude seemed hostile to us, and rather unprofessional. We did not mention a negotiation of price, or the current owners carrying out the work themselves - although, to be frank, these did not seem unreasonable expectations.We had misgivings about how considerable an undertaking the repairs would be, both financially and physically, but were open to discussing options with Hunters/the sellers. However, we decided to withdraw from the sale, and Hunters’ attitude did play a big part in that. As a prospective buyer, you do not have a choice over which estate agent to deal with, but I would certainly be reticent about purchasing a property sold by Hunters in the future, and would strongly advise sellers to consider the overwhelmingly negative reviews on this page before engaging Hunters, as the wrong estate agent could scupper a sale, as in this case.

Dishonest and unprofessional

We drove over 250 miles to view a house listed for let @ £900. We said we like it and were happy to proceed, after all similar properties down south cost £1000 a month….We were absolutely shocked when they got back to us, offering us the house for £1000 because they knew we could afford it… we were aghast! I have never ever encountered such skullduggery and dishonesty…. Of course we declined… how can one deal with such a dishonest estate agent as these!

Hunters Horncastle:If you are looking for an EA who keeps you updated and informed then I would NOT use Hunters, if you want the privilege of paying for doing your own work then by all means use this EA, also if you want to feel as though the EA is acting on behalf of the buyer instead of the seller… this is the one for you!!! They say the right things to get the initial business and then offer bad advise and never any follow up or conversations about the state of the market during contract period, even when requested. Also emails and WA messages were ignored. Worst Estate Agent I’ve ever used. It seems that Katherine (who did the viewings) and Susan (admin) seem to hold them just above water and do all the donkey work. Just my honest opinion!! Would have given zero rating if possible

I was buying a house through hunters

I was buying a house through hunters, wasn’t the best experience in the world. When it came to getting the keys from the bishop Auckland office, I was told to wait outside in the cold for 15 minutes, then presented with 1 key by itself, there was no congrats on your first home or any welcome gifts or anything, just here’s your key, see you later 👍🏼😂 got into the house, it wasn’t clean, the kitchen had been flooded which warped all the kitchen floor which I then had to pay to get it sorted. They should have done a check once the owners were out the house in order to make sure it was in a fit state and as seen on the viewings. I’ve since rented out houses around that area and stayed well clear of hunters, I would never use them again after the experience I had with them.

This is the best estate agency to work with. Found myself a nice home because of the professional and unbiased attitude of the agent that facilitated the visit. He listened to me carefully, provided expert advice and went the extra mile in making the landlord consider us as tenants. Communication was efficient and to the point, no question remained unanswered, all my queries were presented to the landlord and this led quickly to a no-hassle 24 month contract. Compared to other agencies that went from not showing up for viewings to turning hostile when being told that there are going to be pets, Hunters is doing exemplary work. Can't recommend them enough!
