Have been with Dexters for over 16 years and found them excellent at getting high quality tenants and helpful at change-over times.Carl, in their property management department, has been great at persuing the necessary aspects of managing my property eg negotiations on deposits and organising maintenance, sourcing the right people for jobs. Chris and his property management team try to go above and beyond to fix any issues and help keep me sane when dealing with stressful upkeep issues when renting out property which is over 120 years old - so typical of much the London market. Please keep up the good work!

During 2023 I have bought a flat in central London in which Dexters acted as the Estate Agents for the seller and subsequently rented out this flat with Dexters as the letting agent. Throughout these processes I have interacted with various Dexters staff, including Lok Chan, Joseph Donaghy, Phoebe Wishart and most recently Bryan Crail. All have been polite, helpful, responsive and well-informed: everything that could be asked for.A special mention must be made of Bryan Crail who is responsible for managing the let of my flat. When a problem arose due to damage to the exterior of the building leading to water ingress he has been the primary contact to deal with it. During this difficult time he has been proactive in working towards fixing the problem, helpful and kept me well informed: an excellent response in a challenging situation.

Beware Landlords in being tricked into a long term contract with no break clause. I had always been pleased with my local Douglas Martin in Hendon, but I didn't realise they have been taken over by the large company Dexters. Now it seems to be more about their own performance than customer satisfaction. As a landlord with rising prices I was adamant that I only wanted a fixed priced one year contract, while they kept pushing two years. Not that I am unreasonable and overpriced. But I need the option to slightly raise. Yet somehow I ended up with a two year fixed contract with no break clause. How? I was travelling with bad WiFi and on the day they sent through the contract to sign I was on a boat and could only click quickly and return. I didn't realise I'd signed for two years! Nor did they tell me until a two year bill arrived. Now I have a tenant who phones regularly about everything and anything and I'm stuck for two years! I spoke to another landlord who was also unhappy as he ended up with two years. They also pushed like mad for extras like management etc. To make matters worse after taking the first month for their fees they hounded me for another £125 threatening a debt collector. Sadly I would not use them again.

The proverbial comments regarding Estate Agents can be thrown in a bin when it comes to this professional company who offer a service unlike any other I have experienced. In particular I must mention Nick Harris, who headed the team, and Felix, a senior negotiator. They have handled a sale of my elderly parents home which was as delicate a situation as any could be. As promised the house was marketed magnificently with many viewings resulting in a speedy offer for the property. Every aspect of the process could not have been handled better. It has been a privilege to work with both Nick and Felix, whose experience and knowledge are both respected and comforting. I find myself wishing I had a portfolio of properties to sell or buy just to work with them again. Thank you both, for everything.

Experience with dexters over the past 1.5 years

We have had a mix experience with dexters over the past 1.5 years. In the beginning of the contract, their support was very slow and it was difficult to get basic things done. For the past 9 months, our point of contact at dexters Bryan Norton Crail from property management has been a game changer for us, he is in constant touch with us about specific issues happening in the flat and trying to get things done as quick and efficient as possible. We appreciate the help and support that we are getting from Bryan and from Dexters now.

Very unprofessional and rude attitude from agents. Had 2 viewing with them. The first place we saw was taken already, as the landlord took an offer from another agency. In the second place we viewed, we didn’t want to view but they pushed us to view with emails and calls, they rushed us to pay holding deposit. Next day they kept sending emails and calling to do reference, after filling everything up I received letter saying that we have to start doing the legal work, pretending that I haven’t started anything and said that it’s been 48hr (it was not close to that it was 38hr gap) since offer took place (7pm) on 14th and the email they sent was 9am on 16th. There in the email they threatened that the flat will go back on market because of that. When I went back to agency to pull the offer due to how unprofessional they treated us with the written emails, and threats that they will not give the place to us, they shouted at us to leave because I told her her mannerism was unprofessional, she told us we were being rude because of that, not letting us speak and she kicked us out of the agency with no chances of getting the deposit back. Wouldn’t suggest anyone using this agency, terrible experience, and stolen deposit.

Letting with Dexters

My whole experience with Dexters has been excellent from my very first meeting about letting my property to the subsequent support from the Property Management Team .I would particularly like to mention Monika Piszczyk in the Property Management Team . She listens and acts upon any queries I have and keeps me informed of recent occurrences. She always gets back to me ASAP. Judging by her performance, she is equally professional with the tenants. Her care and efficiency is exemplary. I feel very lucky to have Monika as my support.( If Monika happens not to be there, then other members of the team have been able to help).This is one of the important pluses for using Dexters.... everyone is able to help. When I first approached them, the whole letting team, in Finchley Central, visited the property so they all knew it and could speak knowledgeably about it . The property was let and tenants in very quickly.Would I use Dexters again? Without a doubt.. every time.
