I have used WJMeade for around 4years to let my property. I opted for the the full package and to date not had an, emergency, problem to deal with. With a couple of the minor problems, they contacted me and I arranged to deal with the repairs. Their diligence with finding a decent tenant has payed off, as I’ve had no problems. Their 6 monthly report on the condition of the property, works like clockwork.

FacebookDisgusted with the customer service from w.j Meade, one person in particular Gareth. After viewing a property and becoming interested, I was waiting to hear back after from him, when I finally did I was told she decided on someone else but wasn't set in stone as of yet and would keep me updated, to which I asked if he could help me with afew other properties I was interested in viewing etc, after texting, ringing and emailing (even the head office) I still haven't received a single update, text call or anything! It would have been nice to have at least one reply! Attached are the messages from our conversations - no updates and never told me I was unable to go for other properties!

Hi Lucy, These messages clearly show harassment from yourself to a member of our staff. You abused your position as a consumer as you knew the staff member outside of work and contacted him through private channels. This is inappropriate and must be deleted immediately. You should only be contacting the branch or a particular staff member through their work contact details. Email address or branch number. You are always free to write your views, but you are not entitled to share private messages you made to one of our staff members. I have reported this. W J Meade

My partner and I had originally put down an offer on a home through WJ Meade thinking that it would be smooth-ish sailing from there after a long winded process of finding the right property. We had our offer accepted on Thursday, conditional on completing before the end of December which we accepted and hurried to instruct our solicitor and broker. Come Monday, we spoke to Mike Maddin, the Managing Director, who then told us that another offer had been accepted on the house, thereby gazumping us. We were incredibly frustrated and disapointed by this as we were not given any opportunity to counter offer, or told about this until Monday afternoon when all this had been occuring on Friday and over the weekend. We were appalled by the lack of professionalism and integrity on their part. I would never use or recommend WJ Meade again given the underhand nature of this, or lack of communication around possibility of counteroffering.

FacebookI was very happy with Wj Meade at first everything sounded like it was going smoothly. I wanted to rent a property that I put a holding fee down for I also then provided two separate guarantors but one of my guarantors were not accepted. So I then provided another guarantor but due to the amount of information that they have asked for my second guarantor did not want to proceed. Home let the Referencing department asked many questions that my guarantor was not asked whilst buying a mortgage house. So the landlord then made an offer of paying two months rent and one month rent deposit which we accepted. We then spoke to Wj Meade and they said the landlord doesn’t accept and they cannot help us further. Our £270 holding fee is gone for waste even though numerous of times we have put so much effort in to get this property and they didn’t want to understand or help us. Such a bad service never have seen an agency with this much hassle. I have so many people who have bought mortgage houses and never have they struggled this much with their paper work.

Possibly the worst agent in London. After an initial meeting and reassurance that they could sell my Mile End property, 3 months later with only 3 viewings we signed with another agent who offered 6 viewings and sold within 3 weeks. Meades conduct, complete lack of communication and inability to give any guidance or answer any questions throughout this process was shockingly unprofessional...verging on contempt. They ignored any request for guidance, We had to instruct them to make changes and once we took on another agent we heard nothing for the last last month. Even if we had sold we would have taken them to the Ombudsman. Awful company and management.

There communication skills are non existent, had to push them for an answer constantly..especially Adam in particular, no proactivity in informing you of any updates and doesn't get back to you at all. save yourself time and go somewhere else.

But no voicemail that very evening I went back on Rightmove to see the property was sold subject to contract. When I managed to speak to someone I was told the vendor had received the asking price. (Well was the vendor not interested in selling over the asking price).... old habits seem to die hard with this company I purchased a property with them some 6 years ago and I remember struggling to get my offer put forward so I ended up driving to the vendors home and agreed a price with him there and then
