Exceptional service from all the team, especially from Chris West

We were looking to sell our house & was told by close family to use Balgores Upminster, as they had recently sold with them, having had Chris West as their agent & had an amazing experience from start to finish. We followed suit & successfully sold our house within 3 weeks of it being listed with Balgores Upminster. We have no doubt this is because of the exceptional service from all the team, but especially from Chris West. Chris is professional, approachable & passionate about what he does. He kept us updated daily as to progress & was always available for catch-ups, even on the weekend. Thank you so much for all your help Chris! You are a star! We had a fantastic experience with Balgores and would 100% recommend. We didn’t have an easy ride due to sellers pulling out (no fault of Balgores) but what we did do, was sell our house quickly. Throughout the process, Balgores were quick to respond and a special mention goes to Ross who was always there to respond and answer our calls. It was clear that he was knowledgable and experienced and through the buying process, we came across many agents in other companies who were not nearly as competent. Lack of Transparency and a Very Stressful Buying Experience

My experience during this property transaction was unfortunately far more stressful and difficult than it should have been and ultimately the seller withdrew from the sale after 6 months of trying to close. In hindsight, I believe it was a mistake to proceed with a property connected to one of the directors of Balgores. To be fair, the potential conflict of interest was disclosed early on, however as the transaction progressed, many of the decisions and communication felt significantly more favourable towards the seller than balanced between both parties. One of the biggest issues was around completion timelines. We were actively working towards a much earlier completion date, initially targeting October/November, partly because we wanted our children settled into their new schools as early as possible in the academic year. However, towards the end of October, we were suddenly informed that the sellers now wanted completion pushed back to the end of January, which caused major disruption and stress across the entire chain. At the time, Balgores attempted to reassure us that this was normal and acceptable within property transactions. However, during the later appeal process, the seller informed that the January completion requirement had allegedly been known to Balgores from the very beginning (June), but this information was only communicated to us at the end of October. Had we known this upfront, we would have approached the purchase very differently. As a buyer, it became extremely frustrating trying to manage mortgage timelines, expiry risks, chain pressures, ongoing legal costs, and constant uncertainty while also chasing updates and clarity. Although some individuals involved were polite and responsive at times, the overall process became emotionally draining and significantly more complicated than it needed to be. I was left feeling that key concerns, timelines, and risks were not handled with the level of transparency and balance buyers would reasonably expect. My advice to anyone entering a property transaction would be: * Get everything confirmed in writing. * Ask detailed questions as early as possible. * Independently verify important information rather than relying on assumptions. Again, in writing. * Stay very closely involved throughout the process. * Carefully review any Gazeal agreement before signing, as in my experience it appears heavily weighted towards the seller side. (I have written a separate review regarding Gazeal specifically.) Buying and selling property is already stressful enough, and unfortunately this experience added considerably to that stress. I have since submitted a formal complaint to better understand whether there was any wrongdoing or failure in how the transaction was handled by Balgores. I will wait to see the response and will update this review accordingly based on the outcome and feedback received.

Excellent service from Balgores Hornchurch Branch. We have had excellent service from start to (nearly finish) we have exchanged and completion is due soon. Recently sold my property using the wickford Branch. Ross had initially come to view and value my property and the rest was history. It was sold after the first few viewings. Ewan at the branch was my main contact and he went above and beyond. Extremely helpful and always on the other end of the line when i needed updates. I can’t fault any of the team.
