Paid a marketing fee of £238 which if I used their solicitors gilson gray I would get this amount back. First I was promised 28 working days from the house sale being completed 2 months went by then told 28 working days from when they send in the invoice. The account team sent an email to say this is being fast tracked and I would get it by 7pm still nothing back and getting excuses after excuses

Great speedy service from Hope at Connells

Speedy response to all communication. Hope was our estate agent, she was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She made us feel really relaxed looking round the property, and continued to provide a speedy and informative service throughout the process of renting our new property, a pleasure to deal with.

Property Sale

After finally completing on our property, whilst there were times that we were frustrated with the progress of finding a buyer, during the most stressful time, Connells Wolverhampton were instrumental in getting the matter concluded. Particularly Jackie who made a practice of contacting everyone up and down the chain to ensure things were progressing as everyone hoped. Her persistence helped to remove some of the road blocks and certainly made a difference. Many thanks.

Absolute Scam artists

Absolute Scam artists. Ridiculous deductions from deposit (£250 for an oven that needed cleaning and a shower screen that was dirty). Neighbours said cleaners never attended, refused to provide an invoice for cleaning. Useless communication. Agent I dealt with made return of deposit as diffcult as possible (taken 2.5 months) and pulled stunts like ignoring my email for a week, emailing a reply at 5:20 on a Friday and when I responded immediately, got an "out of office for a week" auto-response. Scum.

We completed on our house on Friday and…

We completed on our house on Friday and We used connells as our Agent, their customer service is awful. No viewing feedback, I had to ring them each time to ask, most times just being told we can’t get hold of them. On one viewing I happened to be in the house and the agent let it slip that the week before the woman who was supposed to view our house didn’t actually view it and there was confusion and it wasn’t our house she wanted to view, instead of telling us this, they made up feedback and said one of the bedrooms was too small! They had a key for us in their office so they could let themselves in to do viewing yet one time we got called back to let them in as they didn’t know they had a key! After we had agreed an offer that was the last we pretty much heard from them. I would chase and chase on emails for updates just to get a snotty email back from Adam who’s the sales branch manager. Absolutely no communication pretty much from start to finish!

Do not use or work for this company.

Honestly, the worst company you could work for or use as a client. I have not experienced everything quite like it. I had witnessed, heard and been made to tell so many lies to paying customers. Money is all they care about, not ones health. Not a good company.

I wish I had read these reviews before using Connells. Absolutely terrible. We used the mortgage advisor service for first time buyers. We could never get hold of anyone, and it would take at least a week to get a response (we were in a contract race). We decided to pull out of the race and look at other options, booked and appointment to get some help. We drove half an hour to be told: 1) I am not allowed to help you if you are someone else’s client and 2) I cancelled your appointment yesterday by which he meant he had deleted it from his own diary but not contacted me at all to tell me this is the case. Walked away very angry drove all the way back home and told them we will not be using them moving forward. Now using an independent mortgage advisor who is fantastic, and free of charge!

The estate agent is so pushy and insistent on me talking to their in house mortgage advisor. This would have been fine if it was just offered as an option to consider, but instead the whole thing felt really pushy.

Wolverhampton Office - 0 star

Wow! I left a review last week after we had one of Connells staff walk into our rented home, since then we were told by the agency and our landlord who had to call the agency, that the issue was sorted and it wouldn’t happen again. However, today we have had someone knock our door twice to view the property when there was no viewing arranged with us who said he was not told of anything being cancelled! After this we had one of Connells sales viewings agents turn up (30 minutes late according to the prospective buyer!) Not only did he enter our house with a key (again) but when greeted by us and asked what he was doing, he shouted and told us to F*** off and gave us his middle fingers! We believe his name was David Hill. Would absolutely not advise listing your homes for sale or rent with the Wolverhampton office! Feel like we can’t leave the house now as we don’t know who will let themselves in! Paying out in rent but have our privacy taken away by this agency and then shouted at for their continuous mistakes! Causing us a lot of stress that we do not need! Our landlord could have also missed a sales opportunity due to their lack of organisation and ability to do their job! Management need to get involved and sort this very poorly run office out! Appalling service! Terrible experiences!

Connells warndon.

Connells warndon.Terrible. Just brought our first house and the seller used these lot. We had to chase all the time, not kept in the loop at all. I was led to believe I was in a bidding war with interested party, turns out they lied. I paid an extra 2 grand for nothing. On completion they gv my mrs a welcome pack with random stuff which several were out of date. Steer clear, bunch of muppets is putting it very lightly

Great service e

I have recently moved into a rental property, moving house can be very stressful and Connells made the transition into our new property almost stress free. James kept in touch with us to keep us updated on a weekly basis so we knew what to expect and was prompt with any questions or queries we had.I will definitely be recommending Connells in the future.

Wolverhampton Connells

Had the wonderful experience of their rental viewings person letting themselves into our home completely unannounced yesterday at 5pm. This rude interruption was really not appreciated while I sat feeding my 6 week old baby! Not even a sorry from the agent who just stood there looking confused and asking when we are moving out, all while my baby screamed! We are not even due to vacate the property until June! Not only was this a burden to us, but the family they had made arrangements with to view the property who also had a young baby with them! Embarrassing on the agents behalf! We have also had sales viewing cancelled by them without them letting us know so we had left the property for them to carry out viewings in the very early newborn days for no reason! Clear issues with organisation and communication within this office!

Connells Wolverhampton….

Connells lettings agents Wolverhampton….I would give a big Zero rating… believe me! Being landlord, it’s you’re duty to pay full management fees on top of chasing them to do their so called job. I am in an absolute mess with this so called professional firm. Customer services - non existing… don’t know where to start…I am fed up to the extent where I now want to make a formal complaint which will be brought to the attention of my local MP, trading standards and Financial Ombudsman. Few years back, because of their utterly poor services & conduct of negligence, they paid me £625 in compensation. Their staff forges my signature on tenancy agreement. Stuck with them because my tenants were good at the time. But since I have had new appalling tenants from them, I am stuck with these letting agents who are not interested even if my property gets flooded, destroyed and torn off by the tenants. Served a sec 21, but no correspondence from Connells and no sign of this tenant of moving out. Connells show no empathy, utter lack of interest while I am distressed thing my property will be damaged in few months… I am just speechless and angrily disappointed. Pay more money but DO NOT USE CONNELLS.

Residential Lettings service apalling

We used Connells letting service to save us time for a considerably large fee. Not only was the tenant very disappointed with their service but Connells asked us for the names of contractors and in one case asked us to organise the service that we had paid them to provide. We never had the same person dealing with anything and even when we dismissed them we had to resort to their complaints process to partially resolve the issue. Steer well clear is my advice as you will pay for a service that you not receive. Never again.

Dealing with Connells has been an absolute nightmare. They are painfully slow to respond, regularly ignored my emails, and never pushed the buyers for updates. It felt like we were doing all the chasing while they just sat back.

Connells North St Bristol

Connells North St Bristol Speaking as a landlord I would not use this particular branch of Connells again. While getting some properties valued recently the agent and I got chatting,I explained I had a difficult tenant and due to my age I was thinking of handing my residential portfolio over to a property management company. He advised me to use his team (only one person at this particular branch) and me being keen for an easy life contacted Beth. While I should stress that the team I spoke to in her absence (kingswood branch) came across as wanting to help me and also very professional as was the sales team at this branch,I can honestly say I don’t feel the same way about Beth. I felt like she was under the impression she was me a favour rather than charging me 11% something she actually did say is I’m dealing with the tenant for free despite me telling her to bill me for it. The whole point of me letting her deal with this particularly tenant was to see if she would be capable of looking after my portfolio. I personally feel this would be something she would not be capable of doing.

Left alone to deal with a tenant who doesn’t want to leave after being served with a notice.

I directed Connells that I needed my property back and they advised the customer of my instructions. They told me the customer has to save the notice period, which is about a month and a half. As I’m writing this review, Almost 6 months later, the tenant still hasn’t left the property. There hasn’t been any updates from Connells regarding the eviction notice. They left me to deal with the tenant (which hasn’t been easy) although THEY ARE STILL COLLECTING MONTHLY FEES from this property. I have now decided to go the legal route…will update in due course

When is an auction not an auction - seller beware

Seller beware of signing up to the Modern Auction method of selling your house. I did and wasn’t given the contract to read before signing up or sent a copy to allow the cooling off period by the Watford branch. Apart from being told this would be easy and bidding was like on EBay. Interested buyers would bid and the idea was that the price would reach the reserve or above. The buyer pays 4.2% above the sale price and the seller pays no commission. All good so far! In reality people who view make an offer and as in The traditional selling method the offer is put to the seller. If the offer is refused the buyer is under no obligation to put that bid on the Iamsold website to generate more bids. So for 6O days my house stayed at its original starting price even though people had made offers moving towards the reserve price. People on the watchlist saw none of this as nothing happened. And it certainly didn’t generate a ‘bidding frenzy’I gave notice on the contract and was told it would cost me nothing. SELLER BEWARE clause 3 of the contract which I had never been given a copy of stated that I would be liable to pay the 4.2% for the next 12 MONTHS if anyone Connells had introduced subsequently bought the house. A list of 60 people. Going to a new agent you are tied to Connells for 12 MONTHS and the new agent is obliged to tell Connells if someone from the list buys the house. You, the seller then incurs the 4.2% commission charge plus the commission charge to the new agent. This does not happen if you stay with Connells and use the traditional method. However as they introduced 60 people and failed to sell the house, which by the way was valued much higher at the start of the process and the again by an independent agent more recently, they are unlikely to be able to sell it at a higher price. For a buyer a £300,000 house will cost around an extra £20,000 on top of the buying price with stamp duty and 4.2%. In my opinion The traditional method where the price starts high and buyers make offers gives a far better deal to both seller and buyer as both are in control of the sale price and end costs and there is no ambiguity.

False advertising, lack of communication and professionalism

Connells MaidstoneWe recently rented a property that was advertised as partly furnished. On both the website and after enquiring they confirmed that would include only the white goods. However after moving in we found multiple piece of furniture that were not communicated and now they are asking us to pay for storage in case we don't want them in the house! If you are dealing with them make sure you go through every little detail before you make any decision - overall very poor experience..
