The worst of the worst. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS AGENCY, I REPEAT DO NOT FALL IN THEIR TRAP. John Hilton marked my horrible beginning in studying in Brighton. Like anyone they would start with smiles and promises etc. But once the agreement is signed they are no where to be found, and when I finally got the chance I was treated horribly and even threatened to be physically assaulted when I asked for my legal rights as a tenant. In the end I never got my money back or my dignity as a human being. Please do not deal with them they are horrible.

We immediately felt we were in very good hands and this was proven within days; we had multiple views and fantastic offers (outstripping the conveyer belt promises of other agents we had tried.) We had very bumpy start with JH, we were left with rubbish and beds for an unfurnished let, trades people letting themselves in consistently and without our consent with no accountability. Then Kimberley Gold started…. Since she’s taken over as our contact I can only say how wonderfully she takes care of all our needs. Kimberley is a delight to deal with always kind helpful and professional. I’d recommend JH only as we have the pleasure of having Kimberley Golds as our agent. She is a gem and hope she never leaves ;)

This is a review for John Hilton sales located in Rottingdean. I decided to place my property on the market with John Hilton. The house sale being part of the process of my relocation to Australia. I decided upon John Hilton based in Rottingdean, East Sussex. The team at John Hilton's ensured that throughout the process they are extremely professional. However, it was their level of support and their friendly manner, that for me really exceeded my expectations. I would like too especially thank the following staff: Tom Coffey. Tom was my primary contact in regard to the sale. I could not recommend Tom any higher. Amazingly friendly, very supportive, always willing to assist. Tracy Ewington. Tracy was fantastic. Each time I rang with a concern, Tracy provided the support I required, chasing anything outstanding, soothing my concerns. I write this in all sincerity and pain, I only wish I wasn’t quick in dropping a review a year ago praising them. I hope other international students see this and trade carefully. I rented a 6 bed house alongside other 5 girls with John Hilton Agent, during our tenancy, my house mates and I lived in this house with utmost care. Upon vacating, we used a cleaning service company recommended by this same Agent and left the house in almost a new state. 7 weeks later since our tenancy ended, our deposit hasn’t been returned. The worst part was the level of lack of professionalism, long delay to responding to emails, it’s almost like they’re avoiding us. Eventually when they got back, we’re being charged for things ordinarily we shouldn’t have been charged for covered under the wear and tear clause including rubbish disposal, despite not leaving rubbish in the house. I sincerely recommend this Agency re-evaluate it’s end of tenancy dealings with students considering that students make up a huge population of its clients. I’m really pained about my end of tenancy experience and the continued neglect from the Agency. As at today, we haven’t seen a certificate of our deposit being insured. Folks, be careful.

I was with John Hiltons for both my sale and purchase and they were absolutely brilliant from beginning to end! The team are mature and incredibly professional and treated my house and those I viewed with the utmost respect (shoes off on carpets etc) Once a sale was agreed, the ongoing process was managed by the superb Tracy, who liaises with the others in the chain and their respective estate agents and she really does it well!!
