Simpsons managed our rental in Abingdon for 4 years and did a great job. Joe and Jake were really effective at making sure the house was always tenanted, everything was up to regulation, and dealing with requests from tenants and organising maintenance. The fact they're based locally in Abingdon made a huge difference. They know the area, have great relationships with local tradespeople, and can get to the property quickly if needed. This really showed when we had a tricky situation with a tenant at the end of a tenancy. Joe and Jake handled it brilliantly - kept us informed, dealt with everything professionally, and got us through what could have been a nightmare. Really appreciated their experience and calm approach during a stressful time. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for property management in Abingdon. Responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful.

Successful sale of 4-bed detached at good price and in good time. Despite some delays by the buyer, their solicitor and the developers estate management, Ben Harris from Simpson’s communicated clearly and frequently throughout. I have dealt with Simpsons Abingdon branch twice now, both experiences have been positive experiences. I'd like to tank Emily in branch especially as she has been a pleasure to have had involved in my home purchase. My property purchase was somewhat complicated and unique and Emily has constantly been able to reply to queries within her working hours, with either the answers or the honesty to say she doesn't know and would find out (due to the unique purchase), and then be in contact later with an answer or an update on finding the answer. I always felt kept in the loop and in communication, but having completed today, and thinking back, I mostly I feel that Emily genuinely gave considerable time and consideration to both me and also the sellers. So, thank you Emily, for your care, consideration and perseverance. I felt like I was your only buyer, which I know I wasn't, but I hope that says enough.

We put our house on the market with Simpsons in 2017 but had to cancel for personal reasons. Stewart was very understanding and we made a promise to go with Simpsons when we were ready to sell again. We found our dream home by chance this year and needed to market our house quickly in order to bid on the other house. Simpsons handled the sale and our house was on the market within a few days. Stewart, Adam and Matt were so accommodating and helpful, handling communication between all parties, enabling a smooth as possible sale. Nothing was too much trouble for them and on 14 June 24 we moved into our forever home, thanks to the team at Simpsons. Having just completed on our dream home, it is all down to Simpsons Estate agents. Stewart Simpson, Adam and the rest of their fantastic team were brilliant throughout buying our new house as well as selling our previous one. Without Stewart I really don't think we would have got the property we brought. His input is much appreciated. Adam was awesome during our viewings, not pushy or pressing just there if we needed him. They kept us informed at all times with Stewart often answering my random questions at all manner of times and day. Quite simply they are the best estate agent I have ever used and I have used several across the country. 6 years ago, Stewart from Simpsons sold my mothers house so I didn't hesitate to use him again for selling her recent house in the Abingdon area. The app used for informing about viewings was very helpful but equally phone calls about viewings were prompt and informative. The valuation was fair and very soon after going on the market we had several offers to choose from. Stewart and Matt were very efficient in pushing the buyers when the process stalled and keeping me updated throughout the process. I would highly recommend Simpsons to anyone.

I originally wrote the review below 6 years ago. Ever since then Simpsons have continued to do an excellent job renting my house out and yesterday finally selling it. Everything said in my original review still stands. Stewart, Joe, Adam, Jake, Matt and Emily are a wonderful team… an excellent company. I can’t recommend them highly enough. If you’re buying, selling or renting, don’t go anywhere else. They’re the best. Many thanks to you all. Simpsons have been excellent both on the sales and lettings side. They've worked extremely efficiently, have always given me accurate information, have excellent knowledge of the local market and they're always polite and courteous. They're extremely thorough, always answer emails promptly, and are open on Sundays which is a great bonus. I'd absolutely recommend them to anyone selling or renting and have already mentioned them to several friends and neighbours. As someone else has commented, it's great to deal with a local company.

As a buyer, had a good experience dealing with both Ben and Ella-Jayne from start to finish, with very regular check-ins so we knew what was going on. Always happy to help, polite, friendly, prompt replies, and good advice. We used Simpsons to sell our house in a village just outside Abingdon, they were very helpful and professional and listened to what we wanted from the sale. Unfortunately because of the market conditions we did have to take it off the market for a year, but then returned to Simpsons to re-market it. They updated the photos etc. and put it back on the market. Within a couple of weeks we had an acceptable offer. We used the conveyancer they recommended and found them also very professional and helpful. The actual conveyancing process proved to be somewhat protracted, through no fault of Simpsons or ourselves, but throughout Matt kept both us and the conveyancer updated and I believe went beyond the normal intervention to progress the sale. I have no difficulty in recommending Simpsons as an agent to sell your property through, all staff were well briefed and up to date with the details of our sale process throughout the journey, Stewart has an excellent team working for him.

Simpsons are an award winning independent estate agents, and deservedly so. So often it is the independent local estate agent that really knows the market best. We have been buy-to-let landlords in Abingdon for 8 years, and have used Joe Hodgson (through four agencies!) through all that time - a real friend as well as a knowledgeable professional. When we came to sell, Simpsons was the obvious choice, and Stuart was great to work with, helped by a very reliable staff. We couldn't recommend this company more... Right from the start they were professional, friendly and very helpful. Adam on viewings and Stewart called us twice out of hours to confirm information at the start. We then dealt with Matt who couldn't have done more to help us through a rather complex sale involving a totally useless Solicitor and two other Estate agents who we hardly heard from at all after the initial dealings in appointing them to sell two properties for us. We were actually buying a house that Simpsons were selling so we weren't even their Client but the support we received was faultless and endless and we're not sure we would have completed yet if Matt hadn't been so proactive in getting everyone else involved moving. We can't thank you enough for helping us through a very traumatic six months. We would definitely use this Company ourselves if we ever recover and think about moving house again in the future! After dreading the whole gruelling selling and buying process, we were delighted to discover that both went through extremely smoothly, we were so impressed at how quickly we were able to sell our property through Simpsons, especially as the housing market isn’t very buoyant at the moment! The team, Stewart, Matt and Jake were always very professional, polite and courteous throughout the whole process, they went above and beyond and couldn’t do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. If we were ever to sell up and move again (though, we have both said this is the very last time!), I would not hesitate to use Simpsons Estate Agents again and would definitely recommend them to anyone who would like an efficient and stress free (well almost, we couldn’t get them to do our packing!) moving experience! I rarely write a review online but when you get the service that Simpsons provided to me for our recent house sale I feel they deserve something in return - and if therefore I can repay some of the value they gave me over and above the fee paid by doing so then I am happy to oblige. I chose Simpsons based on the reviews and awards they seemed to be getting - and now I have completed our sale I can understand why they are getting them. I have previously sold a couple of houses, dreaded the process, laboured through the paperwork and struggled with the sale. Simpsons however provided a genuinely interested focus, personalised the conversations we had, related decisions to options and provided advice all the way through. We achieved a sale in a difficult market, at a price we truly understood and then completed the sale at a speed I have never seen a solicitor move before with very few issues. Stewart himself showed his personal involvement in the sale on multiple occasions and was always available when I really needed. I hope by providing the review and encouraging more business for Stewart and the team I can show how much the service meant to me and help someone else have a positive experience in an otherwise minefield situation of trying to sell a house. Vote with your feet, there is great personal service from an Estate Agent out there after all.
