GoogleFirst Step were amazing from start to finish of purchasing my property. Both Jules & Claudia were amazing and so so friendly, happy to answer any questions, especially as a young solo first time buyer who had a lot to ask! A special shout out to Jules, you really helped me in every way you could and made me feel comfortable in my search for a property and viewings, and even after getting the flat! Couldn’t thank you enough and would recommend to anyone 🥰

GoogleI would without hesitation recommend First Step Estate Agents when buying or selling a property. Jules and her team are amazing. They are honest, proactive, diligent, very patient and understanding, also empathic too. Jules is a very professional and knowledgeable person. She was always there whenever I needed help or answers to my many questions throughout the whole process of buying my property. It would have been a much more stressful experience had it not been for Jules and her team.

GoogleJust finished selling an investment property with Nicola and the team at First Step. Property sales aren't always easy, but really happy with the outcome. Really liked the notifications and feedback process on viewings, and then great communications throughout once an offer received. Even when it got a bit "sticky", Nicola was always on it, with great weekly updates, and felt confident that we would achieve the end result as quickly as we could. They also acted as agents for almost 10 years when the property was rented out and there were never any major issues or concerns; always felt like they listened to any issues from either myself as landlord or my tenants and problems were always closed out positively. Check in and check-outs especially were always well managed, and its testimony to the team at First Step that in almost 10 years being a rental property, it was only vacant for about 3 weeks in total. Great local business, will always recommend people to include in their search for sales or letting agents

GoogleWe have been so impressed with First Step from start to finish. This was our first house move for 36 years, and we felt quite nervous about it. We needn’t have worried though. The whole team was professional, caring incredibly helpful and proactive in every aspect. Nothing ever seemed like too much trouble for them, and the problems we encountered both selling and buying were taken out of our hands and dealt with quickly and efficiently. Jules was incredible! It honestly felt like she was holding our hands throughout. It made the whole experience much less stressful than it might have been because she literally just took over if there was an issue. We are very grateful and can’t thank her enough. We have found First Step to be outstanding. They are a great team who go above and beyond and we highly recommend them. Thank you to all the team - David, for his friendly and considered valuation, Nicola and Sandie, who (unexpectedly to us) secured 4 offers in the first week and of course to Jules. They are highly professional and Jules & Nicola were always available to answer questions and keep us updated throughout the process. On both occasions, our houses were only on the market for a very short time before First Step found a buyer, and completion was straightforward. We also purchased our current house through First Step and, as expected, it was as stress free as buying / selling a house can be. Thank you First Step!

We contacted Jules who remembered us straight away I explained what we wanted to do, and they swung into action and after working very hard Nic sold our house and Jules found and showed us our forever home. We where very lucky to buy this house and even though the process was very long and sometimes very stressful the First Step team where always there to answer any questions & worries and anything really! We felt safe that they would get us there and give us the strength when we needed it, information when needed and most importantly a clear understanding of where we where in the selling and buying process. Thank you Nic and the whole First Step team and of course thank you Jules without your hard work and determination we would not be sitting in the perfect house writing this! GoogleWe have just bought a house through first step. We genuinely hoped that the house we bought would be one through First step after Nicola had spent so much time helping us view houses. She was the best agent we had experienced in our very very very exhaustive house search process, seriously we must have seen something close to 50 houses or that’s how it felt! We had begun to resent the process but when Nicola was our agent it felt so much more enjoyable. Jules was equally fantastic once comms had been handed over to her after our offer was accepted etc. A fantastic team who go the extra mile and is 100% have them sell my next house for me!

She was beyond helpful, a real gem, and her professionalism, patience, and clarity made a challenging process so much easier to manage. The purchase involved a sitting tenant who was meant to vacate before exchange but didn’t, which created some unexpected complications. Throughout it all, Jules was incredibly responsive, calm, and reassuring. She provided clear, timely advice and always made me feel supported and well-informed. GoogleI have used first step before when renting out a property, and found them to be an excellent choice to work with. So when I had to rent out my other house as well, it was a logical choice to use them. I was overwhelmed at the efficiency and helpfulness of the rental ladies, both Jo and Kellie were superb! From the moment I contacted them for a rental appraisal and to enquire about the contract options, they were absolutely fantastic. So efficient and I was within 24 hours given a pack with all the up to date information for me to look at. The photos were taken snd the ad prepared again the same day! I was so pleased that literally within 24 hours of the Rightmove advert being live, they contacted me to let me know they had a viewing booked for the next day! The tenant was interested and as discussed previously, I requested to meet them before any contracts were made. They arranged the meeting and got all the relevant checks underway. I would have absolutely no hesitation to recommend them to anyone who was looking for an estate agent. They were present at every step on the process , and my house was only vacant ( so I could refresh the paintwork ) for 2 days! I took advantage of the inventory service offered as well, it was an absolute pleasure to work alongside these ladies, thank you so much.😊

FacebookWe had a great selling experience with First Step. The valuation and onboarding process was efficiently handled. Viewings were expertly filtered, fielded and organised, with almost immediate feedback updates. First Step secured us a buyer very quickly; when that buyer pulled out due to their change in circumstances, First Step secured us another buyer in a matter of a few weeks! Jules and Nicola were outstanding, advising and helping out in all manner of things during the conveyancing process; they went above and beyond…! Highly recommend.

Buying your first home is never easy and can be daunting when dealing with most estate agents but with First Steps, i couldn't have felt more comfortable. From the moment we attended the first viewing to the day we picked up the keys, Jules and the team were on hand to help with all queries, even the ones which wouldn't typically fall under them! They helped advise us in so many ways and with our purchase being one which involved attention and patience they made us feel like we didn't bother them once. We encountered a massive hurdle at the last minute due to our an end of chain changing their mind, which put everything at risk of falling apart but First steps managed to complete the impossible and got it resolved within weeks. FacebookMy experience of Jules was that she’s sexist. I wanted to view a property but was made to jump through hoops to prove I would have the money to buy it. She even phoned my estate agent to make sure I wasn’t lying about my house being sold (I was buying with mostly cash anyway!) - and she told me I still wouldn’t be allowed to put an offer on the house. My brother then called and was told he could view with no questions asked. I’ve now been approached by a couple of newspapers about it as it seems I’m not the only person this has happened to. Wake up Jules it’s not 1952. Women have money.
I can confirm that this response has been read, agreed, and approved by the owners of the property and all team members dealing with you and your brother on the phone. Your initial call was made at 7.30am yesterday, I returned your call promptly at 8am, you advised me you wanted to view a property with us later that day and advised that you had not accepted an offer on your property. We discussed that the vendors were considering current offers from proceedable parties with completed chains and that regrettably we would not be able to accommodate a viewing unless you were in the same position ie: sold with a completed chain. This forms part of our standard due diligence practice. You called the office again during the morning and spoke to a colleague, you advised us that you had now accepted an offer and requested that I called you back. You did add that if we didn’t offer you a viewing then you would go to the property, knock on their door, and speak to the owners directly. On my return to the office, I called you back immediately, you asked what other offers had been made, I advised that I was unable to disclose that information, you then said you wanted to offer “£2mill”, which equated to £200k over the asking price. In order to carry out our due diligence in a professional way, I mentioned I would need to contact your agents to confirm that you had a completed chain to ensure your offer was proceedable (as I had done with all other parties who had offered). You kindly provided your agents details, however when I called them they didn’t have any chain details, in fact it appears you had accepted an offer from a buyer and your agent had no details of the other agents within the chain. They were unable to confirm if it was a completed chain. They did kindly advise me that as your buyer’s property was worth considerably over £1m that it was unlikely to be a first-time buyer, which is what you told me. Your agents advised they would call me when they managed to find out. I called them again a few hours later but they were still unable to provide further details. At no time did I ask you for your financial details. In the meantime, whilst I was out of the office again, your brother called to book in a viewing, he told my colleague he was proceedable, he WAS NOT given an appointment to view the property, he was told I would call him with a view to arranging a viewing, As promised I did call him to discuss but had to leave him a voicemail message, he didn’t return my call. It was clear that you very much wanted to view and as I didn’t want you to miss out on the opportunity of viewing (in case your agents called to confirm your chain was complete) I offered you a viewing that afternoon. You then advised me that you were now not available to do a viewing and wanted to view the following day. You expressed that it is not normal or correct for an agent to check out chain details when someone wants to offer, I politely tried to explain that this is perfectly normal when offers were already being considered, at which point you advised that you would not view with First Step, you would contact the owners direct, book a viewing with them and tell them not to pay First Step a penny. I understand you then sent both the vendors a friend request on Facebook but they have not responded to you. My actions were at all times very professional and I was working in the best interests of the vendors, I can only apologise that this didn’t benefit you - I can, hand on heart assure you that having a team of 6 strong, independent and confident female team members, and 2 wonderful daughters being sexist could not be further from the truth.
