GoogleMandy, Adele and Juile are very professional. When I was ill they took over dealing with Aviva because I was so stressed out I can't thank them enough for all there help and kindness. In the end everything went through smoothly. So thank you ladies . I hope you enjoy the chocolates. I would recommend the estate agents for there quick response and excellent service.

GoogleSuch a professional and helpful team from the outset. Mandy was so accommodating, and Adele was so thorough in communicating everything with respect to viewings. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Sleigh and Son again- felt very much like service used to be. Would highly recommend and will use them again in the near future.

GoogleDealt with this firm as the seller when they represented the buyer on my property sale. Their conveyancer refused an existing absent landlord indemnity policy on completion and pushed for a retention for ground rent arrears. After completion, the ground rent invoice was issued by a company whose active Director is a Senior Partner of this exact law firm. When raised, the Senior Partner dismissed the concern on the basis that I was not their direct client. Be aware of how third-party transactions and retentions are handled here. UPDATE in response to the owner's comments: I was never provided with an address or contact details for any alleged rent collector, meaning there was literally no door to knock on. It was only when I researched the entity demanding the funds on Companies House that the direct link to this firm's Senior Partner was uncovered. Written correspondence from the conveyancer also confirmed that her client would not knock on a door to pay rent. The Absent Landlord indemnity policy had already been purchased in 2018 at my own cost when I bought the property. Refusing existing insurance to extract cash under the time pressure of a completion date resulted in an unnecessary duplicate payment. The response above openly confirms that the company which issued the arrears demand and received the payment has a Senior Partner of this law firm as an active Director. I never confirmed the matter was closed, having promptly referred the conduct to the regulator. The SRA's assessment explicitly recorded that the conveyancer claimed she was personally unaware that her firm's Senior Partner ran the company collecting the ground rent. The documented email trail and public Companies House records speak for themselves.
Firstly, the policy offered by your conveyancer was not "industry standard". It was in fact entirely inappropriate for dealing with the issue at hand. The appropriate solution was to attempt contact with the rent collector first, a lady in Hyde who has no association with this firm, its principals or the company to which you refer, with a view to establishing the arrears position with her. You refused to do that so the retention was offered to you as an alternative solution intended to avoid any delay in your transaction, to be held pending confirmation from the rent collector with regards to the arrears/costs position after completion. You were not "forced" to accept the retention proposal and indeed there would have been no need to even offer that solution had you made the attempt to contact the rent collector, something which could have been as simple as knocking on her door. Ultimately, when the position became known after completion, an appropriate deduction was made from the retention to cover the debt you plainly owed and the balance was promptly returned to you. It is therefore both misleading and disingenuous to suggest that in spite of the fact you were not a client of this firm, your concerns were dismissed. The truth is that we did engage with you in reaching a fair solution and yet, in spite of the fact that a) the amount you ultimately paid in discharging the debt you owed, was appropriate, minimal and considerably less then you would have paid for the inappropriate policy offered by your conveyancer and b) you expressly confirming that you considered the matter closed once the balance of the retention had been returned to you, you nonetheless filed a complaint against this firm with the Solicitors Regulation Authority which they promptly rejected, supporting our position on this matter. For the avoidance of doubt, the company which issued the ground receipt to you and of which the Senior Partner of this firm is a director, was NOT the company directly entitled to collect your ground rent. It was only the superior landlord which agreed to step in and assist in resolving the issue after completion and did so at no cost to you. As acknowledged by the SRA, the association between the company and this firm was coincidental, it did not constitute a conflict of interest and had no bearing on the manner in which the matter was dealt with during the conveyancing transaction. It is regrettable that you continue to misinterpret the position and persist in making these unfounded accusations and we would suggest that you seek independent legal advice if you are still in any doubt. GoogleImpossible to remove yourself from the mailing list. I have tried unsubscribing FOUR times, also e - mailing and last week spoke with Julie who promised I would be removed from their list immediately. Today I have received a further 5 e- mails. I have only ever made 1 viewing with them and ever since have been bombarded with e mails for properties in a completely different area. Will certainly not be making any further viewings with them.

Although Julie had removed you from the applicants’ database, a technical fault in our software system caused old emails to be generated in error. GoogleHad done a lot of viewings with different estate agents and the one with Sleigh&Son was by far the worst. The staff at viewing was simply rude and wasn't able to answer any question related to the property.
I have checked with our Denton branch and they have no record of any viewings for anybody called Vera. Perhaps you could clarify and confirm which property was involved so we can follow-up on these allegations? Regards Simon Sleigh

We were absolutely clueless on what we needed to do when buying our home and they were very helpful in answering our questions and explaining what we needed to know. GoogleI have recently been going through the process of buying a house, and would avoid this place for a number of reasons. They will bombard you with repeated phone calls, one after another during weekday working hours, despite knowing that you are in full time employment and unavailable to take calls. No sooner has the phone finished ringing out before they begin calling again. They also requested of me a particular document that as it turns out, nobody provides these days (I was informed of this by several solicitors specialising in conveyancing). This shows a clear lack of knowledge on their part, and outdated conveyancing methods. Finally, after having to pull out of a deal, which I am fully entitled to do, one of the members of staff was extremely rude and patronising towards me over the phone which I didn't appreciate at all. She was clearly annoyed with me and unable to remain professional, repeatedly asking me why I didn't inform them of this weeks ago (despite me since then receiving information that affected the integrity of the sale). I have since dealt with other estate agents who have been far more courteous and pleasent. I do not recommend this company at all.

GoogleWe've booked a viewing with this agency to check a property. We arrived with only 5 min delay and unfortunately for us we didn't inform them as we were panicking to find our way. When we arrived and knocked on the door no one answered and it was only then we found out the agent had left due to this small delay. We would expect as a very minimum, to give us a call to see if we are on our way, but this "service" is not offered apparently.Waste of time ,you don't treat customers like that.
