Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience and you felt that our communication did not meet your expectations.
After reviewing this with the branch, we understand that there were already three applicants who had viewed the property prior to your enquiry. When you got in touch, we did attempt to arrange access as quickly as possible; however, the current tenant was on holiday, which unfortunately delayed the viewing until their return.
We received an application from one of the earlier viewers. As part of our process, this was submitted to the landlord and our head office team for consideration. While an application is being reviewed, the property does remain actively marketed in case the agreement does not proceed. It is only removed from the market once a tenancy agreement has been formally signed.
While we always aim to keep applicants informed, access to tenanted properties can sometimes present challenges outside of our control.
We would like to wish you the very best in securing a suitable property.

My daughter picked up her keys for her 1st rented flat yesterday. They had assured her the carpets had been cleaned, yet they were rotten! My white socks came out black on the bottom when leaving! No end of tenancy clean had been done, i have photos and Videos at the state of the Place with dirt, dust, hair lying all over, a manky shower screen, toilet covered in urine and faeces! The fridge freezer is a shambles, and they are refusing to sort it out! The carpets need replacing never Mind a clean, but my daughter had said as long as they had been cleaned she would be happy to take it. They lied through their teeth saying they had been cleaned, made her sign the contract before letting her check! And surprise surprise they hadn’t been cleaned! Now they don’t want to know!Abysmal service!!

We’re incredibly disappointed to receive this review as you can see with our 4.8 star we pride ourselves in the service we provide. We can assure you this property had been cleaned by the landlord prior to the tenancy commencement. As a reputable letting agency, we wouldn't and have never forced anyone to sign a contract, all properties are viewed prior to an application being submitted and a holding deposit paid. Our lettings team have worked directly with the named tenant and landlord to rectify issues in the property since moving in. As per the inventory letter which is issued alongside the inventory, all tenants have 7 days from the tenancy start date to notify the property inspector of any issues they have found which are not already noted on the inventory. Any issues raised are dealt with accordingly, in some instances, tenant preference can override genuine repair or maintenance and as this is not a new-build property, having had tenants previously then there does have to be allowances for fair wear and tear. Rest assured that this is the reasoning behind our thorough inventory reports, to protect the tenant from unreasonable claims being made at the end of the tenancy by the landlord. Our team will always help with any issues and there was no difference in this situation. In the rarity that a tenant is extremely unhappy with the property despite viewing before submitting their application and signing the inventory, they can return the keys to the local branch, cancel the let and receive a full refund however this was not deemed necessary by the tenant.

We are so disappointed to receive this review as it does not reflect our outstanding customer service that we pride ourselves on. Because of this we have investigated this further and have been informed that you had enquired about a property and had wanted a specific start date for your tenancy, our branch staff spoke to the landlord regarding this but the landlord told them they wanted a tenant who had viewed the property.
A member of staff did leave you a message passing on this information. However the next time you rang unfortunately the tenant had been accepted and an application had been submitted. The rental market is incredibly competitive as well as fast paced and landlords want their properties filled as soon as they can, some often have specific requirements that our staff must take into account. We do our best for both our landlords and potential tenants and we ask the questions but we can only do what our landlords ask of us. Which in this case was to go with an application from someone who had already viewed the property.
We’re sorry you felt that there was a lack of communication, this is never how we want of our clients to feel. However our staff did try to update you but they did need to leave a message as you were unavailable.
We wish you all the best with your property search and are of course we're here to help you with any future property.

Alistair Bowman and the ladies in the branch we all brilliant.
Alistair from the off was really engaged and listened to my needs, and then in really good time found the perfect mortgage for me. He kept me informed throughout with regular updates, even if it was just a no-info check in but just to say things were still in progress and on track. At every turn he was there to keep us informed and most importantly kept his promise with everything along the way in terms of updates, agreed phone calls, and any general requirements.
The ladies in the branch were also brilliant, they also kept me informed throughout, and every time I rang in and asked them to to organise things like additional viewings or general info updates they treat me like a priority, they always acted on the ask and kept me informed within a decent time, again even if they couldn't get in touch with the seller they would give me a quick courtesy call to let me know they have tried but left message and will chase accordingly.
Overall I couldn't fault the whole team and the experience received from start to finish was nothing short of brilliant.

GoogleSecond time we have used Rook Matthews (Blyth) for a purchase of a property and Alistair from RMS Ashington for Mortgage advice and sorting a mortgage out. Can't fault anything, literally all stress is taken out of it. Alistair on both occasions we have been paired with him has been fantastic, really helpful, communication is brilliant, always there if you need him, and offers good honest advice. We personally wouldn't ever look to use another estate agent which as such is why we've always only looked at properties by RMS as we know staff right through from general admin to the mortgage advisors are good at what they do and won't let you down.
