TrustpilotExcellent experience with Hunters
We had an excellent experience with Hunters from start to finish. Richard, Brenda and Adam were fantastic throughout the entire process - always responsive, easy to contact, and happy to help with any questions we had. Everything ran smoothly with no issues at all, and their professionalism and communication made a potentially stressful process much easier. We would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

TrustpilotOne of my worst experience buying a house from hunters
One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

TrustpilotRude, poor service - a must avoid for renters
Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

GoogleWe used Ian at Hunters to sell our home and also for the purchase of our new house, both in Haxby. We had a few complications along the way but Ian was always there to keep everything together and resolve issues as required. He managed to keep the chain together throughout all the unexpected disasters and we are delighted with our lovely new home.
If we ever do move again we hope to deal with Ian/Hunters again in the future.
5 stars well earned, thanks Ian.

TrustpilotPoor service & communication
As a non-UK resident landlord who had used Hunters York for their tenant-find service before, I approached their lettings manager about the criteria for a rent review in the case of referral to a tribunal . She said that she didn´t know what the criteria would be and suggested £100 pcm without any reference to the value of the property or period since the rent was last reviewed. She was quite unwilling and defensive about discussing the issue further. I found out later from ChatGPT that the criteria for rent reviews is the current market rent which in our case would have indicated an increase of at least £500pcm since last reviewed over three years ago. Several weeks later, after our tenants gave notice, I enquired for a quotation to use their tenant-find service and had no reply. It´s possible that they no longer offer a "tenant-find" service for non-UK residents landlords, (only a fully managed service which we don't need or want) even for previous clients, but it was annoying to have no reply.

GoogleIan helped our business secure a buyer in record time and really helped us out of a pickle. Amazing service going above and beyond the call of duty on numerous occasions. My job would be far easier if every estate agent provided the same level of service. 5 Stars across the board. Fantastic communication. Thanks Ian, it’s been a pleasure.

Moving can be hectic, but Dulcie made it so simple with her support, prompt communication, and quick responses from the first viewing in Cullompton right through to the day I collected the keys. She was professional, reassuring, and always ready to help.

GoogleOur purchase from Hunters was straightforward whilst our corresponding sale was not. As we negotiated unforeseen hurdles, Ian Dunlop managed (mostly single-handedly) to oversee, to persuade and to chivvy along the entire chain in order to keep everyone engaged and optimistic that we would all eventually secure our new homes. Without his significant contribution we sincerely believe that the outcome might have been very different. We would like to extend huge thanks to Ian and his team at Hunters and would recommend them without hesitation.

TrustpilotAwful customer service
I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!

Trustpilotillegal procedures - 1 bed property Sparks Close (Terrible Agent & Terrible Landlord)
1 bed property Sparks Close, Dagenham, RM8 - Landlord and hunters agent where complicit in illegal procedures regarding discrimination. We went through all the paper work and wasted 2 weeks till they call me and tell me the Landlord dont want a baby in the property. Don't trust them slow untrust worthy. And definitely dont rent the sparks close 1 bed property, Landlord seems like a handful save your self

GoogleWe have just purchased our dream house through Ian at Hunters Haxby and the service and support we received from Ian was first class. Obviously moving house can be incredibly stressful and unfortunately the sale of our house proved more difficult than we had hoped, but Ian's professionalism and guidance through constant communication was hugely beneficial and played a key factor in keeping all parties informed and enabling the the best outcome for all involved.

TrustpilotMy experience selling a property in the…
My experience selling a property in the UK with this agent was extremely frustrating. For over four months, they delayed the transaction. Despite my constant follow-ups, they kept giving me excuse after excuse, like mortgage problems or minor issues, saying it would happen next week. Eventually, I told them I would pull out and sell to another buyer, but Matthew insisted I still had to pay. I also want to warn people about this company, be very cautious, because in the contract, they include terms that are unfavorable to the client. Once you sign, they do very little to follow up, and you can’t even be sure if the buyer will complete the deal. Their main priority is just getting you to sign, and regardless of whether the sale happens, they still take your money. And when I tried to back out, Matthew actually threatened me, saying that if I didn’t pay, they would escalate it to other departments. I feel this is a form of intimidation.”

TrustpilotHunters estate agents York the worst I’ve come across
What a lousy estate agents the York branch is, I went to see a house but not all the keys were brought to the viewing the lady called Jenna wanted to rush me around she insisted we had to leave early. This lady was very rude. I sent a list of questions I wanted answering three weeks ago I also requested a second viewing and the keys for full access but my emails and telephone calls went unanswered. I suggest that Hunters should get out of the business of selling houses because they are a clueless bunch of people and I recommend you don’t buy or sell a house from Hunters. No wonder they get 1 stars it seems everybody else has had a bad experience with them.

TrustpilotRobot refused to give me a viewing
Awful experience trying to arrange a viewing. Spent yonks on the phone with a robot. It asked me unnecessary questions and misheard things; then had to reconfirm everything. Eventually it was happy. I hung up and it started again this time by text. In the end it refused to let me have a viewing unless I told them my spending budget - which I wasn't prepared to do. Do not sell your property through these idiots.

TrustpilotDisappointed
Disappointed, we learned our house purchase had fallen through at the point of us being ready to exchange on our property. We found out that the office had known about it and left it to the agent, who had been looking after us, to tell us after she came back from annual leave! We never got a reason for the purchase to fall through and they even tried delaying us putting an offer in on another property. Luckily this was with another agent and we trusted our gut as the trust with Hunters had gone. 7 weeks later we were in our new home. Felt let down and disappointed with Hunters. This was our first and last time dealing with them.
