GoogleOur lawyer Karen helped my parents during their lives and after their deaths, finalising their estates clearly and efficiently. Karen was so efficient and pleasant to work with that we also asked her assistance with a problem we had with another estate. She was very patient and kind while dealing with the issue and helped us to finalise that estate within months despite difficulties. I would always recommend Karen at Blackwood & Smith.

GoogleI have been with Blackwood and Smith W.C. at least since the 1980s and would never use any other lawyer. I have always been treated so well, promptly, kindly and diligently. Karen Valentine was new to me when, on my husband's recent death, she took on a very complicated job and dealt with all my mistakes, my woes, and I felt she was indeed a very professional friend. Such times require humanity as well as professionalism. Everything was dealt with promptly, correctly and with understanding. I was kept up to date with what was happening. GoogleKaren Valentine at Blackwood and Smith dealt with my late aunt's estate and I was extremely impressed with the service she provided. There were a large number of beneficiaries including 2 living abroad and a considerable number of companies to contact as part of the process. All the communications which I received were timely and very detailed and clear. When it became apparent that the winding up of the estate was taking longer than expected Karen arranged to make interim payments to all of the beneficiaries which was greatly appreciated. Karen's persistence in dealing with some of the larger well known Scottish companies and constantly checking that they had the correct details before accepting any repayments or invoices is to be admired. I would highly recommend the service provided by Karen Valentine.

GoogleWe have used Blackwood & Smith for a number of conveyancing and property matters recently, dealing primarily with Struan. Everything was dealt with in a smooth, calm and knowledgeable fashion. Matters of importance were highlighted to us during the transactions, and everything else was taken care of. We felt we were in very safe hands. GoogleWe used Blackwood and Smith for the Estate management of an elderly relative and found the support and advice given to be excellent. Struan was calm and efficient in his conveyancing work and we had total confidence in him. Michael added further to the team and kept us informed at all stages which was particularly helpful as we do not live nearby. Karen was outstanding in her Estate management work, often organising matters before we had even thought to ask!

GoogleOur family have worked with Blackwood & Smith (and in particular SLA Karen Valentine) over many years, and would have no hesitation in recommending them. Karen has been enormously helpful in her management of complex Estates. She is absolutely meticulous in her approach, gives excellent advice, communicates promptly and effectively, and does all of this while displaying high levels of empathy and understanding.The front of house staff are unfailingly warm and welcoming. In addition, their fee structure has always seemed very reasonable and provides great value for money.
