TrustpilotFantastic Broadstairs Branch
We have just literally exchanged and complete on our bungalow next week through Miles & Barr, Broadstairs. Donna Bogard and Charlotte Silk were just amazing. They looked after us through the whole transaction. They were friendly, professional and so helpful if I had any queries. They were so supportive all the way through, I can't thank them enough for making this a smooth purchase. I would highly recommend buying your property through the Broadstairs branch and definitely talk to Donna and Charlotte as they will look after you.

TrustpilotGreat service from Miles & Barr Ramsgate
We used Miles & Barr Ramsgate for the selling of our old house and the buying of the new one. Our Sales Progressor Becky White was fantastic. She always kept us updated, was assisting us when we wasn't sure of the next steps and even checked her emails for us on her day off because she knew it was our exchange date and she wanted to ensure it went through Ok! she always called us or emailed us back and was really caring about the progression of our chain. The mortgage advisor Aggi from the Ramsgate branch was also really helpful, knowledgeable and great to get along with!Charisma & Simon

TrustpilotShocking complacency and incompetence
Goes back to November when I accepted an offer for my house from a company that it turns out wasn't even formed yet.Progression 'team' did nothing until mid January. Jodie Winch seems to be the entirety of the 'progression' team. Utterly unfit for purpose. Acknowledged communication failures..... nothing heard for another month. Nothing changed. All the chain worked towards (and were ready as agreed) the end of March..... not Miles and Barr. No communication, no checks that this was a viable buyer, no due diligence. It appears that their mortgage wasn't applied for until mid Feb !!!Drifted to end of first stamp duty holiday. Nothing happened. Buyer is now clearly totally unwilling to complete the sale. Drifted towards second stamp duty holiday. Nothing happened. Whole chain eventually collapsed. Incompetence, lack of communication, apathy, no due diligence, acknowledged failures not corrected, un-interested management.Shocking, upsetting experience and the end of my mums' dream move. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

TrustpilotProfessional service , diligently executed.
Emily has been my contact at Miles and Barr. I was buying my next property through them. I have received excellent professional service with good communication and support when it was needed. My sale was in a long chain and Emily chased right back to the beginning and kept me up to date with progress. She was honest about progress unlike some others I was dealing with. She checked in with me regularly and responded quickly when I contacted her. I would use Miles and Barr again.

TrustpilotDishonest Estate Agent
Our daughter recently purchased a property in Broadstairs having been told by Lisa the faulty boiler had been fixed. When our daughter entered the property the boiler was still faulty. Now M & B deny any responsibility. We are still to receive a response in writing to our complaint and they never return phone calls. Very unprofessional and dishonest estate agent

Dear Paul,Thank you for your time in writing a review. I am sorry to hear that your daughter is still unhappy with the situation. Your daughter emailed me last night acknowledging she has received my calls and voicemails where I have been trying to help and support her with the boiler showing a fault code. Unfortunately I never received any calls back from her and her email last night was the only written form of communication we have had from her expressing she received my attempts to make contact with her but still had her concerns over the boiler. I responded to her email outside of my working hours a few hours later as I want to help her as best I can. After researching what the fault was and the likely reasons for this fault, I wanted to ensure that the gas had been turned back on and the boiler re ignited or re set as a first port of call before advising to call a gas engineer, purely as the fault was most common when gas and electricity has been turned off, as it had been in this property which was unoccupied.I pride myself on being honest and transparent. I always maintain that neither I nor any estate agent can give assurances that appliances or services in a property are safe or in working order as estate agents do not test these. This has to be left to those who are qualified and a relevant certificate produced to evidence this. I am saddened that your daughter felt I assured her the boiler was fine or fixed. My actions show otherwise as when the survey suggested the boiler didn’t work (the gas and electric was turned off at the time) and that the electrics didn’t meet the latest regulations, I advised your daughter to get gas safe engineers and electricians round to inspect them on her behalf. I supplied several phone numbers and contacts and advised her to source her own contractors as well so she had people that were impartial. As an office, the Broadstairs team facilitated many accompanied visits to the house for her to allow numerous electricians and gas engineers inspect the services on her behalf for her own peace of mind. The owner also took the liberty of instructing a gas engineer to inspect and service the boiler in May. A gas safety certificate was subsequently produced by a qualified gas engineer as a result of the inspection that showed no faults , no advisories and a passed gas safety. A copy of this certificate was sent to your daughter by myself and I advised her to also get copies of all the previous gas safety certificates and service records that were held with her solicitor having been passed to them by the owners solicitor so she could see these for herself. Following this gas safety certificate being produced your daughter still took further contractors round to inspect the services. I am disappointed for your daughter that there is a fault showing on the boiler and I have genuinely wanted to speak to her to help her by sharing what I have ascertained by researching the fault code but as I have not had my calls returned there is only so much I can do other than to signpost her to instruct a gas engineer to diagnose the fault if she has tried my suggestions and then to speak to her solicitor who can advise her from a legal point of view whether this would be a matter under contract law.Wishing you and your daughter all the bestLisa, Miles and Barr

GoogleMatt Brisley at Birchington was absolutely fantastic when we used Miles and Barr recently. He's a local chap, so very knowledgeable about the area. He was really responsive, keep us regularly updated and we'd thoroughly recommend him and Miles and Barr to anyone thinking of selling.

The staff were through and ensured my case was dealt with efficiently. The staff were always friendly and answered any questions I felt needed to be asked. Moving is an overwhelming process but the staff made sure the process remained simple and made it clear what exactly needed to be done step-by-step to ensure a successful move. Overall I was very happy with the service provided and the staff should be commended for their dedication and patience.

Excellent service from all of the staff at Miles & Barr Ramsgate who were originally just assisting me with finding a new home. At the last moment I changed to them also for selling my property and within days it had sold. A massive thank you to James, Giuseppe, Jack, Rebecca, Charlotte, Anne-Marie and George. They really are the most knowledgeable agents regarding properties in Ramsgate. Always treating you as if you are their only client with regards to needs and requirements.I think fees are very fair. I went to another agent originally where you have to pay fees upfront if you do not use their recommended solicitors. I lost that money but so happy that I went to a professional agents in the end

TrustpilotStrange experience with this agent
Strange experience with this agent. We kept being told that viewers really wanted our house & then were offered a fraction of the asking price. They sent round a lot of viewers one of which offered 1/10th the asking price! Such a waste of our time. There was then a big gap with no viewings. A person then came round - offered 100K below asking & said they were a cash buyer. I did begin to wonder whether some kind of scam was in operation. We eventually took the house off the market & won't ever be going back to M&B

We both bought and sold a property with Miles and Barr, downsizing from a four-bedroom semi to a two-bedroom bungalow in the next street. The staff at Miles and Barr were knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole process, in particular Rebecca Gravener who was the progress chaser and saw everything to a successful conclusion.

TrustpilotAppalling and shocking Estate Agent…DO NOT USE
Appalling and shocking Estate Agent that should not be in business and should be closed down. I cannot begin to describe the awful service provided by this estate agent. They never act in the owners behalf and carry out illegal practices, such as releasing a deposit to tenants before they have ended tenancy and check out is completed -which is breach of contract! Throughout the whole experience they have never acted in my interests and have always gone against what I have asked, despite me being a loyal customer for over 10 years. They are condescending, rude and no help whatsoever always belittling me on the phone, making me sound like my requests were stupid and that they were not going to complete these for me. Please read all these reviews before instructing them - we all cannot be wrong!!!!! They have caused me untold stress in an already stressful situation with a nightmare tenant that they RECOMMENDED to me and pushed for the tenancy. Please please do your research on these 'cowboy' agents.

We are very disappointed to read your review and we are sorry to hear you feel our service didn't meet your expectations. However, we do not think that it is a fair reflection of the events and our service. You had a sale and your tenant refused to move out which meant you lost your sale. We carried on trying to find the tenant a property to save you the cost and time of going to court. We eventually found the tenant a property and the day before she was due to move she advised she wasn’t able to get a deposit for her new property. We advised that you had a choice in either to gain possession of your property quickly then it might be in your best interest to release the deposit held on your property, to enable the tenants to move out. The other choice we gave was for you to start possession proceedings and regain possession of your property in 4-6 months time. As speed was of the essence, you chose the option of releasing the deposit, meaning the tenant vacated. Subsequently, the tenant has not left the property in the best condition and has taken an appliance. We are sorry that you feel this way but we felt it only fair to give you the options and advice on both scenarios and ultimately let you make the choice that would best suit your circumstances. We do not recall you advising at any point over the years of management that you were disappointed in our service. We do understand how disappointing it is to find the tenant left the property in such a condition.

ALL of the team at the Birchington branch were really great, but a special mention goes to Debbie Mead for getting us through the sale process in one piece! It was a rollercoaster ride but Debbie’s dedication to supporting/keeping us informed, and on track, was outstanding. It’s clear Debbie really cares. Thank you all team Birchington!

TrustpilotPoor customer service
My first time dealing with a property company and it was not the best experience. I was looking to relocate to England, contacted them and made them aware that I am in Scotland so I would prefer a video viewing. However, I was strongly advised against it and was told by a member of staff that it was "unusual for us to let a property without a viewing". Fine, we arranged a viewing the following week. There were multiple confirmations, even one a day before the viewing was supposed to take place. Bearing in mind, I travelled more than 700MILES for a viewing, that was how sincere I was. I got a phone call on the day the viewing was supposed to take place, saying that the property was rented out. A short apology over the phone but there was no other recommendations as to what they could offer while I was there. I was really angry having spent hundreds on my travel and accommodation for nothing. Very irresponsible of them I would say. Does not have to take a first timer to know that this kind of service is unacceptable.

TrustpilotBuying our first home through Miles & Barr
We brought our first home through Miles & Barr Cliftonville, we always found the staff to be friendly & helpful. Whilst arranging viewings staff were very good at finding houses to match our needs as a family. All the staff at Cliftonville office were extremely helpful especially Alice Fridd & the manager Joe Bull. Our review is mainly based on Louise Daly our sales progressor. Louise went above & beyond to help & guide us through the whole process. Due to Covid-19 our sale went over the normal timescales & Louise was amazing throughout the whole process. Louise always replied promptly to my emails & was there to reassure me when it felt like we would never exchange. I am so grateful to Louise for everything she has done for us since our offer was accepted on our first house on February 1st, It is now the end of August & we are finally in our new home!!

The team at Miles and Barr made a real difference in our experience of selling our property. Our main point of contact, Louise Daly, is a star. Her professionalism, expertise, and communication skills shone through in smoothing out what might otherwise have been a difficult process. In particular, regular updates were very helpful in progressing the sale.
