Phil Jones is a liar and a will do whatever to protect his own interests and image. He has threatened to take action against myself and my family (who are disabled and pay well above the market value, and have a child). Based on unfounded lies and allegations that he has made up in an attempt to threaten me. --‐---------------------------- (Edit inserted below) The situation and handling of such by Phil has not changed or improved at all. However, having finally having the opportunity to speak with Sam and to work with her and the team at AJ Lettings, I am happy to say that we have found a peaceful way to handle and proceed with rental matters professionally and with respect and dignity. It just means not having Phils involvement or any communication until he is man enough to apologise for his actions and misconduct. Sam has been an absolute delight and a complete contrast of Phil, things are as they should have continued to be prior to Phils actions. (End of edit) --------------------------- He has acted unprofessionally, disgracefully and with no reasoning. When challenged, he lies, denies and tried to manipulate his way out of the truth I am happy to be contacted for further information and to provide evidence to support all of this. Everyone should know the truth of how they operate But I would well avoid this place, all happy and pretending to be fair and just then they stick the knife in your back to look after themselves In response to your reply: "This review relates to a private tenancy matter rather than the estate agency services provided by AshdownJones. We are already speaking directly with the individual involved and are working to resolve things properly and professionally. Because the matter is ongoing, it wouldn’t be appropriate to discuss the detail publicly, but we are taking it seriously and handling it with care." I knew you would try and lie and cover yourself. You are the landlord and your company are the agents (i have paperwork to prove this), it is not a none related matter in the slightest... it is regarding Phils personal behaviour, actions and communications. The threats and unfounded allegations and then a pathetic attempt to discreditmyself followed by more lies and denial that i have since proven to you yet again. I have all of the evidence and proof to support everything I am saying, including the attempts to discredit me in response, knowing the truth of the matters you referred to but refuse to discuss when questioned. Rather than a professional response. As well as your attempts to avoid the truth, lie your way out of it and deny what you have done despite the facts and evidence. The local MP is aware of all of this and you are to comply with the official requests made rather than trying to lie further and protect your image. You are horrible people, once this is settled, I will be sharing all of our communications publicly to support all I have said here. You have not tried to settle and deal with this as you put "properly and professionally " Again, and attempt to protect your image, my communications show this is not true and that you have actually just denied, lied and avoided dealing with this. You overreached by purchasing more than you could afford, and now you think you can treat your tenants like this. Inhave attached proof that you are the landlord and agent, the issue is not with someone else

Underhanded and unaccountable

Very underhanded experience with this estate agency, lack of transparency and accountability. The whole debacle with them, left us feeling like we were at the bottom of the food chain as we weren't in their higher end of purchasers. Beware of the teflon attitude when it comes to proving them wrong or something that just might expose them and their poor business acumen. We went through their complaints procedure to no avail which resulted in escalating the matter to the ombudsman. Simply will not be recommending Ashdown Jones to anyone. If we continue to tolerate poor service from any sector then nothing will improve, hence my determination to alert potential clients of our experience. Interesting how they don't have their own Trustpilot gateway so I had to invent one.

The service we received from every member of staff we dealt with at Ashdown Jones was exceptional - professional, friendly and supportive. Particular shout-outs to Hannah, Tom, Edward and the wonderful Charli in progression for liaising with all other parties on our behalf. Awful estate agents who misrepresent the properties they are selling, fantasists who completely talk up the property and over price so immediately create an adversarial and toxic relationship between seller and buyer. No management of the stakeholders and once an offer is accepted it's subcontracted to a third party based on the south coast (of England not Cumbria), so all relationships are broken, to try and complete the sale. And they claim to be doing things differently... for the better! They also can't even manage their marketing database...

We have recently sold and purchased a property with AshdownJones so have had a lot of contact with the team, particularly Phil. The approach is enthusiastic and professional with great attention to detail. The property game can be stressful at times but Phil took everything in his stride and continued with a positive attitude which I was very grateful for. They offer bespoke marketing on a level I haven't seen before and I'm convinced this is what sold my property more or less overnight! I have a rental property company in a different area and have bought many properties through estate agents and the service I've received doesn't come close to what AJ provide. I am now a proud owner of my new Bowness home.....Job done..... the only down side is I miss Phil's friendly face and encouraging phone calls. Definitely a 5 star service from AJ. Thank you

Viewed a property for sale with AJ and I came away incredibly impressed with the whole experience. There was no doubt in my mind that this was the company to market my property. A breath of fresh air in the estate agency industry. The attention to detail, marketing, communication all excellent. Down the line I bought the property I viewed and our property sold quickly. Job done, the only downside is I miss Phil’s smiling face and enthusiastic attitude. He ironed out any little issues that cropped up that inevitably happen with the sale and purchase of property and was always there no matter what time with support and advice. The Ashdown Jones team were helpful and committed throughout the recent sale of our home. Following the initial appraisal we had the photo day where we were made to feel completely at ease as everything took place around us. The viewings were booked in at our convenience and were all accompanied by a viewer who had taken the time to know everything about our house. Sale negotiations involved us at every step and then the dedicated sales progressor made sure that both ourselves and our buyer were fully updated on each other’s legal progress. We sold during a time of inflated values but the sale price was still beyond our expectations. We would not hesitate to use Ashdown Jones again.

Enquired about a property on Thursday and received a call back from Lois on Friday. I was told the property in question (Low Wood Barn) had 2 offers on it already and the viewings would be taking place over the weekend. The Agent I spoke to said she would put my situation forward to the landlord (cash buyer & ready to view) and see if he/she was interested but in typical underwhelming Estate Agent style never got back to me. Given I was sincerely interested in purchasing a property in the area as a cash buyer this was both daft and bad business. I wouldn’t trust this Estate Agent to do anything for me and will be seeking another Agent in the area to help with my search. If you are looking for lazy Agents with bad manners Ashdown Jones are perfect for you.

Wonderful estate agents. From my first meeting with Phil and Sam, I was confident that the sale of our house would be in great and professional hands. We cannot praise this Company highly enough. Having had very poor service from two well known estate agents, we turned to AshdownJones in desperation & with a certain degree of scepticism. From the outset they were professional, innovative, supportive & positive, despite this being a difficult house to sell. Yes, the wording in the brochure is sometimes' flowery 'but there is no doubt that it captures the attention of buyers and ultimately sells houses.
