TrustpilotIncompetent
It's a shame you have to give them a star at all. Very friendly at first took all our details and soon after that person left. None of pur details were passed over and after being with them for 3 months we practically had to start again. Ignored all our wants when sending over properties to view and just sent over any old property.

TrustpilotCommunication was awful
Communication was awful. We put an offer in on a house and waited days to hear back. The whole time they did not mention another vendor offering. I had spoke to them in between to see what was taking so long to hear. Then said we’d been outbid. No mention of any other offers. Not really apologetic and couldn’t care less.

TrustpilotComplete scammers and theives
Well I would like to say I'm shocked to see such bad score but after the phone call Ov just had im not. Rented a property back in 2016 was in a round about way warmed the landlord was a difficult man but wanted our kids to go the local school and that's all that was available we stuck it out for 8 years. The house falling apart around us and the landlord fixing NOTHING. So we left once our kids education was complete in Jan 2024. Then began the second war. The war with J&C trying to get my nearly £1500 deposit back is impossible. Being told I had to contact TDS for them to say not J&C have it now they are saying unless I can get a letter from Lucifer to say we can have it they wont give us it as they never managed the property. Well the guy could be dead for all I know as I have no contact details for his as he changed them over the years and never gave them to me. So now I got to court just what I need right now

TrustpilotVery unprofessional!
Got in touch with them to purchase a property, have just put an offer through, but the experience just up to this point has been extremely disappointing! Viewings were not organised very well, wasted over an hour waiting to view a property and it turns out they didn't know who ever was supposed to take us isn't. The person at the office didn't think this was disorganised and was very rude! Put an offer on a property that was confirmed it's no longer under auction, but it is! Not helpful or professional at all! Do not recommend!

TrustpilotTerrible experience of dealing with Jones and Chapman, Heswall, their Area Manager and Head Office
Our experience of dealing with the Heswall branch of Jones and Chapman was disgraceful. Issues were as follows:- 2 occasions the house was left without the alarm being set by J & C following a viewing. We had previously instructed them to set the alarm every time and they had agreed to that. 1 occasion it was left unlocked by J & C and so totally unsecured without being locked or alarmed. This viewing had been carried out by the Manager himself. J & C took people into the property without notifying us prior to the visit.J & C notified us that an offer had been made on our property, that it was cash and there was no chain. After accepting the offer on this basis we found out the reality was that, it was a buyer with a mortgage and there was a chain! We instructed J & C not to put “Under Offer” on the board outside the house. They ignored this and put up an Under Offer sign. I rang the Manager at J & C to voice my complaint about the issues above, he said he would talk to the staff and get back to me. Despite numerous contacts to the offices I never heard from the Manager afterwards. I rang the head office, Connells Group, and spoke to a Compliance Controller in the Complaints Department. He then fruitlessly tried to contact the Manager of Heswall Branch. I was appalled that a Head Office complaints department could not get to speak to their own branch manager. The official complaint was then sent from the Head Office to the Area Manager in charge of the Heswall Branch. However the Area Manager also refused to respond to Head Office. Then Head Office wrote to us stating we had rejected the Area Managers response despite the fact that they had previously written to us to state that the Area Manager had refused to respond to the complaint. Head Office eventually submitted their final response to us, however even this was after the deadline we had been given for their response. We asked The Property Ombudsman to look at the case they stated:-I have supported the complaints that have been made and consider that the circumstances merit an award of compensation. My award will reflect the avoidable aggravation, distress and inconvenience caused to the Complainants. I accept there were shortcomings in the service provided by J&C.J&C have acknowledged that the information initially provided by the branch caused confusion. As such J&C have not fulfilled their obligations, under the TPO Code of Practice, in that they did not pass the correct information to the Seller regarding the Buyer’s financial status. In accordance with Paragraph 8h of the TPO Code of Practice, J&C were obliged to exercise reasonable diligence to ensure that, after any visit by them, the Property was left secure. I accept that J&C did not follow the Seller’s instruction regarding resetting the alarm.J&C have acknowledged that when the initial complaint was raised, calls were not returned despite requests from J&C’s Compliance Department for the branch to do so…….. J&C have further acknowledged that the Complainants did not receive a response to their initial complaint. The Complainants chased for a response and received a letter which stated that a further review would be conducted, however no previous review had been conducted. J&C have acknowledged that their Internal Complaints Procedure had been breached because an initial review had not been conducted. In accordance with Paragraph 14d of the TPO Code of Practice, J&C were obliged to acknowledge all written complaints within three working days and promptly undertake a proper investigation. A formal written outcome of the complaint had to be sent to the Complainants within fifteen working days of receipt of the original complaint. In accordance with Paragraph 14e..The Complainants did not receive a formal response to their initial complaint and as such were not informed of how they could escalate the matter. This significantly delayed the complaints process. All in all a terrible experience start to finish

TrustpilotI enquired about a property for sale…
I enquired about a property for sale via right move, I enquired again and again and got no reply, I then saw on the website the property had been reduced and called but they were permanently busy. I got through today to be told its now sold and when I mentioned the issue with right move they suggested I could have emailed them directly. So If you are a seller be warned, emails from prospective buyers appear to go missing and as a result you may then be wrongly told there is no interest and be advised to reduce the price, so by going with them you may receive less than you should . Buyer or rather seller beware

One star is too much for this agency. Constantly asking to view houses and get no reply or get told the property isn’t open for viewing yet but then it’s taken a day later. Very unfair towards clients. Rude on the phone with a can’t be bothered attitude. Home owners, please stop using this agency!

We asked JCH to come out and value our home. The manager asked, over the phone, how much did you pay for the house, how much have you spent, and then without seeing the property said “ so you would be happy making 50k” what an idiot. We had arranged for 3 valuations including JCH. JCH sent a valued who works in another area and didn’t have a clue about the area we live in, hadn’t prepared any comparisons or anything, and can you believe he valued the house the same as the manager who hadn’t seen the house. The other 2 agents were both fully prepared to value the house and valued it 40% more than JCH, explaining how they had arrived at the valuation based on other sold houses in the area. Don’t use this company to sell your house, totally unprofessional.

I started the process of buying a property and was using Jones and Chapman as a Mortgage Broker. They charge a lot more than other people (£600 +£99 admin fee) but felt it was worthwhile as they were knowledgeable and it was my first time buying.

TrustpilotAvoid these timewasters!
Jones & Chapman arranged a viewing of a property I was interested in - and then they failed to turn up. No-one picked up the phone in the office, no apology, I had to call them to find out what had gone wrong. The appointment had not been entered into the diary apparently. They did send me some pics - but I was out of pocket in terms of fuel and Mersey Tunnel fees. When I requested they reimburse me for my expense due to their failure they failed to respond. Avoid them - unless you enjoy cowboy movies . . . New review

TrustpilotAvoid jones and chapman at all costs
Avoid jones and chapman at all costs. I was accepted to rent a property for me and my 2 children. Went through all security and financial checks and was accepted. Had 3 move in dates delayed at last minute because of safety checks failed on property, then waiting for paperwork. Each time I was assured It will definitely be this date and had to cancel van, people that were helping me move and taking time off work to move. On the final day that I was assured I would get my keys. Packed up my whole house. Waiting to sign contract. No contact with them. Phoned them and they said unfortunately the landlord has pulled out because they are not happy you need a guarantor. I had already been passed 2 weeks previously with a guarantor. Was basically homeless with my 2 young children. Jones and chapman apologised and said let me assure you we won't deal with these people again, which is no concelation. 2 days later the house is back up to let with Jones and chapman. Absolutely unscrupulous, disgraceful estate agents. Still haven't got my holding deposit back aswell

I can’t do offensive words but if I could I would. Jones & Chapman of Liscard, Wallasey, have put our experience of buying our first house a living nightmare. They are the biggest bunch of cowboys, feed you lies, use bullying tactics to take more of your money. The manager Helena has no interpersonal skills, is very demanding and ever so rude. If you are considering selling or buying your home please avoid! Save your money and go to Harper & Woods instead.

I’d give no stars if I could. I’m a cash buyer and have left numerous voicemails ( no one ever answers) emails, emails through right move and in fact right move themselves emailed them with my details too when I told them I can’t get through. I messaged their face book page- still nothing ! This has gone on for over a month. I’d never try and sell through them. There’s a property I’ve been trying to view for over a month !!

TrustpilotDisgusting and Dishonest service
Tried FOUR TIMES to meet with one of their mortgage advisors just so we could get a viewing and they flaked out EVERY TIME, what a complete waste of time not to mention money we spent on travelling to their office. Then they have the nerve to send us adverts for other properties that 'we may be interested in', making this whole experience reek of a bait and switch. If you, reading this right now are the said mortgage advisor or had any part to play in this then I hope you are ashamed of yourself for brazenly messing us around and the absolute least you could do is compensate us for the time and money wasted.

Avoid. I would never use them again. There must be a reason that only a few people using this estate agent. Sold our house 15k less than the asking price and they said to me we have sold our house at a 'good price'. I didn't get my money back for marketing package cost as promised. Very lay back estate agent, offer accepted and I didn't receive the letter confirmation until 2 weeks after. They didn't do the ID check of the buyer until days after. From my experience, I would not believe whatever they said.

Rang and arranged for evaluation. To begin with a member of staff from west kirby office arrived late. Then rather than give me the evaluation said he would let me know. 24 hours later ive heard nothing. By the way we are selling 2 houses at same time . I rang again and was told they would get back to me , which they didnt. My experience has been no communication and poor service and due to this jc have lost sale of two houses

TrustpilotI am writing this review as a potential Frustrated Purchaser
I am writing this review as a potential purchaser of a house on their site, the house was setup on a “modern auction”, which is short for “estate agent gets a lot of money and everyone else involved either gets less or pays more”. However my feedback is not based on that it’s about the complete lack of transparency of the purchase process or aspect of it.. The property sale page mentions it being sold under “modern auction” and refers to T&C.. and that where it ends with a reference, I searched the site there is no mention of “modern auction” anywhere about from the page where it’s, not what this means including..When the sale isWhat the terms of the sale areLegal pack availability (if any)The cost of the process...Nothing zip zero.. lack of transparency... just a bit but here is the kicker we were told twice VERBALLY only. That the fee was £6k... ( this is on a house with a “guide price of 63k ) no details on whether this was including or excluding VAT. However since it not written down anywhere on the site It could be a arbitrary figure. The “modern auction” is a rip off at the best of times and is under investigation by trading standards, due to lack of transparency. However Jones and Chapman if you are reading this please not there is a huge difference between lack of transparency, and no transparency with no supporting information available on you primary sales portal.

TrustpilotCowboys
Put house on the market and paid for the overpriced package.Signed contract , monies handed over then that was that. 3 viewings all carried out by me. I was promised an open house, booked a weekend away, never did i hear nor see sales man again once monies exchanged his words were " it's in our interest to find you somewhere to move to" , not even one contact , suggestion or follow up. Put in a complaint it was ignored. Took house off the market. Them some months later received a glossy brochure through the door with my house plastered all over the front as sold subject to terms. All my photos were on leaflet and these were distributed throughout the neighbourhood with no authorisation from me.They offered £50 , they breached their own contract.I didn't take the £50. I would not recommend them.
