We recently completed the sale of our family home, and I wanted to personally express my sincere appreciation to the entire team at Jackson-Stops, Alderley Edge, for making what could have been a stressful experience an incredibly smooth and positive one. James really knows his market and, more importantly, knows exactly how to sell a home. His expertise, honest advice and strategic approach were invaluable. Not only did he achieve a sale above our asking price, but his guidance helped us secure a buyer quickly and navigate the entire process with confidence and minimal stress. Of course, behind every great estate agent is an equally fantastic team, and we had the absolute pleasure of dealing with Shari, who was simply wonderful throughout. Selling our property was quite a journey and he was brilliant throughout. He went above and beyond for us, was persistent when he needed to be and kept everything moving and on track. Jackson-Stops have recently sold our house for us and we downsized to a bungalow, also through them. They were so helpful every step of the way. We knew the staff there from the original purchase of the property and were so pleased with that experience that we chose them for the recent sale. The team in Bury St Edmunds were effective from day one. The marketing material was well thought out and very professional. The task of showing potential purchasers around the house, answering their questions and working with us to keep them well informed worked very well. We had an incredibly positive experience selling our home through Jackson-Stops Northampton. We couldn’t fault the service we received, from the initial valuation right through to completion. We priced our home competitively and secured multiple offers within a couple of weeks, achieving the guide price. Sadly, we lost our buyer a few weeks later, but we went back to market and, once again, achieved the guide price within just a few days. Sadie on reception was always incredibly helpful and efficient, particularly when arranging viewings and providing us with feedback. Ian Denton handled our sale, and we couldn’t recommend him more highly. He was professional, proactive and went above and beyond throughout the process. We were buying an onward property through a different agent and, unfortunately, had a very poor experience with a lack of communication and proactivity. Ian was instrumental in helping to keep our onward purchase on track, regularly chasing the solicitors involved as well as our onward agent when necessary. Asked to view a property on Bures Road and was told I had to provide proof of funds before even being allowed a viewing. I understand proof of funds is needed at offer stage but demanding it just to view a house is unnecessary and comes across as rude and intrusive; the tone felt more like an interrogation. And for clarity, questioning an asking price is not the same as being unable to afford a property. In a previous transaction, we declined to overpay for a house we did not believe was worth its asking price, and it later sold for significantly less. That is a valuation judgement (a mistake by the same agent), not a funding issue. In any case, the interaction felt dismissive, rather than professional. Plenty of other agents manage to handle high-value properties professionally without treating potential buyers like time wasters. So choosing to take my business elsewhere.

Unfortunately after careful consideration I have decided to speak out. A week ago following a phone call where I enquired about a property and was duly qualified by a lovely lady called Daisy, then booked a viewing for yesterday. This particular property is in need of restoration so Daisy and I had a lengthy conversation about it. I then called a few days later to ask if I could bring along my builder and surveyor which was agreed with no issues. I then moved my meetings and booked myself half a day off work and my builder had to re arrange meetings to be there too . At almost 5pm on the eve of the viewing (yesterday)I missed a call from the estate agents and no voicemail was left. I called and was then put through to Jay. He quickly informed me he had completed a sale “just now” on the property. At no point in the lead up to the viewing was this made clear that it was under offer. I have waisted everyone’s time and it just doesn’t feel quite right. I have unsubscribed from their mailouts and won’t be returning to Jackson-Stops, as I just won’t work under that type of partnership. I have just re reviewed this feedback as I was really surprised and pleased to receive a call from Jay the following day based around this review. We had a good open conversation and agreed it would have be helpful to have known there were offers on this property, we both had a better understanding of my frustrations and agreed to keep in touch should anything change.
