About Martin & Co Bedford
We specialise in sales, property management and residential lettings, mortgage advice, and cover a wide geographical area including the villages and suburbs between Bedford and the M1. We're proud to have been serving the Bedford area since the year 2000, offering a wide range of properties for sale and to rent, not only in Bedford but also in Kempston, Wootton, Ampthill and Flitwick. Owners and Bedford residents Shahid Miah and Habib Rahman bring years of experience in retail banking and property management. Our main areas of business are residential sales, lettings and property management, property investment and mortgage advice. The office is located on St Loyes Street in the heart of the town centre and just a short walk from the train station. At Martin & Co Bedford we pride ourselves on our high level of customer service. Our team provide our customers with support, advice throughout the whole process with a dedicated point of contact and regular property updates on the sale or let of your home. We recently won The British Property Lettings Award for Bedford. The team performed outstandingly throughout the extensive judging period, which focused on customer service levels. Martin & Co Bedford has now been shortlisted for a number of national awards which will be announced shortly. In 2021, Martin & Co Bedford acquired local independent businesses Compass Lettings and Gateway Lettings adding to their already extensive portfolio of properties. First they inflated the advertised price for a rented property claiming another party offered more (we later discovered there was no such offer as they let it slip in conversation). Next they forgot to mention not all the white goods were included with the property. Finally though, when I contacted them about issues involving a faulty bathroom flush, radiators not heating properly, a rusty unusable dishwasher (from the inside) and a musty damp smell coming from the room my 3 year old son was sleeping in, I was told the property was rented on a 'as seen basis', so they weren't really obliged to do anything... After pushing them they agreed to look into it. It's been a month and nothing has been fixed yet. I'm chasing contractors myself who keep saying they're getting stonewalled by the estate agents. Appalling service.

GoogleWe had this agency for 2 years. Unprofessional staff, booking appointments for gas certificate more than 3 times, engineer never arrived but we had to make cancel our plans for them and when I tried to explain is not convenient for us one appointment , Yasmin answer was "well we have the keys,we will go inside without your attendance" ...and we asked to have tenant witness on our application for every viewing or appointments. Avoid this agency, completely unprofessional!!!!

GoogleI initially called the office seeking some advice as I was having troubles with a tenant. I spoke to another agency before calling Martin & Co but no one seemed interested in helping. When I called this office I was passed through to Charlotte, and she took the time to listen and talked me through what options I have. She was really understanding and was able to answer any questions I had. Although the problems I had seemed never ending, she was always there and willing to help. She certainly knew her stuff and we now have fantastic new tenants and Martin & Co are our new managing agents. Highly recommend 5*

GoogleMartin & Co have been the most professional estate agents I have used. I sold my property via M&C and from day one their attention to detail, prompt communication and efficiency was noticeable. I was kept very well informed on the progress of my sale and every query was answered with care and interest, this lead to a pain free sale and they also achieved a sale above my asking price. I will be recommending Martin & Co to any friend who needs an estate agent

These are quite possibly the worst agents around. We were left without electricity for 3 days, hot water/ heating for 7 days and water for 2 days. They said just go to your friends house then, then they tried to take 75% of our deposit when we moved out. They are very shifty. Always check their extra charges and photograph everything when you move in and out. This has been a very steep and expensive learning curve. They come round whenever they want for a surprise inspection. They are rude and do not answer any queries you have. I found the women there to be worse than the men, especially if you are a woman complaining. They treated me and my partner like we were prisoners with no rights. Do not use, you have been warned.

GoogleMartin & Co are the worst lettings agents I have ever dealt with . in my the staff are unprofessional and very rude, unhelpful when there are issues then never respond quickly we had to wait over one month for some one to come and fix the fences and the the kitchen light unite, Be aware of them before you move in they make it for you 5 star service everything it is ok with no problems at all. Be aware when you want to move out they will make it for you the hardest and the most expensive day for you even the inventory check you will pay for there staff to do for you. When we moved in - The fridge was dirty with fungi we did clean it our self. -hole in the wall - The bed and mattress very dirty we ask them to move it they never did even we have our bed and mattress. - The carpets dirty smelling we clean it. - Scratches on the doors and windows - The paint everywhere in the kitchen *** just to be aware all of this not listed on the inventory list and we have to pay money from our deposit when we check out.****

GoogleFind someone else, have had several issues I’ve tried to raise with them since November 2022, it’s now mid Feb 2023 and still have had no resolutions to ANY of the problems I have sent several emails over. Unprofessional.
