Jackson-Stops Cranbrook Branch

Jackson-Stops, Cranbrook Branch recently sold my house. They were brilliant, helpful and great with communication which is rare these days. Rachel with whom I dealt with was lovely, so friendly and so patient with all the endless calls I made. They say selling your home is one of the most stressful things you can go through. Its no easy ride but I can only say that Jackson-Stops made it as easy and calm as it could be. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you live in Kent and you want to sell your house, they are your go to agent. Brilliant. If Trustpilot had 10 stars to hand out, then that is what I would give Alastair and his great team in Cranbrook.

A breath of fresh air! The day I met James he was professional but friendly and his advice was perfect. He spoke honestly about our home and the various sales / marketing options. Everything was organised for us and extremely easy. All the staff at the Alderley Edge branch were super polite, helpful and very courteous; our sale was quick and went through very smoothly. Shari was always attentive and Jay really worked tirelessly to accommodate us and achieve completion of the sale. In fact the whole team were just fabulous! I would have no hesitation recommending Jackson Stops all day long. I just wish all estate agents were of this calibre. Brilliant service from start to finish. Thank you :)

Wouldn’t recommend!

Wouldn’t recommend! I have raised several concerns about one of their tenants, to Helen & the MD but nothing has been done. Emails are ignored or replied to months later with inadequate excuses, since they moved in in December 2025! I am writing this review at 4 am, having been kept up until 11 pm with the 8 year old child screaming like a banshee again and now being woken up with him banging around the house! I have lived at my property for four years, and the last year has been a total nightmare!

Our family have used Jackson Stops to purchase two houses recently - one for us and our son also bought through them, and have been totally impressed with their service. We have had dealings with a number of people in the agency but in particular must give a shout out to Jay who is just brilliant. He is so engaging and listens to the client needs/wishes list for a property and works really hard to find the perfect home. He is enthusiastic, charming and makes viewing stress free. If you are looking for a house call them and ask for Jay. Also wonderful are Shari who works hard at pushing sales and purchases through by professionally liaising with solicitors and clients to make sure all the right boxes are ticked. And of course, lovely Crispin, who worked really hard getting the deal over the line and some final paperwork through for one of our house purchases. I met Toby Whittome, a Director at the Jackson Stops office in Lindfield, at a neighbour’s Christmas cocktail party. As my wife and I were pondering selling our house the following spring/summer, I spent quite a few minutes peppering Toby with a number of questions. I immediately liked his manner, patient, detailed, humorous and tolerant of me chewing up his time away from the office.We have now sold our house with Toby brokering the deal. Despite knowing that I was going to use him, we interviewed a number of other companies. None of them had the manners nor manner that I wanted in my partner for this deal. As a foreigner, I am fascinated about the strong opinions that homeowners or buyers have about property agents. The English system is far from simple and there are numerous opportunities to fail. Ours had the typical ebbs and flows but it certainly didn’t feel like it. Like anything you get what you pay for and I, possibly, didn’t pay enough so we got a steal. In fact, the process was seamless, lacked the gravitas of what a transaction of this size could have had and was just plain enjoyable…except for the moving of possessions part. I queried Toby robustly about his strategy and the process and ultimately deferred to him despite having worked in property in the past.I would strongly suggest you use Toby and his team. He may not tell you what you want to hear but he will tell you what he knows. If that is not what you want to hear or he sounds uncertain, that is the reality of the market, the process, the English system and he will still know more than you do. You are in good hands. I should know. Best of luck.

Patronising and dishonest

I initially approached this company after viewing a property they were marketing and considering making an offer. However, I was told they wouldn’t take on my own property as it was “outside their remit.” This didn’t appear accurate, as I’ve since seen them advertise several similar properties in my local area, both in size and value. When I challenged this, they reluctantly agreed to proceed. Unfortunately, their overall manner came across as rude, patronising, and unprofessional, which did not inspire confidence. As a result, I decided to instruct another estate agent.

Shari helped us to sell our house recently and showed skills that make her an excellent Project Manager. In a chain of 4 where communication skills are essential, Shari kept in touch with everyone and whenever any problems arose she took the lead to sort them out. In my experiences with most selling agents, they take you up to the acceptance of offer, and then leave you. Shari always went the extra mile and stayed with the project until contracts were exchanged. Shari is a tremendous asset to Jackson Stops.
