GoogleIf I could rate 0 star I would. Never answers the phone. Never calls back. Never emails back and when you do finally get through the customer service is shocking. A very long drawn out process of 5 months to move due to in house solicitors specifically Gemma who had absolutely no idea what she was doing and getting updates on the situations weeks later from the estate agents. We had no contact confirming we were moving and how things where done on the day.. do they meet at the property? Do we collect the keys? Do the vendors hand over the keys? The day before we moved we got an email stating we had just exchanged ( this was done a week before) left us worrying about the move the next day. On the day of our move I had to call to query this… After 2 calls finally someone answered to say they were in a meeting and would call back. SHOCK no one did, i called again. Emily who sold our house had to check our file to see if we were moving that day?! How do you not know if the house you sold is completing or not? Throughout the whole purchase they never called back or updated us on time, they would say they will call back and never did. Just very poor customer service. Avoid avoid avoid !!!

GoogleAs first time buyers, the whole mortgage application process would have been a daunting and confusing task had it not been for Chris. He was always happy to help and answer any questions we had, and when we did experience a problem during the process - whereby the lender reduced the amount they were willing to lend after our initial mortgage offer expired - Chris was extremely helpful and gave us confidence that he would do everything he could to resolve the issue, which he did. While our solicitors weren't as helpful as they should have been, we felt that Chris was the one person we could rely on throughout the whole process. We would not only recommend for first time buyers like ourselves to have a mortgage advisor to help navigate them through the process, but specifically for them to choose Chris.

GoogleThroughout the whole experience of purchasing my first house, Matthew and Chris have both been extremely helpful and quick to respond to emails and calls, making the entire process simple and keeping me well updated as to the progress of the purchase. GoogleI had a great experience working with Hall and Benson. I used them for both a re-mortgage and and a brand new mortgage. Chris at the Alfreton site was amazing and always available to help on any issues we had. Cannot speak highly enough of him and the work he put in to help get everything over the line.

GoogleWould like to thank James and all of the team at Hall and Benson in Alfreton, who valued and sold my property quickly and above the asking price, allowing us to proceed with our next purchase. Though the process which stressed me at times with the solicitors! James and the team were very supportive and reassuring I can not thank and praise them enough, Thank you very much. Steve and Sue. GoogleCurrently selling a house through hall and benson, no chain, taken 12 months so far. On the 9th Feb was told by hall and benson that the only thing remaining was to set a completion date. After contacting my solicitors the same day they informed me that they had no idea about this and emailed the buyers solicitors immediately, 3 days later and no reply from the buyers solicitors, so I tried calling the person dealing with my sale at hall and benson but they were always busy or out the office, I made numerous phone calls, most went unanswered, alot got diverted to other branches so I left messages with them, also left messages with other colleagues in the Alfreton branch. Eventually got through on the 2nd March and was told more searches and a new mortgage offer was now required. Why avoid me for 3 weeks? It's definitely not something I'm going to forget or give up on. I'll be collecting the keys first thing tomorrow morning and taking my business else where. Avoid hall and benson, cost me over £250 a month in interest and bills on an empty property.

GoogleWe had a great experience with our purchase with Chris Astill. He explained everything in layman's terms and recommended the best provider to go with. The screen-share process made it much simpler too to see what was going on too. Chris was patient despite my questions and was quick with updates. I would highly recommend him if you are purchasing a property.
