It was very easy to book an appointment with a solicitor via phone call yesterday and I came in for my appointment today to meet a solicitor called Amy. She was a very helpful and polite person who helped me with the documents I needed. The office's are clean, tidy and well kept, the staff are all nice people and they seem to be a busy establishment with lots of customers. Thank you Amy and start. It was good to have a professional business help me as all other legal businesses kept telling me they only deal with existing clients which was very disappointing. But this business was very welcoming. Big thumbs up..

I have dealt with Jade Shepperdson for over 12 years now for the letting of our flats in Aberdeen and have always had first class service from her and also John Sherwood in her absence. They are highly responsive, always keeping me informed at every stage of the process and also keeping us up to date with letting regulations, etc. I can’t recommend the letting team highly enough.

As a first time buyer, everyone involved with helping me purchase my first home was superb! I had excellent support and advice from Nikki on how to make sure I get the best mortgage before Chris and the team got to work on ensuring my offer was accepted, and I had the keys in hand as soon as possible. I couldn’t recommend Aberdein Considine highly enough for those looking to buy, it was so smooth and easier than I could have possibly dreamed it would be to get my ideal flat.

I found that I am not alone when seeing the 1-star comment here which related to the legal team's approach. My concern stems from their insistence on moving directly to the legally binding contract stage without a clear preliminary agreement in place. This felt premature and disregarded my needs and the seller's initial understanding. Specifically, the lawyer repeatedly urged me to proceed to the contract phase, mentioning this pressure three times. (her words also showed her rudeness and impatience - this is the third time that I have asked you for this) but we didn't agree on anything, actually I and the seller preliminary agreed with some terms, but a lawyer jumped in and said this was not common practice for under offer. I think as long as this is legitimate and we both agree for some reasons, why do we have to border the norms, she just doesn't want to reconfirm our understanding (yes, she replied normally within 5 minutes) then push me to contract stage. This pushy attitude made me uncomfy, as it seemed to prioritise their fees over facilitating a mutually beneficial agreement. Their stance, that our preliminary understanding was not 'normal practice,' felt dismissive. While I found the estate agent team to be acceptable, despite some errors, the legal team's lack of professionalism and apparent self-interest has led me to conclude that I cannot recommend their legal services. I can imagine they don't really care about the customer, like thinking if this isn't the buyer, someone else will come along.

This was our first transaction in Scotland, so the whole process was new for us. From the beginning, they were very approachable, always available, clear with their advice and extremely friendly. They are quite the opposite to the picture that people can have about solicitors. When there were challenges with the other party in the process, Aberdein Considine were exceptional in ensuring corners were not cut, and the best outcome was reached. There were 4 members of their team involved in different parts of the process. Each member was first class in their role, and their internal communication was excellent. There was not one occasion where the ball was dropped, or messages missed. Very impressive team, with a particular mention for Samantha Gilbert who was always able take the tension out of a stressful period. Needless to say, big thanks to Aberdein Considine and we would certainly recommend them.

A competent firm that delivered what was required, but no more. There was no real sense of representing my interests; it felt more like they prioritised their own interests. Their fees and charges were among the most expensive in the city (Aberdeen), however, their services lacked flexibility and they tended to do things their way with limited regard to their client's preferences. I will almost certainly use another firm for legal and conveyancing services in the future.

We used Aberdeein Considine for the sale and purchase of our new home and can honestly say it was the most stress free move we have ever made. Chris Comfort was excellent and worked round our working ours for signing of documents, phone calls etc. He came highly recommended and did not disappoint at all.

A huge thank you to Lauren Docherty, Tyler McLean, Amy Dignon, Erin Carchrie and anyone else who was involved in the sale of my flat. You made it so easy for me. The service was oustanding.

We sold our flat in order to upgrade to a larger property with the support of Aberdeen Considine. The staff there ensured that the process of selling and securing another property was as stress free as possible, through the use of viewing agents who handled showcasing of our flat, through the handing of the mortgage, insurance and entire legal processes. Our flat sold in just over 3 weeks, and in less than a month we were in our new home. I couldn't have asked for a lesser hassle free service. Thank you Aberdeen Considine.

Charge 33% higher selling fees than others and send your private details to the wrong email address. Awaited a home visit 'valuation' as they can't tell you the commission percentage over the phone - wonder why?! After a 2 week wait for visit had to chase them up for the valuation - told me they sent it with all my personal details to someone elses email!! Then Scott forwarded me a generic template letter with NO details describing my property at all, unlike other est agents managed to, with a valuation 10% below what other firms valued my property at. Tried to say the decor (Newly decorated) and fitting a new kitchen (Already good condition) would increase it by £15k (Yet a driveway, garage, new windows & doors and new bathroom doesn't?) Can't recommend. Property is the biggest purchase / sale you'll make and it needs to be done right, and with your information kept private

As a first time buyer the whole legal process was fairly daunting but this branch made in particular Sophie was a valuable source of information for the start. Responsive and informative, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you Sophie and Scott ⭐️

From start to finish Aberdein Considine provided a fantastic service. Responsive, diligent and really showed that they cared. Our solicitor was Chris Comfort and he really did go above and beyond to ensure the sale of the property went smoothly and gave grade A advice and support throughout. Also, a special mention to Nikki Hempseed who ensured we got the best possible price. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

I have called twice now & still haven't received a call back. It was yourselves that sent me a text asking to call you. Could you not just send me a letter explaining why you need to speak with me as i work everyday and it is not always convenient to answer. Thank Ian Calderwood.

I have had many dealings with Aberdein Considine over the last four years with regards to my late parents. They have always been able to help me with any legal enquiry I have had and were able to sort out any problems which may have occurred during our dealings. The company has always acted in a professional manner and as I live in Australia have been patient and understanding regarding the delays which happen, especially during the recent pandemic.

Really happy with the services. This was my first time purchasing a house and Aberdein Considine (Mortgage and conveyancing) was very helpful throughout the process and gave me all of the information needed at various stages. I had a free Mortgage advise appointment with Paul Gregory (Mortgage adviser) who gave me all of the information needed regarding the local market and available mortgages considering my affordability. After my mortgage has been confirmed, Aberdein Considine conveyancing team helped me to buy the property.

Stay away from them. They will appear as the least pricey among what seems the group of top-companies. Again: stay away, they are not worth it! It's an arrogant company that will stop dealing with you once you signed up with them. Their quality of work might be up to required level but they certainly don't have you, the customer in mind when communicating. Approach them with great mistrust and ask as many questions. Be happy when they answer anything. In fact, they will decide not to respond to your questions and not share information nor documents. Customer service means NOT to translate legal language for you. They are the classic old-men club, 'modern times' have not happened at this company. Modern forms of marketing are only slowly adopted. Their timing is often very off - you need to push them all along, otherwise they won't do a thing. That does include their property-showing process (such poor service is what you get when they don't charge you for it) and the handling of paper work.

Agent replied

Hi Katja, thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience. We are disappointed to hear that you are not satisfied with the service you received from our Union Street branch. We would like to work towards a resolution, so if you are willing, please reach out to me directly on 01224 337395 to discuss your concerns further. I was surprised by your remark about our marketing techniques, as we are one of the few firms to have an in-house digital marketing team. The people in this team dedicate their entire time to publishing articles and social media content to ensure that properties on the market with us reach the largest possible audience. This approach, blended with our weekly itinerary across traditional media platforms, puts our properties in front of more than 1.5million people every month. I would also politely refute your 'old men club' remark, as would our Managing Partner (a woman) and the 20 female Partner & Associate Partners who run and contribute so much to our business. Kind regards, Ryan.

10 stars plus! A great team that work together to give an excellent service. I have periodically used Aberdein Considine for buying / selling / renting and cannot fault them. A nice friendly first class team who are efficient and helpful. More importantly they know the market and always work to achieve the best for you whatever the current circumstances are.

Horrible experience. ON MY DAY ONE, the charged me for the repair of a faulty and old door lock. I was locked out of my room and everything I had was in there. I even had to ask people on the streets in the COLD to use their phones to call them and they said it wasn’t an EMERGENCY!!! I couldn’t even buy food or water for hours!!! They weren’t even planning to bring the locksmith that day if not that I pushed!!! Maybe because I’m not Scottish I was treated HORRIBLY!!!

Staff aren’t interested in answering questions and viewings. One will tell you one thing and the next another! They aren’t keen on replying to emails either. I’d advise fellow students pass this lot by for looking at uni accommodation.

I had a viewing today very far from my house, I had to take a taxi to get there and there was nobody in the flat for the viewing. Moreover the company didn’t send me an email or a text message or even bothered to call to inform me that the viewing got cancelled
