We sold our home using the Stoke Gifford, Bristol Branch, Cant pretend it wasn't the most stressful experience of my life, but the team were amazing so patient - My husband and I called ALOT for reassurance and updates , we were never made to feel it was too much even though I'm sure at times it was ! Massive shout out to Justin, when things started to go wrong with the chain he stepped in and was nothing short of amazing, we are convinced without his work it wouldn't of happened and we would not now be in our dream home - THANK YOU.

I went to Allan&Harris on Albany Road

I went to Allan&Harris on Albany Road, during my visit, Liam Tresilian made some racial comments to me that he clearly thought were humorous. He was laughing while delivering his inappropriate remarks, seemingly oblivious to the discomfort he caused. Instead of fostering a welcoming atmosphere, his comments only served to highlight the insensitivity that can sometimes be present in social interactions. This experience left me feeling deeply ashamed and very uncomfortable, as I couldn't help but question why such remarks were deemed acceptable in any context. It was disheartening to encounter such ignorance, especially in a setting where I expected to feel safe and respected. I believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and kindness, and it was disappointing to witness such a lack of awareness regarding the impact of words.

Excellent service both for buying and selling your property

We entrusted the selling of our own home and the purchase of a new home with the Allan and Harris Team in Irvine . This was a very positive experience ,the staff in particular Liz ,Katy and Jocelyn who we had most contact with were so supportive and helpful. We had a difficult time time with a buyer and the team helped us navigate this ,they were patient, kind and understanding . We wouldn't hesitate to advise others to use their services.

AVOID THE ROSE HILL BRANCH. I put a house on for sale with the Rose…

Put a house on for sale with the Rose Hill Oxford branch. Had just 1 viewing in 4 months with no feedback. They don't answer phones promptly, preferring messages being left which they never pick up. Big turn over of staff, for such a small office. Rude to Clients. Common as muck at times. And then when you leave them, they call your new estate agent and demand pictures they do not own be taken down. All in all a dirty, dodgy 'strange behavioural' branch of Allen & Harris. AVOID.

Hannah & Milly at the Wiltshire branch were amazing. As a letting agency ourselves, we used their services to let a property in their local area for our corporate client. Hannah went out & valued the property & they let it within 4 working days. The customer service we have received is outstanding, friendly & very competitive given that we had communication with two other agents in the area that lacked the enthusiasm & professional touch.

The worst letting agent ever

The worst letting agent ever. They cannot manage your property and are very rude and provide the worst customer service ever. Being with this letting agent has been a nightmare, instead of helping landlords the so called letting manager Tiffany was very rude and explains she’s not a mind reader. She would never answer calls, disregard emails and also accidentally replies to a chain of emails to her colleague but includes us to say how we are ridiculous. Tiffany is so unprofessional and the service provided was appalling. We will never be using this letting agent and recommend not to use unless you want your house to be destroyed and not to have any support from the lettings agent you put your trust in to manage and maintain your property and to have the most appalling service. Stay clear and actually get your moneys worth with another agent.

Read the Contract!

I employed this company to sell a house. After 6 months and no sensible offers, I terminated their contract. A few months later, I sold the house through another agent, who were brilliant. However it turned out that the eventual buyers had seen the house originally several months before through Allen and Harris. The next thing I knew was their high powered solicitors demanding full payment of their selling fees, which according to their contract I have to pay indefinitely after they have sown anyone the house. This is criminal and they should be ashamed of themselves putting a clause like that in a legal contract. So beware, read all the small print. Don't use Allen and Harris as they are absolutely useless.

The worst Estate Agent

The Estate Agent I bought the property with was much more helpful than Allen&Harris at Stoke Gifford who acted for my sale.Allan & Harris are not proactive and do not pursue sales after they have found a buyer.They don't keep other parties informed and are bad at communicating with other agents and lawyers.I would not recommend this agent to my worst enemy. I have moved many times and have never encountered such a dishonest and deceptive agency. Not only do they lie, but when found out, they lie even more to cover their tracks. They will not take any responsibility and they will blame each other in the office. They used to be very good many years ago when Jonathan Siggins was there. It's not the same anymore.Avoid at all costs.

I recently asked for a Home Report to be e mailed, someone st their office decided to phone to arrange a viewing, they couldn’t get through because they dialed the wrong number. I explained I wanted to see the Home Report before arranging a viewing and adked, for the second time, van I have the Home Report, again this didn’t arrive, I gave it another go and still nothing happened.

They were polite and pleasant, hence the two star, aside from that, they were unprofessional and useless.Despite having visited the property previously and confidently ensured us they could work in our area, we were dropped after one viewing day. Just a brief email saying we would do better with a more local estate agents, a complete contradiction to what was promised.Sulayman was apparently the manager, came to the property initially, but for the viewing sent his colleague Ellise, who arrived late, leaving two families wandering the carpark for over ten minutes, then stood in the corner awkwardly as I did all the talking trying to sell the property. I occasionally looked at her to invite her to speak up but she just looked away awkwardly.We told them how disappointing we found their services and would be leaving a negative review, to which they ignored and sent us an offer from a potential tenant almost immediately after we sent the email. Very odd.Personally I got the feeling they couldn't be bothered to make the trip to the property from Didcot for a property that wouldn't be an easy sell.

Unprofessional Service and Poor Communication - Avoid Allen & Harris Frome

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Allen & Harris Frome, and I feel compelled to share my experience to caution others.Firstly, the communication was abysmal. I was not informed that the buyer had pulled out of the purchase, which caused unnecessary delays and complications. This crucial information was withheld, and it was only through my persistent inquiries that I found out about the buyer’s withdrawal. Allen and Harris simply stopped responding to any and all communication.Additionally, the photos taken of my property were of very poor quality with water marks and blown out colours. Professionalism was sorely lacking in this regard, and it felt as though minimal effort was put into presenting my property well.Moreover, the manager was unhelpful and displayed a lack of professionalism throughout the process. Any attempts to address my concerns were met with indifference and a dismissive attitude. It was evident that customer service and satisfaction were not priorities.Overall, my experience with Allen & Harris Frome was frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable and professional real estate agent.Avoid at all costs!

60% 1-star reviews at the time of writing, this should be the only red flag you need. Firstly, they mis-sold the tenancy, and assured certain facts that were conditional on my signing were true, that turned out not to be true. There is no way I would have signed the tenancy if they had not been misleading. When confronted, they made demands from me which were unreasonable, including ‘not to open the window’ of which there is only one in the apartment. Corey is especially corrupt, and the biggest scammer, stay clear as he will gaslight anyone and back track/say whatever he feels like to cover himself. Stay clear. Remember, 60% 1-star reviews. That is the majority of all reviews. Please don’t waste your time.

Excellent Service from Yupy, Roath Branch

I’m incredibly pleased with the service I received from Yupy Sarwar at Allen & Harris Estate Agents for our recent home purchase. The home buying process can be daunting, but Yupy was fantastic every step of the way.From finding potential properties to helping me negotiate an ideal contract, Yupy was always available and communicated how each part of the whole process would move forward. Talbot Green - disgraceful

Last year I rented through the Talbot Green branch and it was a disgraceful process that set my mental health back by a mile. The communication was terrible and unresponsive throughout. Key questions around the health and sanity of the property were left unanswered. Particularly the quality of the tap resulting in continuous serious leaks, the filth in the property upon moving in and evidence of damp throughout. The 1 star is reserved just for James in this instance -very poor communication and service.On the subject of the leaks, poor communication in getting the leaks fixed resulted in a very serious leak occurring in the morning. In act of panic I located an out of hours plumber, because the alternative would have been severe flooding damaging infrastructure. However, because it was resolved during the working day I had to foot the full bill of over £400! The biggest joke of all was the agent phoning up after I left asking where the stop cock and meter were in the basement parking - shows the level of interest for the landlords!!The property was filthy upon moving in, and despite promises to reimburse my cleaning, this never happened.A challenge with the gas meter resulted in no gas for a full month when moving in. Again, promised of being resolved were never met until I moved in.Finally, the attitude of the team was poor. Particularly James who seemed indifferent and disinterested in everything. I managed to move out of this nightmare property early, but that might not be the case for everyone. This seems like an agency who has little interest in the customer and quite frankly could and would take advantage of vulnerable people. Avoid at all costs!

Amazing service

Witney Branch:My self and my partner used Allen and Harris to view a property which we fell in love with, we then decided to put an offer in. We have dealt with Poppy throughout the process which has been seamless from start to finish. Poppy has been very professional and found us a mortgage that suited our needs whilst taking in to account interest rates and affordability. I can honestly say Poppy is amazing and we would highly recommend her services if you are looking for a mortgage. Nothing is too much trouble. We are certainly looking forward to getting the keys to our new family home.

We previously used Allen and Harris to market our property and had a terrible experience. Today, we arranged to view a property marketed by them. I had reminder text messages confirming the viewing and when I arrived the owner said he accepted an offer 4 days ago and he was told Allen and Harris would inform anyone who had arranged to view - which they did not. Total waste of time and confirms my views.

AVOID.Empty promises and false hopes. The subpar performance of their residential sales manager resulted in a significant financial setback of several thousand pounds. We were hastily guided through the process with the belief in our favourable prospects, continually reassured by the manager. Despite our exhaustive efforts within a constrained timeframe, the situation abruptly fell apart. There were no apologies, no outreach attempts, and our emails went unanswered with no updates throughout the process. It was only after the fact that we received a call from the branch manager, delivering the news that we did not secure the contract.

We used Allan and Harris’ mortgage advisor service. The lovely Alanna Docherty helped us with honestly everything for buying our new house. She was amazing we could not fault her. She really went above and beyond and as for many people, all the things that come with buying the house can be very confusing but Alana explained everything so well and just made the whole process stress free to be honest. She always answered any messages or query’s quick and was always so friendly and polite. Her knowledge is great as well. We are so happy with the service provided and cannot recommend Alana enough. If you are looking for a mortgage advisor she is the one, we will be using her again for future housing things. Thanks so so much again Alana 😊

I’d honestly give zero if this was possible

I’d honestly give zero for Stoke Gifford office in Bristol if this was possible. The HQ needs to support the branch and the staff - as a buyer, having tried to call maybe 5 times on different days, you can’t speak to anyone and diverts to voicemail. I wonder if Sellers know? Perhaps they should try calling and see for themselves.

I used the Alan & Harris Swindon branch for a house sale in probate, Dave and his colleagues were 100%. Every time an issue arose, Dave was there to deal it. I also found the weekly inspection of the vacant property very helpful. If I were to buy a house or sell I would be sure to use these guys. Good experience all around.
