When we decided to sell our home of 36 years and move to Devon, we contacted three estate agents in Abingdon to give us a valuation and explain the selling procedure to us. They were all very professional and sympathetic to our requirements. We chose Stewart at Davis Tate because he had been recommended to us and his charges were more favourable. Also, he was very understanding of our time schedule and worked very hard to achieve our goal. Nothing was too much trouble and the communication between us, including his assistant, was excellent. The sale went very smoothly and we are now starting a new adventure in East Devon. Thank you to Stewart and his team.

Cannot rate them highly enough! Stewart and his team did a fantastic job of selling our house really quickly, and the whole process was very simple. We were kept updated all the way through, and even though we were not purchasing with Davis Tate, Stewart was able to give us much more information on our purchase, in a much shorter time than the agent who was handling it. Nothing was too much trouble. Would have no hesitation in recommending them!

Very impressed with Dominic Gurden who filtered and arranged meetings with the applicants for my house which I am letting in Abingdon. May thanks to Stewart at Davis Tate for the sale of our house. From my initial enquiry which was answered within 10 minutes and in the evening I knew that Davis Tate would be the right choice and never considered using another agent. The service I received was second to none and I was kept informed every step of the way. Stewart and Joel worked on viewings and feed back which ensured the house was sold within 5 months. When our first sale fell through they managed to get 4 viewings the next day and another sale within 2 days, impressive! I would not hesitate to recommend their services and will use them again in the future.

I've been really impressed with the service we received from Stewart and the team at Davis Tate's Abingdon branch. They always answered my calls and requests promptly and Stewart went out of his way to keep in contact - sometimes on occasions when he wasn't supposed to be working. Poor at responding and will try and take as much deposit as possible

Be very careful in recording everything upon moving in. We took very good care of our property, flagging by email the state that we had inherited it but Davis and Tate took an age to correct anything and multiple chasers (re: evidence of rats, leaking drain pipes etc.). Upon moving out they tried to take £900 of our deposit. These featured charges like £5 for lampshades as they were in different rooms to where they were (note all the lampshades were still in the house). I'd steer well clear if possible.

August 2018 Very Disappointing! On their website it is claimed: “Phil’s enthusiasm and passion for exemplary customer service has built him a solid reputation and repeat clients.” I am afraid to say our experience was very different. Let me hasten to say at the outset that I am well aware that the housing market is very sluggish right now and my complaint is not about Davis Tate’s failure to sell our property. After our first meeting I was very hopeful, as Phil seemed to be living up to his reputation for providing enthusiastic customer service and we agreed to give him sole agency for four weeks. After we had approved the photographs, it was nearly a week before anything appeared online. (With our new agents it took just a couple of hours.) It took another three weeks before our house featured on the advertisement board at the Davis Tate offices in Abingdon. At our initial meeting, we asked, and Phil agreed, to leave a business card each time he brought clients to the house. Not once did this happen. He did bring clients around on a number of occasions but, unless we phoned him and asked, we were never offered any feedback. We had no idea what potential buyers did or did not like. Just as the 4 week sole agency was about to expire, Phil telephoned to ask if he could bring clients around the following Saturday. Naturally we agreed. The same thing happened the following week, so again we agreed. At this point we were about to go on holiday for 3 weeks so it was not feasible to bring other estate agents on board at that stage. After deciding to reduce the asking price to expedite the sale, my husband went in to see Phil. At this meeting he enquired why no ‘For Sale’ signs had been erected at our property. Phil claimed he hadn’t realised this was the case which, in my view, is unacceptable, it is part of the service one expects and he did have one made within a couple of days. After returning from holiday, my husband emailed Phil to inform him that we were revoking his sole agency which by this time had lasted for 10 rather than 4 weeks. He did not have the courtesy to respond. Within 48 hours of that email however, our online adverts had been removed and our ‘For Sale’ notice had been removed from the Davis Tate window; in that regard he was very quick and efficient. So, for all these reasons my advice would be to go elsewhere if you are serious about getting good service and selling your house.
