The adviser answered most of our questions and was really helpful.Would like more information on the planned bus service for the estate and whether it will be operational at weekends and later in the evening than the park n ride currently runs. Its a massive plus to buying a property in this area knowing that there will be a regular bus running 7 days a week until late,otherwise it feels a bit isolated and you're a bit stuck.

Bought an Avant property straight off plan at City Fields, Wakefield. Been in my home coming up to 20 months now. Couple of snagging issues as to be expected with a new build, largely around the bi-fold doors (which are a great feature to the home but weren’t installed correctly) It took 3 separate occasions to sort but I’ve found the customer service team to be very responsive, in particular Shelby who is attentive and has always arranged for the appropriate work to be done .You hear a lot of horror stories about new build homes across all the developers but I honestly think some people’s expectations are far too unrealistic. All in all love my home.

Myself and my partner just bought a new build at Shelton Village and have had an overall positive experience so far! The sales experience was great, we dealt with Rob who was really amazing at keeping us up to date and helping with any queries we had.The house overall has not had any major issues/snags, and snags can only be expected for a man made house! We did feel like when we moved in a few things were missed that we raised in the home demo so they could get us in quicker, however both the site manager and Zara the customer rep have been really quick to get any snags we have raised so far sorted. Still a few things to do and some chasing required, but we have only been in a few weeks. Everyone I have dealt with has been really lovely.

Do not approach or even think about associating yourself with this company. They are the worst developers to exist. They think they can do what they want, where they want and when they want. They are dis-honest, use shabby sub-contractors, who they don’t end up paying, no wonder they don’t finish the jobs! Avant destroy green space, leaving wildlife with no home killing families of badgers and foxes who get in their way. Avant have flooded nearby residents homes who have lived in their homes for over 50 years, Avant deny any involvement and are refusing to pay compensation. They do not care and will never care. The only thing they do care about is the directors (same as the dodgy firm Persimmon!) making millions out of the little people who stupidly decide to buy their houses! DO NOT BUY!

She is a credit to Avant Homes, nothing is too much hassle for her and she is always pleasant- shes just a call or text away, she pops along every week - she pops along every week, sure its to pet my dog 🐶 though.Jokes aside she is fantastic.

Me and my husband approached Avant homes we were looking for a house in that area , from our first appointment with Bella, we found our beautiful new home . She spent a lot of time answering any questions and being able to answer them promptly . Just before we moved in. We had an appointment to check our house to make sure we were satisfied with everything Nick who is the site manager was fantastic. He pointed out snagging that we would never have noticed. We got the keys quickly to our new beautiful home . Louise welcomed us to our new home she was great and very helpful .We were giving numbers for customer care and contact details for Michelle who has been fantastic . We haven’t had any major issues with our home. Only little bits of snagging here and there ,that have been dealt with promptly sometimes within a couple of hours after making a phone call, somebody would come out to fix the problem. Everybody that I have dealt with that works for Avant homes has been fantastic. I cannot fault them .

Sarah was great at explaining all the options to available to us, and advise us of realistic timescales. I currently have pregnancy brain and she definitely took the time to make sure I understood everything!! (Patience of a saint - thank you)When we left our meeting I knew we wanted to proceed with buying a house with Avant, and Sarah made us genuinely excited to do so.

After a chance 'drive-by' viewing in September at the Fitzwilliam Grange site, I have had great service from Lynsey and Lucy from sales, all the way to completion 5 months later. There were some complications along the way but they and the 2 site Managers, Steve and Ashley, were helpful and seemed to have genuine care for me as a customer. It's been a great experience so far and I'm thankful for their smiles and kindness along the way

We have had a brilliant experience with Avant at Monkswood. The customer service from Keana was excellent and she kept us fully informed throughout the whole process, answering any questions we had as it was our first home. The quality of the build was great and both Ian and Dave, site manger’s were fantastic. Any concerns we had, they sorted straight away for us without question or hesitation and the after care so far has been wonderful. We couldn’t be happier with our new home and are so grateful for all at the Monkswood site for making the process as easy and seamless as possible for us. Thank you Avant!

We bought our house from Berkeley DeVeer but now they have taken over Avant and are handling our case under that name so here goes. I wish there was a negative option not just a 1 star. We are getting to the point where we really dislike our house. It’s affecting our mental health, it’s depressing to come home to see such shoddy workmanship in almost every area of the house. The brickwork around the front door has mortar gaps varying from 1-5cm in several different shades, and this is after 2 rounds of “remedial” work. The woodwork on the stairs and throughout the house is a mess. We have a curved angle in a corner of a stud wall rather than a crisp angle, but then it’s also plastered and finished like it was done with a butter knife. Flaking paint on radiator pipes. Patio doors that are so hard to open it needs a shove. Can’t push too hard though or it will swing open and hit the heat pump which means the door doesn’t even open much past 90 degrees to the house. The shower screen in the family bathroom still leaks onto the floor despite having it replaced. The en-suite shower was leaking for so long we check obsessively every time we use it because instead of investigating the cause, the leak was diverted with layer upon layer of silicone it ended up leaking through the ceiling, tracing the wiring into……the fuse box that was also wired incorrectly so it could have given us a nasty shock. We expect to see water leaking from the showers so we daren’t even lay any flooring in the bathrooms so at least we have a heads up before we end up with another fire risk. We shouldn’t have to be living like this with bare wood on the bathroom floors! The rear gate is attached to the shared back fence not to a post in the ground and the ironmongery is on the wrong side of the gate so we couldn’t attach any form of security measure to it even if we wanted to. The list goes on. They know about it all but no one listens. We’ve complained, we’ve escalated, we’ve begged and we’ve pleaded but 16 months later we are still in what we consider an unfinished house. When we’ve put all our savings into it and have no spare money to fix things ourselves in a house that was significantly delayed, that should have been our forever family home. It’s just not right. We are exhausted by the whole process of chasing snagging work, being ignored and belittled. I’ve even had some contractors tell me that they’ve heard from customer service reps that I’m causing a fuss and being a nightmare, as if its me asking for issues to be fixed properly that is the problem in this situation. So much so they’ve been apprehensive about coming to my home. I’ve never lost my temper with any staff member, kept my calm and been respectful. I’ve being in floods of tears on the phone to the MDs PA in a desperate bid for escalated support and even turned up at the front door of their head office to speak to someone above their head of customer services who had ignored us for months to try to get some action from higher up. That also didn’t work and we were forced to go no contact with Charlotte for my own mental health believing it to be her to blame when it’s seems it’s actually company policy to treat customers like this. Wish I had lost my s**t with them, wish that I had kicked off. I’d love nothing more than a therapeutic scream and shout on the phone but I don’t, it always falls on deaf ears anyway so it probably wouldn't make any difference how I conducted myself but I don’t. It’s a sham of a company and I don’t think my house will be worth anything in the state it’s in so it’s not like we have any choice but to live with it and attempt to fix the issues over time. It shouldn’t have to be like this. I know we’re not the only ones who have had issues the same as ours, I’ve spoken to several people on many of BDV sites and unfortunately it’s the way they conduct their business. They aren’t even ashamed of it. Please, if you read this when thinking about buying a house from BDV or Avant - however they present themselves, just don’t. Don’t do it. Choose a reputable developer with good customer services. If they lie to you from the start like we experienced from this company, follow your gut and think twice, we wish we had. Save yourselves!

He gave us a really nice warm welcome and provided us with all the information we needed to know about this location. He showed us around a few different options and did an amazing job at letting us know our options and what future plans were up and coming for this development. What could have been a potentially overwhelming experience turned into a lovely experience and we left feeling excited and at ease (and less overwhelmed)! Great job Lewis!
