RR advised they couldn’t contact the branch. We took matters into our own hands and contacted St Helens and advised them of the situation and could we come in to scan passports which they agreed…Why are we doing all the running around when paying RR to act dopey and do nothing….There is a fantastic university I’d Durham so why do they have to employ morons in RR Durham…Surely there must be students looking for part-time work!!!!Worse estate agents ever used

As you can imagine the process can be quite nail biting but his quick responses and helpful manner made buying stress free. I would definitely recommend your service to anyone.

Don’t touch with a barge pole!!

Truly awful experience…so unprofessional. Total lack of communication. On completion day, went to drop keys in and office was all locked up! We had been in a few days before to make sure of arrangements and were told there would be someone in their office at all times on completion day. Eventually Luke arrived - he had been for lunch, but there was no-one to cover…unbelievable on a Friday, the most popular day of the week for moving house. Whoever is the manager in Chester needs to realise that we are paying good money for a service, when it shouldn’t be unreasonable to expect someone to actually be on the premises to receive keys from their customers. It gets worse…our buyer went later to collect the keys and the shop was locked up again! It’s 5:30pm now and they still haven’t been able to get the keys. No phone calls to either ourselves or our buyers before hand to explain what was going on - we had to do all the chasing to find out why we were being let down. Begs the question ‘what are we paying for?’ Please avoid this Estate Agent.

Dreadful staff and experience. Took a deposit of over £200 to apply for a rental property. Staff member Caroline was rude and aggressive on the phone when she suggested we hadn't completed our application in a timely manner, even though the delay and problem was with the checking agent they use, and then refused to return the deposit when the application was turned down due to adverse credit, which we had declared.They prey on people desperate to find a home. Absolute shysters - stay away from them at all costs. They will find some reason to retain your deposit at the very time you can ill afford to lose it.Update 12/10/24I was promised a refund minus a £50 ‘admin fee’ by the Glossop branch manager, which I accepted on the basis that I’d at least recoup some of the money they took. However it’s been over 10 days, and I have received neither the refund nor any update about when to expect it. Dealing with them is a degrading and disheartening experience.

I am an American moving to Belfast to study, and I went through Reeds Rains to secure housing for the year. Just as I was about to lose faith in my ability to find a private apartment, Reeds Rains came along and totally set me up. It was about two weeks between the time that I registered interest in the apartment, viewed it, submitted my application, and was accepted by the landlord. Now, I live in a wonderful space in a great neighborhood with easy access to restaurants, bars, and, of course, school. I have to give Naoimh a particular shoutout because she facilitated everything. In a process that can feel very frustrating and alienating, Naoimh added a personal touch that made it all more approachable and less daunting. Naoimh was very responsive when I first registered interest and has since continued to respond within hours to any questions I have raised. Absolutely diabolical service from inept, defensive staff. There seems to be a high turnover of staff in the Hebden Bridge branch, with poor handovers and often the left hand not knowing what the right is doing. They contradict information given between solicitors, and vendors, cause undue stress and delays, go back on the comments they make when challenged, and have taken over 15 months to sell a house that has had a buyer waiting to complete since the first offer.I would strongly recommend that if you want to efficiently buy or sell a property that you look elsewhere. This service has been SO poor that I have advised a friend to not even consider buying the house they are currently interested in as it is only being advertised by Reeds Reins Hebden Bridge and I would not wish this service on anyone else. Edit in respone to Reeds Reins Reply:Whoops- just to evidence their incompetence they don't even seem to know the house completed and I moved in 10 days ago! Way to tell on yourself 😅Yes, my house sale fell through because of delays with your sale, thats precisely my point. I had a cash buying landlady waiting to go and when I was still waiting on basic paperwork and relying on mixed messages from yourselves 7 months in she understandbly bailed. I then cancelled my second sale to a cash buying company which I rushed through in order to save the chain having received alot of pressure to rush once you told me you seller was ready, only then to be told by a different staff member they were 'no where near ready', of course I'm not going to take £30k less than I need to if you had further delays. Having met the branch manager the day I completed, as he had to drop my keys here at the end of office hours as no one called to confirm they had them as I was informed they would, knowing I was moving from another city, I can see why there is such a high turn over of apathetic seemingly clueless office staff, if he is at the helm,my removal man couldn't have summed it up better when he described him as the C word. (Side note if you value safety just be aware he also handed me the keys without even asking my name let alone asking to see ID.)Terrible terrible service, steer well clear at all costs.Positive shout out to Emily who does the weekend vieweings, the only competent person there.

Where to start. We used Reeds Rains to rent out our house while we lived abroad for 4 years. We were told the house was kept "immaculate". The tenant left as we were moving back and the house was shocking. There were so many issues I can't even list them all. We left a vintage drinks cabinet that the tenant asked to remove, we said yes as long as its stored safely. 4 years later, my Mum was doing the walk around and asked where it was and the agent told her oh its just outside (obviously she knew where it had been stored). Completely rotten and falling apart. The house was filthy and I had to get it deep cleaned, several companies quoted it at £900+. Carpets needed replaced. Junk needed removed (old bikes, vacuum, bags and bags of rubbish etc). The tenant wouldn't release the deposit and the agent was not on our side. She told us it was unlikely we would get the full deposit back and didnt fight our corner at all, until I told her we would be taking her up for the full cost of all the damages (hundreds over the full deposit). Eventually we got the deposit back but it didnt scratch the surface of our costs. Horrifying. Would not recommend.

very very unpleasent interraction, delaying the return of my deposit for no reason. Made me pay extra day of rent for making me return the keys in an office outside the city.... Now just holding my money without reason and kept telling me, we will sort it, we will sort it. Honestly I never heard of, or saw, a worse agent!!!
