AN EXPEREIENCE FROM AVANT HOMES FAMOUSLY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER CUSTOMER.OMG!just recently got my avant house this month april 2023.the design of the house is what i wanted but the level of quality i am speechless at..infact im shocked and upset how poor it is for a new build. i called the after care service ANGELA HENDRIE took my call and instantly noticed i am not talking to a professional employee and not a nice person in the whole of things. she wouldn't let me explain anything and asked her colleague if she wanted half her kit kat biscuit during the call then had a giggle then spoke over me while i was talking and said look this is simple put a complaint in on the website.so left the call and wrote a complaint on the avant website..i got an email back from surprisingly Angela the same day from my complaint saying sorry you feel this way i advise you speak to nhbc about the problems and that the house had already passed a quality control on site.

Would give it 0 if it let meNever buy a home from these cowboys. 3 years of them doing road works on our estate (babington quarter Derbyshire) and I have had 3 nails in my tyres in this period of timeToday, I have a popped tyre from a raised water drain which had no cone over it, and no letter from P Hughes (who are also shocking) or avant to say there will be raised drains. Furious and will be claiming !

After 6 months we still haven't got a washer door (we paid £800 extra of integrated washer) or undercounter lights which we also paid extra for. Our velux windows were installed incorrectly, and not been addressed, there are many more snags also, we email weekly, put in formal complaint but not had a response in 2 months

Within first month into my new avant home we realised a high number of issues to which we had only named half of them to avant as snags. I tried adding more snags on but avant have been extreme hard work to speak with about the extra issues we found.I have had to take a week off work to paint the ground floor of the open plan house. Its been a dreadful week for me as i hate DIY and painting! i have had to remove all sockets, switches & mask up skirtings, kitchen units, my flooring the lot to paint the walls as avant only paint your new walls with a prime coat of white emulsion which after some time looks awful white chalky and not that white, we bought into Avant's exclusive white paint on the walls and i can say its 100% a marketing lie, its simply white crown emulsion paint i promise you this ! 1 whole week off work to get this sorted this has peed me well off.i didn't plan or expect to pay avant £320,000 to take days off my work to paint my bloody walls then clean it all the mess up. To add avant had fitted us a garage to hall door which they never came bk to paint,i had to fill, caulk, sand & paint the frame and architraves myself at my expense or i was living with a brown mdf finish door frame. avant has ben ignoring my emauls about this job for months now,i email them about the paint work to be done asking whats happening, and avant email me back saying thanks for your email kenny. that's it, same email over and over and that take 50 days to come in, lol angela head of customer services needs the boot shes useless and a major b**** she was on site not to long ago smoking a ciggie in car and flicked it out her car window onto the street where she sells houses. shes a vile person.

It’s been issue after issue with avant. Iv been in the house nearly 5 years, people on the estate longer. AND STILL NOT COMPELTED ROADS AND PAVEMENTS!! 5 years!!!!

Starts out a good experience, sales team we're very helpful and all was good until Avant got there money then it went down hill rapidly. Customer services are totally useless, there after care is extremely poor, constantly chasing them to rectify faults with the house which took us nearly two years to get sorted. But the major fault with the house they are refusing to sort which is the soakaway isn't big enough and my garden floods with the water that the soakaway can't cope with, they've been told no end of times by the professionals they get in that this is the issue but choose not to sort the problem.My advise would be don't bother putting yourself through all the stress and heartache and do not buy an Avant home.

Bought an Avant home when it was about 3 years old and absolutely love it. Avant arranged for a contractor to come and do some work on the pavements, the contractor smashed into the lighting bollard on my front garden. I contacted the contractor first and no response so contacted Avant who ignored me, made up excuses for not responding to any of my emails in their timescales and eventually said they couldn’t help because I hadn’t raised the “snag” within the first two years! Laughable that they clearly don’t know what snagging is and expected me to raise something within two years, when it hadn’t happened and I didn’t live in the house! Just unbelievable response from a company and I can’t believe a business can get away with behaving like this.

Disgraceful ! Our house is an absolute mess after 5 years. Please beware of their dirty tactics.This companies staff members have been found on Avant unhappy customers Facebook group & using tactics to belittle,already unhappy customers. Even though the statement for that group states “ no Avant staff are welcome on this group “. The unhappy customers are totally unhappy with how they have been treat, why would the company further goad these people.They will refuse to help you, just 1 day over the “2 year runaway from the customer period. Please please do not believe their glossy pictures. Find out off past customers 35% are totally unhappy & others have had terrible problems with this company! Worst decision we ever made. Disgraceful!

Its a real shame I can't give a 0 star review for Avant, as that's truly all they deserve. The sales process felt very rushed, and led down multiple rabbit holes regarding product specification and unrealistic completion dates (moved 4 months later than planned). Torneley Quarter currently resembles a swamp, with the building storage/compound looking an absolute shambles, with mud and materials strewn all over. Looks a disgrace.Unfortunately, the issues intensified following completion, due to the appalling build quality and lack of interest from after-sales/customer services. 6 months on, none of the major issues have been rectified. I have been passed through numerous coordinators, managers and site representatives, with little/no success. Major issues around plasterwork, bodged repairs, brickwork/pointing, damaged work surfaces and sinks (x2), damaged front door and frame, ill-fitting garage door due to poor workmanship of bricklayers, multiple ceiling defects have been reported multiple times, with no real progress.Multiple contractors/visiting trades have visited the house and sent reports back to Avant, but nothing is ever followed up. Many have commented on the poor finish and atrocious brickwork. It seems to be an endless cycle of issues, which I keep finding, the more time I spend at the property. In hindsight, I would've avoided Avant at all costs, as in recent years, they seem to have gone drastically down hill. Avoid at all costs.

From long delays in the building of our property, to the lack of communication in the delays (leading to very expensive hotels needed to bridge the gap in moving in), Avant have continuously been an awful company to deal with.It says a lot about a company when they have a high turn over of sales and support teams. We had 4 different sales contacts, each having less and less experience and understanding of the company and its processes.After sales support is non existent for us. Despite having 183 major snags (including a hole 40cm in the roof - only found because I am a drone pilot and took a camera onto the roof). Other snags include poorly installed flooring which bows 2cm in paces around the rooms, sockets not installed correctly with wires visible around the kitchen sink, guttering which angles away from the down pipe, and bathroom installations where the units aren’t installed or proofed correctly (including badly installed flooring).Despite following their complaints process, they have failed to follow their own guidance and have not yet (currently 6 months in) replied with a plan to rectify the issues - roof being a major one).The quality of the build is just enough in most parts to pass inspection, I don’t know how the roof passed. Walls out of square by 2-5 degrees, surface finishes with just a prime coat of paint and kitchens so badly designed and produced and using cheap parts, that the handles cut your fingers when using them (I smoothed them myself with abrasive paper, and on snagging day the actual lead builder and the snagging team wanted to know how I’d done it to apply to the other kitchens on the estate! - a widely known issue!)

As with all builders, you will experience delays, and yes you will have snags,.and stupid faults.On our site, Alex,Del and his team have been amazing , the team are soo approachable and would go above , to make your home a.home, to get your snags sorted, and.if we have any issues in.the future, Id like to think they would still help, we love the house and the estate is lovely.

I'm annoyed that I'm having to write this, but I have no choice. I feel like Avant are trying to drag out issues I have until its gone past the 2 year date so they don't have the responsibility anymore. My toilet was never secured to the floor correctly, not bolted at all on one side, and almost had people falling off as it could be lifted off the floor. I didn't notice this when I first moved in as I didn't try to lift my toilets off the floor. Avant sent round Alan Wood Plumbing to rectify this issue, in which the employee GLUED my toilet to the floor. I ask if this is the correct procedure to which he said yes. A.W Plumbing called a week or so later to ask if it has been rectified. I explained what 'work' had been done to which they said 'No, this needs securing properly'. This was some time last year. I explained on the phone that I have notice there's a tiny crack appeared in the toilet. AWP said it will need replacing and didn't send anyone round to inspect for months - hence the crack becoming bigger. I was told by Avant in December that they had processed the order for a new toilet and were waiting for AWP to complete the works. AWP told me they were waiting for the go ahead. After going back and forth for months I called Avant to see what's going on to be told there's nothing on the system.. I've said multiple times when I've called to make sure its logged. I was told someone would contact me, but unfortunately was fobbed with an email saying because I didn't report it in the first 7 days moving in that they won't complete the works. There was no crack when I first moved in which I'm now being accused of causing! I'm disgusted at this, as this has going on for about 9 months and I was told my toilet would be replaced.. I haven't been able to use it in this time. The employee who decided to glue my toilet to the floor could have dropped something in the bowl for all I know, but it was not me and I live alone! I had no choice but to complain and I received an email from Nikki accusing me of causing the crack and saying shes closing the case. Before I even had chance to replied I was email the next day essentially saying 'case closed'. Appalling service.I have ignored some issues like my front window being scratched before I even moved in because they just aren't being sorted. This still needs replacing and has been reported about 6 times. My slab path next to my drive has been "rectified" twice and all of my slabs are still loose. The 'dot and dab' method, on what looks like soil, was used on the slabs and none of them are NHBC standard. I was lied to by a lady on the phone who said all the slabs on my development are 'dot and dab and not fully bedded'. Except every other slab on mine and my neighbors property is fully bedded with concrete and a decent sub base... My toilet is the main priority for obvious reasons, however all of these issues need sorting. I cannot believe I've been told it was going to be replaced and now isn't. I waited patiently for months because I know you can get a lot of grief, but maybe I should have kicked off and got the work done.

we bought an avant home,its nice home but avant are terrible with us.nothing gets done,i don't mean it takes alot of time i mean nothing gets done we have been avoided by avant.then when you acutely point out there avoidance in writing avant ask you to contact nhbc.its the biggest palava.we wouldn't be asking for snags to be repaired if the house was in a decent condition at the beginning. you look forward to completion date after waiting months,avant tell you all the things you point out that aren't right in the house will be repaired,they send round someone to fix a few things on the list then they vanish into thin air.Good luck buying with avant homes you will need it.sales staff are ok at the point your willing to be patient to secure your house.once your in your house customer services are slow and pointless they cant be bothered with you and site managers really cant be bothered with you.

arrived at sales office for scheduled appointment.avant staff was late by 25 minutes with another customer...no apology or sincereness from staff at all for keeping us waiting that long outside.staff had little information about the plots we were asking about. while we were sitting chatting the door was chapped by a customer who had already bought a house on the site was asking sales staff if they would get customer support services to contact him regarding snag work to be done as customer services was ignoring him.avant sales staff asked him to leave and closed the door on him while he was still talking,it was very unprofessional and we actually felt sorry for that polite spoken customer who seems to be having troubles with avant homes.it wasn't a good experience.we were told we would receive an email with more information and we didn't get the email sadly.my wife called back to pay a reserve fee on the plot and she was told the plot was already reserved and been taken off the list.very disappointing and unformal service from avant. we were not taking seriously and missed out.once we had the email information we were going to reserve.
