The whole team at the Basildon branch have been amazing selling our house. We previously had it on with Douglas Allen and couldn’t wait for our contract to end with them! As soon as Temme English took it on and advertised it it was sold within days. Our sale only took 9 weeks to complete from start to finish. The communication and keeping us well in the loop was absolutely paramount for my “just get it done” attitude and they certainly never failed. Instant response texts via WhatsApp was amazing and kept us feeling totally confident in their customer service care and ability to sell our property promptly and professionally and keep things moving smoothly. I wouldn’t want to name names as I feel the whole team plays an important part each and they certainly focus on getting your house sold, which is all we wanted.

When she was not in the office, Andy was always willing to help out with any enquires. Temme English sold out house really fast and even found a 2nd buyer within 3 hours when our 1st buyer decided to pull out of the sale due to a change in circumstance. Temme English have been so good we recommend them to a neighbour who has also sold her house with very little effort.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your detailed feedback. We are sorry to hear that you found the overall transaction frustrating and stressful.
We do, however, feel it is important to provide some context around the timescales involved. As the estate agent acting on behalf of the sellers, our role was to progress their sale and facilitate communication between the various parties in the chain. Unfortunately, an estate agent cannot control the timescales or actions of other buyers, sellers, conveyancers, mortgage lenders or agents involved in a transaction.
From the circumstances you have described, a significant proportion of the delay was caused by events within the chain, including the loss of two buyers and the subsequent mortgage extension. These are matters outside of our control, and ultimately the transaction reached a point where all parties were working against the clock to ensure it did not collapse.
We are pleased that you recognised the increased communication and proactive approach from our team during the final stages. We would also point out that this was not a case of the transaction only being progressed at the last minute; our team was working throughout the process to obtain updates, communicate information and progress matters wherever it was possible to do so. The urgency naturally increased as the risk of the chain collapsing became greater.
We are particularly pleased that you have acknowledged that your comments are not necessarily a reflection of the individual you dealt with at our Colchester branch. We have a dedicated and experienced team, and we always endeavour to progress transactions as efficiently as the circumstances of the chain allow.
We fully appreciate that buying and selling a property can be stressful, particularly when there are delays outside of your control. We are sorry that the experience caused you anxiety, but we hope this response provides some clarity around the distinction between delays within an agent’s control and those arising elsewhere in the chain.
