Lovely place to live. The sales team were great and are very friendly when you are looking for / purchasing your home. CALA did come around and carry out a visit at our home upon request near the end of our 2 year warranty period - and agreed to fix most reasonable requests. They did make tracking the progress of the issues as difficult as possible and it wasn't the easiest getitng them to agree on a date. They only have one painter and joiner, so you can be waiting over 6 months, only for them to conveniently forget to schedule the scaffolding. Getting anything in writing from them can also be a pain. I get the impression they try to do everything verbally in person or on the phone so there is no way to ducument what was said. I recommend taking your own notes and sending it to them. Overall the CALA Customer service aftercare is not the best. Many emails can be left unresolved for weeks and takes a lot of chasing. They will see to the serious issues at least, but will always try to come up with any excuse why something could be classed outwith the warranty to avoid accepting fault. But in the grand scheme of things, we are very happy with our home and it is a good place to live.

Update January 2026 - CALA Southbank- Aberdeen: Good luck getting out of your house in the winter! CALA are an absolute nightmare and have been refusing to clear the roads of snow and ice on the Southbank Development, despite the handover adoption period still ongoing. They conveniently forgot to liaise with James Gibb Factors to discuss their intentions to stop taking responsibility. CALA tried to wipe their hands of the issue and insisted that James Gibb Factors were responsible - which is not true. Scottish Government was informed and I believe are intervening as CALA refuse to accept responsibility. I believe the site has not been constructed to the correct criteria and the local council can't adopt it until these are fixed by CALA - likely involving purchasing part of residents Gardens. As the road has not yet been adopted, responsibility for its maintenance and safety remains with the developer. This is a fact CALA keep trying to squirm away from.

Nice enough housing scheme, no dog poop bins anywhere or even litter bins. For an expensive area it's pretty shocking tbh. It could be so much nicer.. do better Cala..
