John German in Ashby - Highly recommended

We used John German in Ashby for the recent sale of our property. The sales side was handled excellently but our review is to thank Ian for all the hard work and effort he put into progressing our sale during the last few weeks of the process. Unfortunately our buyers had used a solicitor for conveyancing who at the end were dreadful at best. Thanks to Ian’s persistence we got over the line at the very last minute.

I can't speak highly enough about the team at the Ashby de la Zouch branch. Although my wife and I decided in the end against selling our home, I cannot fault the staff, especially David, Lizzie and Henry, their organisation, communication, commitment, first class attitude and their willingness to go the extra mile to try to get the result we wanted. While looking for a property we couldn't find we had dealings with other estate agents who weren't in the same league as John German. They were superb.

We have recently purchased a house through John German and to say the process wasn’t without its issues is an understatement, however, the staff at JG have been approachable, professional & patient throughout. Awful customer service. Asked to view a house and gave availability and details on our position. Was then emailed asking for availability and details on our position…which we’d already given! I replied, as I really wanted to see the house, and got an out of office saying they were away for a week. So I forwarded the thread to the main office account. I then had to chase because after two days, no one replied to me. I was then emailed again asking for availability and explanation of my current position! Which I’d already given twice. Absolutely shocking customer services. Never did view the house, as we’ve put an offer in elsewhere and it was taking too long to arrange anything, just couldn’t get anymore. I feel for the vendor, as the house was really suitable for us and we may have made different decisions in what to buy, had we actually managers to arrange a viewing!

We have just sold with John German Ashby branch and cannot praise the whole team enough. David who came out to do the valuation was fantastic - straight talking in terms of realistic value but listened and understood our personal situation and worked with us in terms of a plan - at the end of his visit he left us confident that he really wanted to sell our house, we knew how he was going to do it and when we got offers they were spot on with what he said we could achieve. Lara Beth and Henry were patient, efficient and warm and friendly whilst arranging all the viewings. But a special mention has to go to Lizzie who was just amazing! So confident, warm, friendly and calm - we were just one of many sales she was no doubt dealing with, and to get us to exchange took so much chasing with us, our solicitor, our buyers, our buyers solicitor and our buyers estate agent, but not once did she make us feel like she did not have time to talk to us. We are so glad we chose John German to sell our home.

We recently tried to purchase a property through John German, and despite the owner pulling out of the sale in the end, I was very impressed with the service I received from Lizzie and Iain during the process. Lizzie was fantastic during negotiations and really personable, and Iain kept me updated on our progress regularly and chased solicitors on our behalf, they were much better than the estate agents we used to sell, and I would DEFINITELY use John German in future! Both Lizzie and Iain were supportive when the purchase fell through (despite my tears on the phone), and I feel positive that they'll find us something else instead. Thank you for all your help!

We sold with John German on two occasions in the past and were not disappointed. This time they were the agent for the property we wanted to buy, so it made sense to place the sale in their hands again. The advice and support we received from the outset was outstanding. There was a genuine interest in our property's appeal and potential. Sales particulars were expertly prepared over Easter and the requests for viewings came immediately and in quick succession. We were kept fully informed about the timing of appointments, which were capably handled for us by Linda. Helpful feedback on each viewing was provided. In all aspects of our sale and the purchase, we were kept fully informed of developments. Any queries we had were quickly addressed. At all times, we felt valued as clients - welcome in the office or when in contact over the phone. This quality of service was consistent across the sales team under Lizzie's direction. She was aware of our particular circumstances as older clients and, as the sale progressed, maintained the right level of contact with us, our buyers and the respective solicitors to ensure that no delays or unexpected hitches occured. We moved house on the target date that suited our buyers and ourselves. While we consider ourselves fortunate that everything went remarkably smoothly, we are happy to acknowledge that, in no small part, this was due to the professional approach of the John German team in Ashby.
