I chose Whittley Parish for my first move in 48 years because they are a small, local, independent business. Of the three agents that I initially considered, Alex Parish demonstrated the greatest local knowledge and the best understanding of my requirements. I have no regrets about my decision to commission them. Throughout the whole process, from the initial planning session to the completion of my sale, Alex and his colleagues were professional, reliable and always did whatever we had agreed. Their communications were clear and they were responsive to all of my questions or concerns. They were supportive to me personally and showed a good understanding of all aspects of the sales process as well its legalities and practicalities. I recommend Whitley Parish without any reservations.

My experience with Whittley Parish has been terrible.

My experience with Whittley Parish has been extremely disappointing. In my opinion, the service I received was rude, dismissive and thoroughly unprofessional. What makes this particularly concerning is that these issues were not limited to one member of staff. My experience extended to senior management, including Alex, the Managing Director, and Jade, the Assistant Manager. When customers are spoken to and dealt with in this manner at management and director level, it raises serious questions about the standards and culture being set throughout the business. If this is considered an acceptable way to deal with customers at the top of the company, what standard is being set for everyone else? Communication throughout the process was extremely poor. Emails were very rarely answered in what I would consider a timely manner, meaning I regularly had to chase for updates. Rather than feeling that my perfectly reasonable requests for information were being dealt with professionally, I was often made to feel as though I was being a nuisance simply for asking what was happening with the sale of my own property. The most serious issue arose in relation to a court order concerning the property. Whittley Parish had been provided with the court order by my ex-wife, yet when I contacted them they refused to stop marketing my property in accordance with it. As a result, I was left having to return to court at substantial personal expense before the position was ultimately acted upon. In my view, this situation should never have been allowed to reach that point. Worryingly, there were also problems with the AML checks. My understanding is that the required checks had not been fully completed when they should have been, and this subsequently contributed to the sale of the property being pushed back by weeks. For something as fundamental as AML compliance, I found this extremely concerning and frustrating. There were also serious concerns about the handling of prospective buyers. I was aware of prospective buyers waiting days to receive responses and, in some cases, weeks before viewings were actually booked in. When you are paying an estate agent to actively market and sell your property, that level of service is simply not good enough. It leaves me wondering how many other prospective buyers may have been put off, lost interest or simply moved on to another property because of these delays. I will obviously never know, but as a seller it is extremely frustrating to be left asking that question. I also submitted a Subject Access Request (SAR) for the personal data held about me. The information was supplied late and, more importantly, the disclosure I received did not appear to be full and complete. Calls and emails that I knew had taken place were missing from the information provided. Given the circumstances and the difficulties I had already experienced, this only added to my concerns about how matters had been handled. Selling a property is stressful enough without poor communication, unnecessary delays and having to repeatedly chase to get serious issues addressed. Based on my experience, I could not recommend Whittley Parish. There were simply too many issues: poor and delayed communication, delays in arranging prospective buyers’ viewings, problems surrounding AML checks, the handling of a court order, and concerns over the completeness and timeliness of a Subject Access Request. Most concerning of all is that my poor experience extended to senior management. In my view, Whittley Parish needs to take a serious look at how it treats its customers, how it handles important legal and compliance matters, and the standards being set from the top of the business.

We've had experience of using both Whitley Parish in Attleborough for purchasing and Whitley Parish in Long Stratton when trying to sell and the high level of service just seems to be consistent and at the core of everything they do. Communication and transparency, especially from Nick, was brilliant. It was never too much trouble for us to organise extra viewings even when our offer was accepted and conveyancing was progressing well. Losing potential buyers

Very disappointing and don't seem very interested in selling homes. We were very interested in a house for sale and possible viewing having already viewed the location etc. Phoned the agent who took our details. It was the next day before someone phoned us. We had wanted to view that day but we're advised there was a 4 working day wait for any viewings as staffs diaries were full as they accompany all potential sale viewings on any property. That's farcical. Often Potential buyers will visit an area with a shortlist of properties, but do a drive by and area check prior to just booking a viewing. Often they won't have 4 days to wait around to come back to view. We wouldn't sell via these on that basis. As a vendor I would be appalled if I knew possible buyers were being told to wait at least 4 days to view. So that's a sale lost, we move onto a vendor and agent keen to sell. Yes another agent with property sorted 2 next day viewings for us.
