DERBY BRANCH MORTGAGE ADVISOR A.P WORST EXPERIENCE THE 1ST TIME WENT OK WASNT GREAT TRY TO MAKE YOU SIGN UP TO THINGS THAT ARE UNNECESSARY. Went to buy my 2nd home and because of the abizmel communication lost out on it 3x..... because of slow service not responding to emails and forever chasing them to do their job. never get a xall bsck when promised and then to add salt to injury she doesn't take accountability for her neglengence. NEVER WILL I USE HER AGAIN!!! I made it very clear that her service was appalling they claw money out of you to do very little work. I came on trust pilot to leave a negative review which she is aware of me doing so I don't think she'll be surprised hearing about this... only to be unsurprised by alot of other people's negative reviews. I had to ask if she's over worked because clearly can't keep the pace. made me lose out and still took my money to do very little. you mayaswell find a private mortgage advisor which I have done now and has suited me thus far...useless is an understatement..... try to blame you for their appointments theyve made and missed. she's lucky I never put her name on blast. but stear clear DERBY BRANCH INTIALS A.P

AFTERSALES TEAM IS HORRENDOUS!!! AVOID

All my dealings have been with the Tamworth branch and after a promising start I have been left INCREDIBLY disappointed. The start of the process, we dealt with Chris who is EXCEPTIONAL and quite frankly the ONLY reason we went with Burchell Edwards after getting 4 different agents in to value our property and quote for services. Chris is very professional & knowledgeable, nothing is too much trouble and he was fantastic when performing the viewings, hence the 1st star I have given. The second star is for John Wasim, the negotiator that agreed the sale with our buyers. Again very professional and polite and ALWAYS called me back with updates etc. Unfortunately, as soon as the sale was agreed, it has all gone drastically downhill and completely ruined any chance of me ever going with BE again!When Chris valued my house and quoted for services, part of the pitch is that there is a 5 strong team of after sales experts, who will oversee the sale and keep us updated/do all the chasing etc. It was for this reason that we were satisfied with paying what was actually the MOST EXPENSIVE agent fees out of all the quotes we received, because we believed that we would receive a service worthy of the increased cost, taking into account the whole after sale experience we were told to expect. Unfortunately, there has been NO AFTER SALE support whatsoever!!!!! I never heard a peep for around 3 weeks after I accepted our buyers offer, despite sending around 3 or 4 emails to the Tamworth office. I then received a really feeble excuse that their computer system had some sort of glitch, which caused the lack of reply - IMPOSSIBLE CONSIDERING I SENT MY EMAILS TO MULTIPLE EMAIL ADDRESSES AT THE BRANCH, including John's who had always received and replied promptly, prior to passing the file over to the after sales team. So this was clearly a lie. After that, I received NO proactive updates, no evidence that BE were chasing the solicitors or paying any attention AT ALL to my sale, so I was forced to keep chasing them to take action. I am not exaggerating when i say EVERY, SINGLE, EMAIL I HAVE SENT has been ignored, until I followed up with a snotty email complaining about the lack of response. Our buyers solicitors are being a nightmare and BE have done nothing to help me speed them up, instead they've made up silly excuses to allow their ineptitude to continue without challenge. It has now been around 15 weeks since we accepted our offer and BE have done NOTHING to expedite the sale. I will never, ever use them again and have requested details as to how I can make a formal complaint. I expected to receive a discount of 50% of my fee, considering I have only received 50% of the service I was promised!!!!!! My fee is £2400 in total, extortionate considering all that has paid for is a few photos, some 5/10 minute viewings and nothing else! so angry.

I've spoken to several lettings agents over the past 2 weeks as I've been seriously searching for a place to rent, but none has been this nice to me on first contact. Rude estate agent!

Honestly will never buy through these as I've been put off for life. I genuinely feel because I'm a first time buyer the estate agent felt that they could bully and push me into signing up to things I didn't need. All I wanted was a viewing on a property but was instead given basically life advice I didn't want or need. I had explained I already have a mortgage advisor and a mortgage in principle but was consistently pushed and bullied into signing up for their mortgage services. Came off the phone and instantly blocked their number because I was so upset and fuming at how rude I had been spoken to. Wouldn't buy a house from them now even if they paid me to.

I started house hunting sometime in June 2020 and was so fortunate to be assigned Kelly at Castle Bromwich branch. From the very beginning she was so supportive, always letting me know when there were houses that met our budget and taste available and what won my heart was her tenacity and determination to find us our perfect home.She was so patient with my mom who was very picky on a budget and was always one call away, even updating me with information others wouldn't have bothered to. Also she always booked me in for viewings at my convenience, not once rescheduling or having excuses for all the times I requested.I have collected the keys to my new home which Kelly saw and knew was the right fit for my family. Every timeline she gave was accurate and she supported us through till the very end, which is today, when we got the keys to our new home!Thank you Kelly! Your effort is much appreciated and I will continually refer as many people as I can to Burchell Edwards due to the exceptional customer service you rendered towards our purchase!

The service provided by Lucy and team at the Mansfield branch has been superb from start to finish. I really have no complaints in the way they have dealt with our sale that spanned the 1st lockdown. Communication has been excellent with all viewings well communicated to me and feedback passed on very quickly. All offers received were confirmed verbally and in writing.Lucy and the team provide a good reliable, friendly service, communication within the branch is excellent, if Lucy was out of the office someone within the team always knew what was happening.Even when Conveyancing direct started failing on us the team worked tirelessly in the background to keep things moving, my review of Conveyancing direct will be posted shortly but in short use Burchell Edwards but not Conveyancing direct.

Landlord says you don't need boiler

We were told if we wanted to rent we had to move in within 4 days, we were not allowed to give any notice for the property we are currently in. So we had to take the keys on a monday evening, then couldn't actually see the property until the weekend. The boiler doesn't work, the ceiling in the kitchen is so damp it has fallen through, the kitchen units are damp, the only electrics are the lights and shower, the cooker is unusable. Both Burchell and the landlord have said we don't require a boiler and we don't require electrics to move in, in October. One comment we thought was rather exceptional was "if it was your house you would still have to pay the mortgage, so you still need to pay the rent, even if you can't live there". I've rented for 22 years up and down the country, Burchell Edwards is by far and away the worst experience i have had.

The worst agent possible. DO NOT use this agency.Overpriced compared to all local agents, they fixed their price off of an inflated price (confirmed by other agents and RICS afterward).Took 2 weeks to get 4 viewings, no offers.No further viewings in 3 months despite lowering our price.Most importantly they tie you into 3 month exlusivity contract, compared to 1 month elsewhere.Worst of all 90% of the time i called them, no-one answered, and most of the time voicemail full. If that happens to me the vendor, imagine how difficult it is for potential viewers.

Do NOT waste your time

Having taken all my details (enough to clone me) I was told a member of staff was on holiday and I would have to take another hour giving my information again. Then that person left I was passed onto a third member. All 3 of them left the company, my concern is that clearly they could take my information. How in the modern world is this possible? Then to be told by the third person they charged for this service. Incredible.

Someone came over to value our house approx two weeks ago. He told us that he'd get back to us with the full report via email asap. My dad has called them several times to ask where this report is, and he's been fobbed off with excuses every time he's called as to why the guy can't come to the phone. Awful company to deal with. Won't be using them again!!!!

DO NOT USE FOR LETTINGS!!!Absolutely rubbish constant changing of staff. No checks done properly, just constant lies about everything. No support whatsoever I was constantly having to chase them, never answered there phone for the two years the fully managed my property which was always left in a state because checks were not done. I still have letters from utility bills coming to me from last year because the agent didn't bother to pass them on. This was fully managed! Could do a better job on my own especially when all they were interested in was raising the fee I paid. Good riddance to them so glad I'm with a better agent.

Avoid the Tamworth branch if you are…

Avoid the Tamworth branch if you are thinking of selling your house!They tie you in to a six month contract, they then don’t have any motivation to sell your house. They will not release you from the contract early and the only way to stop the company selling your house is to send them a two week notice to take your house off the market! Then have to wait till your six months is up to try sell your house with some one else… Thanks for nothing Burchell Edward’s

Biggest nightmare of a company

Biggest nightmare of a company ! Don’t know where to start! Everything from the lettings to the selling side are horrific ! Would never advise any landlord to let with this company and definitely not get them managed by them ! Never check the property , never chase any arrears ! Make sure you check references of tenants as they actually said they got rid of my terrible tenants by saying they were perfect tenants ! ‘L’ word comes into mind of what they are ! I could write a book on issues I had with them ! Never again ! I d really rate them a 0!

Worse Agency I have EVER DEALT WITH! Do not go anywhere near them! It would take me 4 months to list the errors, the unprofessional RUDE staff!
