An incredibly frustrating experience all round. We rented a retirement apartment for my father through Barton Ewemove. The processes Ewemove use are all digitally based which does not suit the elderly who prefer to read and sign a document. It was a major inconvenience to get my father to digitally sign the myriad of legal documents that came through on email. The apartment was not ready to move into and we incurred considerable cost and inconvenience making it suitable. The rent was increased by over ten percent after the first six months and whilst we were going through the purchase of another apartment in the same scheme an eviction notice was served on my father so the apartment could be re-let. This caused a huge amount of stress as we were now working to an enforced deadline to get the new apartment, also purchased through Ewemove, suitable for my father to move in to. To top it all off the agent, despite serving an eviction notice several weeks beforehand, failed to cancel the ongoing direct debit and consequently took a payment after he had moved out. It appears that it is now on us to take a 90 year old dementia sufferer to his bank branch to reclaim it. An absolute farce. It is my opinion that if this agency is not equipped to meet the needs of elderly clients then it should not be operating in this market. Just an edit in response. It is not a legal requirement to have tenancy documents digitally signed, a manually signed document is perfectly legal. Evan for tenancies under three years. We purchased the apartment in the same scheme with our solicitor providing manual documents throughout the process, without asking for it, because our solicitor is an independent and knows his clients. The digital signatory requirement is solely a requirement of your company. I would refer you back to my original statement with regards to working in markets unsuited to your model. We were fully aware about the option to purchase, and we made an offer, which was rejected with no counter offer. It is worth noting the apartment in question subsequently had offer which was £5000 lower than the offer made by ourselves, accepted. Market value is only what someone is willing to pay for it.

Upon viewing, Victoria clearly knew the ins and outs of the property, stage of probate and state of freehold. Any questions we had she was able to answer. She communicated with us, vendor and solicitors regularly, updating us all on progress of the sale. 7 weeks and 2 days in total which we were delighted with given the previous 12 months we had been waiting for another to go through. On completion day Vitcoria greeted me with a bottle of wine and EweMove gift pack. She seemed genuinely pleased for us and interested in plans we have for the property. Yesterday, I completed on the sale of my house, with EweMove, Bordon. Exceptional. I cannot recommend their skills highly enough. They even managed to make an inherently stressful process one with many highlights, due to the pleasant and good-humoured nature of the interaction with them - even through the difficult parts. I found them to be everything that the reputation of an estate agent suggests they should not be: dependable, principled, responsive, and literally in every single aspect, outstanding! I worked closely with director Matt Evan’s, whose intelligence, strategic thinking, delivery, patience, courtesy and judgement were all just perfect. Above all- which was such an important quality to me in selling my belovèd home -, Matt’s integrity always shone through. However silly my requests, they were always treated with the highest respect. This sometimes included giving an answer I might not have wanted to hear, with a clear rationale given for the reasoning which always persuaded me. Nothing was ever too much trouble; every request was taken seriously and promptly dealt with, even when that was out of hours. In particular, Matt’s advice was invaluable when deciding how to deal with some extremely frustrating delays. I am pleased that I decided to trust his judgement and expertise over my own, resulting in a successful completion. I am so glad I chose Matt and EweMove. I cannot commend EweMove highly enough. If I ever buy or sell another property in the area, I wouldn’t even consider using anyone else. They not only went the extra mile, they went an extra Lightyear and, in addition to their outstanding professional skills, as a as an added bonusn added bonus were a most enjoyable companion to have along the journey. You really couldn’t ask for more.
