GoogleWe couldn’t recommend Francis and Tim highly enough. They were absolutely brilliant from start to finish and played a huge part in helping us sell and complete on our house in just **six weeks and two days**.
Communication was exceptional throughout. They set up a WhatsApp group with themselves and our solicitor, which meant everyone was kept in the loop and knew exactly what was happening at every stage. It made the whole process feel much more organised and gave us real peace of mind.
We’d had a difficult experience with previous estate agents, particularly when it came to supporting the buyers of our property, which ultimately resulted in buyers pulling out. So when we received four offers this time, having complete confidence in the agents we chose was incredibly important to us. Francis and Tim understood that from the outset and, importantly, we had total confidence that they would support the first-time buyers who ultimately purchased our home.
They also understood that we were working to a tight deadline because we had found a house we wanted to buy, and they knew the sellers were under pressure too. They worked incredibly hard to keep everything moving and make sure the chain stayed on track.

GoogleReview of Mayets Estate Agents
As an overseas landlord, I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service provided by Mayets Estate Agents. My experience with this agency has been unprofessional, frustrating, and deeply disappointing, and I would strongly advise others to stay away.
At the start, my interactions with Mayet seemed promising. She personally viewed my property, offered advice, and agreed to put it on the rental market. However, once I left the country, things quickly took a turn for the worse, and I began to see her true colours.
Key issues I faced include:
- Poor communication: Despite sending detailed messages that required responses, I was repeatedly ignored for weeks at a time.
- Unhelpful office staff: Calling the office proved useless, as I was met by young and inexperienced admin staff who didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Every attempt to speak directly with Mayet was met with the same response: “She’s in a meeting.”
Eventually, I decided to withdraw my property from Mayets Estate Agents, fully aware there would be a cost. I simply did not want to continue working with such an unprofessional agent. Ironically, once I made that decision, I suddenly received a flurry of messages and newfound urgency from Mayet, the level of communication I had needed from the beginning.
What happened next was even worse:
- I agreed to pay Mayet for her time as a gesture of goodwill, even though no formal contract had been signed.
- She charged me £125 for an EICR report, claiming it had been completed and promising to email me a copy. Months later, I have still not received this report.
- Before leaving the UK, I had personally arranged and completed the gas certificate, leaving it on the kitchen counter. Despite this, she invoiced me £175 for another gas certificate after I had already withdrawn my property. Shockingly, the document she sent was an empty, blank certificate.
This entire experience has been deeply disappointing. To make matters worse, I was referred to Mayets by a friend, a recommendation I now greatly regret.
Please take the time to read the numerous negative reviews already posted about this agency; unfortunately, my experience mirrors many of them. I lost money, never received the promised EICR report, and even encountered what appeared to be a fraudulent attempt involving the gas certificate.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Save yourself the stress, choose a more reliable and professional agent

Thank you for your review. I sm sorry you feel that the service was poor when I went out of my way for you visiting your property twice giving you advice on how best to prepare your property etc. However, the Gas Safety Certificate that was duplicated was not charged for and the document was not blank but a genuine certificate and the EICR failed and as the electrician was due to carry put the works but you then cancelled the full certificate was cancelled. I was happy to refund this back. As per the contract we sourced you a perfectly good tenant therefore, my fee was payable in full but you lied and advised that your situation had changed and no longer wished to let the property probably because you found a cheaper agent because we discussed your property the day before and the potential viewing who later confirmed wanted to take the property and there was no dissatisfaction discussed. Had you been unhappy with the service you had the opportunity to express this but from our conversation everything was fine. I will be pursuing legal action to recover my fees and costs in full.

GoogleAlthough Mockford and Hunt wasn’t our direct estate agent, they have gone above and beyond for us, and I honestly don’t think things would have gone as smoothly without her help. From the start, their communication was helpful, clear, and consistent, often keeping us better informed than our own agent and solicitors! They chased progress tirelessly, kept everyone in the loop, and managed to solve issues which no one else was owning.
What really stood out was how professional yet approachable they were. As first time buyers we felt genuinely supported by someone who wasn’t even directly working for us, but they went above and beyond to keep the whole chain moving forward. That level of dedication seems to be unheard of, and we’re extremely grateful for it.
If you want an estate agent who combines efficiency with real care for their clients (and the rest of the chain), I couldn’t recommend Frances and Tim more highly. They made a stressful process so much easier, and I’d happily work with them again in the future.

GoogleI would highly recommend Mockford & Hunt. No hesitation. They were recommended to us by our mortgage advisor. From the initial valuation, Tim was very honest, friendly and down to earth - all the sort of things people don’t think estate agents can do but want to see in an estate agent. We had viewings booked in virtually straight away and they kept coming which generated 3 offers in total over the course of marketing our house. This allowed us to put an offer on a house which was accepted. Tim and Charlotte kept us informed of progress throughout the sales process and we loved the modern day approach to keeping us updated or reporting anything (I won’t reveal their trade secrets) but I can’t believe other agencies haven’t jumped on this approach yet. Charlotte pushed our sale through with great perseverance and dedication and we moved in June 2024. Had it not been for the hard work of Tim and Charlotte we would not have been able to upsize and purchase our family home. Why use a large corporate agency to sell your property when you get a much better personable service for the same price using an independent? Agents all use the same techniques to sell houses anyway but you get more for your money this way. The staff are genuine and they actually care about their customers and their needs. It’s a no brainer for me! Keep up the good work Tim, Charlotte and Francis.

GoogleThe process of buying a house can be very daunting. I really didn’t know where to begin, so I booked a meeting with Tim Mockford to see what I needed to do. He immediately put me at ease and, even though I felt no pressure to go with them, I knew I would be in safe hands with Mockford and Hunt.
I was selling a shared ownership property, which comes with some added complications, however they were in constant communication with my housing association and they sold my apartment very quickly. Charlotte was a great sales lady!
I have been quite a fussy house buyer! So I took a while to find my perfect home. I never felt pressured to ‘hurry up’ and they were very supportive when a few of my offers were not accepted.
The thing that sets Mockford and Hunt apart from other estate agents is their communication. The WhatsApp group is a game changer as one of the team will always respond in a timely manner. Frances was great at dealing with my queries.
Due to their excellent communication and recommending an excellent solicitor, we were able to complete before the stamp duty increase.
I highly recommend them!
