All properties listed on Rightmove I have ever enquired about are already sold, what a waste of everyone's time. Including those they emailed me about today. They said "no house starting with a £3 is actually available"??? Apparently they do this to "take details in case the sale falls though" why not just put them as STC then? I dont understand why they use this approach just puts me off ever using them or enquiring again.

Have been in work contact with Chancellors for the past few months and I have a great experience, never had any problem, Nicola Ferguson is amazing and make communication very efficient and smooth. It's a pleasure to work with them! Highly recommended.

So a PINAC reporter was recording this agents shop from a public foot path to high light how estate agencies breach GDPR on a daily basis by having sensitive customer information on display with pc’s facing out toward the public, and rather than discuss the situation immediately get defensive bordering on aggressive toward the reporter filming, and rather than listen to what he had to say, decide to cut him off and walk back in contacting the police, thinking they will remove his rights, anyway that didn’t work so Chancellors of Abingdon get 1 star for poor public courtesy, communication skills and of course for remaining to breach data protection. They then decided to lodge a baseless complaint on YouTube when clearly their in the wrong, hopefully fellow auditors will visit them more frequently until they do decide to resolve the matter. Quite easily resolvable, get some privacy guards between the pc’s and shop fronts guys. Check out Auditing Britain’s channel on YTNegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. As we have previously mentioned in our replies to other reviews, we take any GDPR concerns very seriously and have started taking action to address the concerns you have mentioned. Clearly it is not normal for a member of the public to film their interactions with us without prior consent to do so. We hope and trust that any viewer of said video would take this into consideration when forming a view on this interaction.

I recently moved to the UK from Canada and contacted the Chancellors office in Abingdon to look for a place to live. Elizabeth Bissessar was incredibly helpful in both finding a suitable place for me and for helping me navigate all the paperwork that goes into renting an UK residence as a newcomer. Thank you Elizabeth for all your extra effort. And thanks to the great team at the Abingdon office.

So many keyboard warriors sharing bad reviews on the data protection issue. What about the data protection issue created by the person filming who decided to post it on the internet? Um, pot, kettle, black? Honestly, what a total jobsworth -- did he have nothing better to do? Crack on Chancellors Abingdon, you're doing a great job. We had an incredibly positive experience with Chancellors when we sold our house through them a little while ago, and they've responded extremely professionally to the frankly ludicrous claims here. Any person with a shred of common sense will see these 'John Doe' reviews here for what they actually are.

Daniel Freeman himself was great in branch and very easy to get hold of the whole time we were letting a property through Chancellors. However, once the paperwork is signed you don't talk to the people in branch but to people in a centralised office and they are terrible. We got bounced between people who didn't know anything about our property, and that's if we got through at all. We often left messages and emailed and were ignored. But if we missed a call from them we were sure to get a snarky email about how "hard to contact" we were. We were repeatedly asked the same questions and got many calls trying to get us to buy through them once we'd sold out house no matter how many time we told them we weren't interested. Chancellors also failed to organise any repairs on the house requested by the tenants and us, saying they needed to get a quote and then ghosting us. The tenants requested a simple gate fix in December that was never organised by Chancellors before they moved out in August, despite us constantly chasing them. Chancellors also took money from the rent without warning us or asking permission and it took weeks of calling them to get them to explain what this was for. Its probably not the staff themselves that caused these problems but the system of having a centralised office of people who have to work on various areas and with various people without anyone getting to build a relationship or knowledge of the case. We were letting our property through Chancellors and marketing it for sale through them at the same time. Some of the staff at Chancellors were rude about the other agent we were marketing the house with but the other agent got ten times the number of viewings Chancellors did and they were the ones who sold the house. Basically the people in branch are great but get ready to never talk to them again once you sign anything. Terrible service that made everything much more stressful than it needed to be. Would avoid and not recommend to anyone.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality

I moved into a flat recently and chancellors lied to me about a number of things, my flat is £750 a month plus bills. They said there was heating and gas connected and they lied, multiple times in writing, they also forgot to write in tenancy that they gave my neighbours upstairs a key to my property to access my flat whilst I'm out, they lied about this over and over again until the neighbours actually locked me in my own flat because they 'arent comfortable with my background and me being on benefits' (one of the male students was caught peering through my window as I changed and weirdly chancellors have tricked me and caused me to be completely suicidal due to what they have done to me, I got this place in seek of refuge and chancellors EXPLOITED me.

We had a viewing booked on a property in chalgrove 2 weeks ago - we had arranged childcare and were on our way to the viewing to then receive a phone call from the branch saying the viewing was cancelled as the property was already under offer and had been for over 2 weeks - when I asked why they accepted our viewing request they couldn’t give me an answer. Over the next couple of days I phoned up multiple times about visiting other properties they were listing, and was always told “I’ll get someone to call you back”. Never heard anything. Would absolutely avoid this estate agency. Totally unreliable and unprofessional and wasted lots of our time. Luckily we’ve found a gorgeous new home with another agency

Jayne Morris - Jayne first dealt with the letting of my house when she worked in Kington Office but then she moved to Chancellors head office but I am very pleased she is still looking after my property as I am more than happy with how professional and courteous Jayne is. Any matter arising with regards to my property is always dealt with immediately and I know I can rely on Jayne.

My review is specific to the lightwater branch. Bad mannered, unprofessional and incompetent are the words I would use to describe the staff. They found me buyers back in June who have still not signed their contracts along with the buyer at the bottom of the chain. There are 4 others in the chain above and we have all signed and are ready to exchange contracts. The managers have not replied to the last 2 emails I sent asking them to get this resolved. The whole process since signing up with them has been far from satisfactory. Wrong price on the house, wrong details and a complete disregard for me as a customer. The manager, in particular, seems to think it is beneath her to deal with customers once they have signed up. I have never dealt with a company before who refuse to answer emails from their customers. My job involved dealing with estate agents and in 15 years I never came across behaviour like this. I wish I never signed up with them.

We recently viewed a couple of properties with Tom and he was friendly, helpful and knowledgable - really listening to what we were looking for and taking this on board to help us find a home. We even got a surprise mystery house viewing he managed to squeeze in while we were in the neighbourhood - I can't recommend him enough.

Was approached by a follicly-challenged gentleman as soon as I started perusing the properties available at Chancellors Estate Agents at Abingdon. I wasn't greeted in the customary welcoming manner, but APPROACHED! He didn't introduce himself nor offered any help on the services they offered. Came across as overly pushy, just because I had the audacity to look at the properties which THEY WERE DISPLAYING FROM THEIR OWN WINDOW! In the end I decided to take my business to a more reputable, less pushy establishment. I won't be approached like that when I'm a potential customer! Also of note, private details where visible on his computer screen, so were in breach of data protection and GDPR! Speaks volumes about this branch and probably the company as a whole, one can only hope a European Court fines them for their unsecured data storage. I'm glad I went elsewhere (Another local estate agents, who were very friendly, welcoming, full of information and incidentally where I found my new dream home!)

George showed us round several places when we were desperate, and other estate agents were taking no interest. We didn't get the houses we made an offer on in the end, but our experience of George was good throughout - professional, prompt and helpful. We'll definitely return to this agency to continue the search.

This company seem to think they operate by different standards than other estate and letting agents. Had a bad experience when purchasing our home through them as they would not take our house off of the market until the moment we exchanged. And now trying to rent a property through them, they delayed getting back to me for so long the house I was interested in has been let and they wouldn't consider me anyway as I am reliant on my ex husband to pay the rent as I am a stay at home mum with 2 small kids despite other companies being happy with him as a guarantor. Would never deal with this company again.
