IN RESPONSE TO COMMENTS: There would have been no overcrowding issue, the property wasn't that small. I explained on the phone that he was part-time. And I did not say self-employed or that he was employed for only few months. Never said that. I said he was working from home had a remote contract. He still has a contract. The salary and savings were 2 1/2 times the monthly rent for the property so more than ok by standards. Please tell the truth. Using words like "confessed" and "admitted" for things were were clear about BEFORE we viewed the property is just further testimony that you're not decent people to do business with. I understand you are doing your job but being rude and derogatory about it is uncalled for. I guess it's a subjective thing after all, but in my opinion, you have zero people skills. Because of my viewing other properties, I can effectively compare. If I could give zero, I would. If you are looking to rent, please avoid Dowen. Unless you like feeling judged and are into rude estate agents. Where is the humanity in this business? Had a house viewing today. Dawn Teggert was showing us around and she could not be less enthusiastic if she were paid a million pounds to be. There is really something wrong with this woman and I have seen other commenters with similiar experiences. She was also almost half an hour late to the viewing. Picked up the wrong keys, she says. If you want to judge based on "professionalism" maybe try being professional yourself, love. She then stayed downstairs the entire time, not really showing us around. I don't know if it's the done thing at Dowen but no other estate agent has been this rude and stand offish. On the contrary, they've been so lovely, talkative and helpful. We could afford the rent. We are clearly earning what seems like the standard 2 1/2 x the monthly rent but she was very reluctant to cede to that, asking us for ever more personal information such as how much savings we had that, in hindsight. I should NOT have answered. I don't think she had a right to our life story and financial history. Really judgemental and rude. I'll say it again: if you're a prospective tenant and you want to have a positive experience, please avoid.

Dowens and particularly Mandy made the sale of our house a very simple and stress free period in our lives. We Took advantage of the all in price that was offered by Dowens, so we knew exactly how much we were going to pay. That helped with the overall process of moving home, something we hadn't done in 35 years, As you can imagine we were worried about everything lol. I'm not saying that I didn't experience stress, l did on a few occasions and sometimes a little frustrated too but after a call to Mandy things were sorted in no time at all and everything was in order and the sale went ahead at super speed. Appalling treatment towards buyers. After having our offer accepted on a property with Dowens, 4 days later we were told that another buyer had outbid us and asked by Mandy Pledger whether we’d be putting in a counter offer. In this time, we had paid H2B administration fees, a surveyor, completed our mortgage application, instructed our solicitor and found tenants for our own property. We were incredibly accommodating towards the vendors and Dowens and confirmed that we were happy for them to keep the property on the market until the valuation by our Lender was completed. This was because the vendors had been messed around in the past and the sale had fallen through on multiple occasions. I'm now thinking that it was probably more to do with the unreasonable demands from Dowens and the vendor that the house is not selling. It’s very bad practice to be gazumping prospective buyers and playing them off each other in this manner and if the vendors were not happy with our offer, they should not have accepted it. We were told that Dowen Estate Agents "do not condone or encourage gazumping" but were also told on the phone by Mandy that the exact same thing happened earlier in the day with another one of the properties she was marketing. We will not be going anywhere near Dowen Estate Agents again in the search for our new home as they have no respect for prospective buyers.

From the very outset she ensured that the process was smooth and her communication skills and attention to detail were second to none.
