Excellent & so above-professional; a breath of fresh air in estate agent-land!

Excellent - superlative even - service and help from Grace at Kemptown/Brighton Fox&Sons. Grace was super efficient, dealt with a myriad of inquiries and was always on hand and on top of everything re. an offer on a property in Kemptown.Having dealt with a lot - I mean a lot - of estate agents in Brighton - which is enjoying a property boom - I can hand on heart say that even though most are lovely - it really stands out when you have got someone who a) isn't trying to flog you something you don't want and b) who is doing their job so well - they actually look out for what you are not thinking about or seeing in the process of looking at a property to buy. It is HUGELY helpful when an estate agent is that thorough and cares about their job so much - and of course this is so conducive to you wanting to do business with them.I totally get that estate agents get cynical and jaded as they do their job year after year - it must be exhausting - but when you have someone so on the ball and preempting what you are missing, and not thinking about, it makes all the difference.Thank you Fox&Sons - and Grace in particular. I have to say how helpful the staff were at the Bognor Branch of Fox & Sons. They could not have been more helpful. They went out of their way to make sure my mum's sale went well, and she had tricky buyers to say the least, but all the staff were exceptional. They keep me updated with the progress and helped out with all the negotiation between all parties involved. My mum was getting very stressed with everything and they all helped to ease the pressure and situation. So I want to say on behalf of my mum and myself a BIG THANK YOU.

Avoid F&S conveyancing

Do not use Fox & Sons in house conveyancing firm. I’m not a Fox & Sons customer but our buyer is (as that is their agent) and they’ve held up our chain for months. We agreed a sale in October 2024, it was discovered in January 2025 that our buyer needed an amendment to their lease on their leasehold property before they could sell it (a deed of variation) three months later to today, only now has the Fox & Sons conveyancing firm read the leases properly and determined what they need to do and there is still no end in sight. All in our chain has needlessly been put to extra stamp duty cost, the cost of arranging a new mortgage offer because previous ones have expired, we’ve had houses in the chain being re marketed, causing further stress. Our solicitor told me today that they have three chains including ours that are all stuck and going nowhere due to a deed of variation, and guess what, every one of those chains has the same Fox & Sons conveyancing firm handling the deed of variation. They clearly don’t know what they’re doing and I would suggest unless you want to waste your money on delays, and be stressed beyond belief, do not use Fox & Sons in house conveyancing. I don’t normally post reviews, if I get bad service, I simply don’t go back. However, on this occasion, I’m getting bad service that is costing me and others in our chain more money, and there is nothing I can do about it.

Very responsive and helpful, even during these hard COVID times, he managed to find me the best mortgage and while waiting to find the best property the lender walk off the market(6 months), and Massimo has Managed to arrange a last minutes new lender, with the same parameters(or even better) ...and Just bought the house so I can strongly recommend their system and solicitors, easy to deal online and very correct !! Advice to new buyers, make sure you understand the property wordings and check carefully (freehold, leasehold and etc.) what’s the best you're looking for before you go for a deal! Not always the agents are given the correct info from sellers/landlords, but be sure all the hidden info will be available with the time from their solicitors’ checks!! I cannot recommend Daniel the mortgage advisor enough!! Hassle free sale of our home , sold in 4 weeks , property was on with pcm for 8 months I approached fox and sons they said they would do there best to sell in 4 weeks and they did , very happy with the service , I was congratulated immediately once I accepted an offer , very close to asking price I must thank Callum , Alex and Charles they have been very very helpful and always replied quickly to my calls and e mails , I used fox and Sons 22 years ago to buy the house and I had great service then and I just wish I had asked them before asking pcm as the house would of been sold months ago , but today I am very happy it’s finally sold with the professional company they are Ken Press

No stars would be more accurate

Edit: The service got even worse once we'd left. The Company left me with a number of examples where I had to contact Utility companies, because they lied about our Moving out date. I then found myself having to explain to several people that we had moved out in October 2019, not January 2020. This took several hours over many months. My credit rating was apparently affected, because I didn't know I was being left with bills that I shouldn't have. I would welcome any member of the company to contact me to discuss just how bad they were. I very rarely have the need to write a poor review of anyone, but I've never come across such an air of apathy from a company. At the start, they were very pleasant, and made a load of promises to get work done before we moved in. The house was filthy, and their representative (Mr Evans) promised my wife that a load of cleaning would be done. The garden would be tidied up, holes in the walls would be filled. The excess furniture would be removed. On arrival on the day we moved, nothing was done. My wife was extremely upset (Rancid milk ground into all the carpets downstairs, thick film of grease and filth in the kitchen, dirty toilets and bathroom. Cooker filthy and not working, Garden was a mess, Furniture that should have been removed was still there, etc etc. This was not vaguely dirty, but FILTHY) My wife contacted the Company Representative, who did nothing. When I eventually complained further up the chain, it was turned around so that it was our fault for not formally requesting that stuff be done. The flippancy of the lady that dealt with the complaint was beyond contempt. When I make a promise that is something will be done, when I'm representing my Company, I make sure it is done. This was definitely not the case with Fox And Sons. Having moved out, we now find that we are likely to lose a large portion of our Security Deposit because they are now blaming us for damage that was caused long before we had moved in. We are rather relieved to have now moved out, and even more relieved that we will never have to deal with this company again. There are many estate Agents, and Letting agents that work extremely hard for their clients. This isn't one of them. I expect my Secure Deposit to be taken from us, as it would appear that their primary objective is to take as much as they can from the market. Exactly as expected, we have been blamed for long term neglect and damage to the property that were there long before we moved in. We have photographs from the week we moved in, and will process an appeal, but I fully expect that it will be ignored. If truth be told, all we want now is to move forward and not have to deal with these people ever again. As the title says, NO STARS would be a more accurate appraisal.

I am first time buyer. Me and my wife went for a viewing of a property which is for sale by Fox and Sons and been asked if we have a mortgage adviser. I sayed no and been offered to meet theirs. We except. In the conversation with their mortgage broker Massimo Jones he promised he will secure a mortgage for us quickly(because my wife is pregnantand and have to give birth around 20th of January) with 5% deposit, despite my low credit score for a fee of £700. If he will not secure a mortgage he will refund our money back. Me and my wife choose a property and he sayed he will do an offer for us. Offer was excepted and he asked me to come to do the mortgage application. On the application he took the £700 and guarantee he will secure a mortgage or money back. After I have payed the fee he said he expect results next week and also he will go for his annual leave for 12 days. On the day he went on his annual leave he contacted me and sayed the lender refused to lend me the money and I have to look another properties, becouse he can't find a lender for the one I choose with my wife. OK, we started to look for another properties and found a very good one priced 120k, but valuation on Zoopla is showing estimated value is 144k. I wanted to put an offer, but been told by estate agency, offer to be excepted by them I need a document called Agreement in principle. I didn't have that, as Massimo Jones didn't provide me with it when have done an offer on previous property. Because Massimo Jones wasn't around and I had to secure a mortgage as quickly as possible as my wife will give birth in less than 4 months I've been advised to use another broker to secure the property to do my Agreement in Principle quickly from the scratch to put an offer. My Agreement in principle was created, I put an offer and it was excepted. When Massimo came from his holiday I already had a secured mortgage and I asked my money to be refunded. He said he have to ask his boss named Alex first. Which is showing already he was not authorised to give a promise to me and my wife he will refund the money. Next day Massimo Jones contacted me and said his boss will not refund me as Massimo potentially could do a mortgage on another property when he is back from his holiday, just not for the one I choose previously. Worst experience ever. Contacted Fox and Sons Head office to make a complane. Been told it will take up to 8 weeks to do the investigation and it is not guaranteed my money will be refunded. Been fully refunded after 8 weeks

From the very start of the process all the way up to moving in week, Jodie has been absolutely amazing! Any questions we have had we have been able to get an answer very quickly, and for first time renters as we are students it has been a massive help for us.
