We’re so grateful to Paul and his whole team for all their hard work on our house purchase. As first time buyers, it was very reassuring to have great contact throughout the process; from arranging the first viewing; making the offer; the second viewing; and continually helping with issues we were having with our solicitors. Without Paul we wouldn’t have known quickly that communication between the solicitors for the sale was breaking down and threatening the process. With Paul’s prompts and genuine care, we were able to chase our solicitors when needed and ensure things kept moving. We love our house and fee very lucky that it was still available and it all worked out for us! Paul is such a lovely personable guy, but sadly this is our forever home so we won’t need his services again! We are recommending him to friends and family though!

Without doubt, Paul, Sarah and Mark are absolutely fantastic - they have restored our faith in estate agents. We chose to work with Appleby & Townend for two predominant reasons: 1. as we had faith that they would absolutely be true to their word by going above and beyond, and 2. as we wanted to support a relatively new and local business. From the moment we met Paul, we have been looked after spectacularly. Unlike most estate agents, the person we met with, i.e. Paul, is the person who does the viewings. IMO, that is vital to the success. Paul valued our home above what we thought was achievable, and not only did he get us that, he secured us more. And after the offer was accepted, he, Sarah and Mark kept everything on track, with regular communications and engagement. At no time at all, did we feel we weren't on their priority list. Ultimately they aced it, and we wish them only great success as their business grows. It won't be long until their For Sale (Sold!!) signs will be spotted all over Wiltshire.

I met several estate agents when the decision was made to sell my deceased Father's house. With no reference or guideline for choosing the most suitable, I followed my gut. Appleby & Townend showed immense sensitivity to my situation and and a deep understanding of the emotional journey that was to follow. There was no pressure and they went out of their way to help in more ways than was actually necessary, or indeed part of their job description. They were always on the end of a phone or text any day of the week and evenings, and made themselves available for all queries, or just some well needed reassurance. Their marketing was spot on, landing me with several offers within two weeks of going on the market. They have a strong knowledge of the areas they cover and their research is thorough. I would highly recommend them to the 'buyer / seller' market as well as to the letting market, and wish them every success in the growing business.

From the moment I invited Mark to value my property to the day of completion the team at Appleby and Townend were fantastic. Mark fell in love with our house and did a fantastic video and valued the place exactly where we hoped (a bit above actually). Paul handled most of the communication once the property was on the market. They were both incredibly professional; courteous; quick to reply; engaged in the process. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome especially as they worked hard to iron out the usual wrinkles that property sales incur. I booked a viewing and was told that the estate agent would only do a block viewing on a specific day, so I booked my slot. When I arrived at the house (10:45am), I was told there are already many offers. When I asked how I can put an offer in, I was told that this would need to be discussed with me on the phone in the afternoon. Needless to say, I received no such phone call. In the evening, I had a message on the phone saying that the house was sold to friends of the vendor, and because he could not reach me on time, I lost out. Talking to my estate agent (I just sold a house), he thought that this behaviour was unethical, and even in a frenzy market, this is not the way to treat potential buyers. Highly unlikely, I would book another viewing with these estate agents.

I am a very picky customer being an editor myself - but their attention to detail and marketing was next to none. The team responded rapidly to all our calls/WhatsApp messages and went above and beyond at every step to make sure our house sale went through smoothly and as quickly as possible. We were very pleased with the house sale they secured, but also knew they would be good to our buyers. I was cautious because they are not yet the most well-known name, but Appleby and Townend turned out to be absolutely the right choice financially. Mark and Paul where do I start. Firstly sorry this review is so late. I sold my previous house with them back in November 2021, and I couldn’t fault them one bit. It’s hard to find an estate agent that you can truly trust and I felt an instant trust with both of them. Their marketing is amazing and presence on social media is what is needed in this day and age. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them when I sell in the future.
