Absolute incompetency!

Terrible service and serious lack of professionalism. Moved in to the apartment 6 months ago and plenty of the issues are not fixed yet... and I am talking about serious issues like pests, water leakages and broken appliances. We have mice coming in and out of the apartment due to lack of pest proofing and a report made by the council. Yet they do not act. They bounce you from one person to another to wear you down and nobody in the company takes any responsibility. I have written to 5 people so far and nobody gets anything done. I think the only solution with these guys are to AVOID any property managed by them. Turns out the landlord is not aware of any of the problems. We will directly contact with the landlord even though she did nothing wrong but to trust these people.

Terrible on all counts!

From the moment we were given notice John D Wood failed to give anything like a decent service - emails and calls were rarely responded to. Duplicate requests for information came from a range of staff, often no response to contact - you literally have to bombard them with emails / calls to get any communication and return of deposit after months of leaving the property and a significant period (nearly a month, not the 10 days legally required I believe?) since the landlord confirmed an agreed amount.One staff member I think had good intentions and was helpful on speaking to her but the process will wear you down. I think the corporate / company ethic and values must be rotten as they simply do not provide any tiny hint of service that you might expect from a professional outfit. On checking other review sites and this one, I realise we are not alone in our experience. I'm not sure if they read these reviews, but clearly systemic change needs to happen soon or word of mouth will surely stop any further business going their way??

Very biased towards the landlord

Very biased towards the landlord. Tenants please avoid if you want your deposit back as they would report issues at checkout that would be there at checkin. Last week I received an end of tenancy report which state issues which were present when my tenancy started. Since I've been taken advantage of many a times by rogue estate agents and I've learned my lesson so I made detailed recordings of the property at the start & end of the tenancy where I cover each and every inch of the property. I just emailed them one of the video and took screenshots from other videos that show that the issues were there beforehand. I did email Amy earlier that these were present at checkin but instead of checking the records she is going ahead to get repair quotes & ask for deductions from my deposit. I will leave as many negative reviews as I can! even register www. avoid-johndwood. com so innocent people can avoid getting ripped off.

Terrible experience, Not professionals!!

Terrible experience.They are unprofessional and unreliable.. Contacted agency and fixed a time view property in Headington, Oxford. I went and waited near the property and no one turned up. After 20-25 mins I called them again and they were saying let is already agreed on that property. They had no courtesy to inform me and the viewing schedule was not even in their dairy!! I would not recommend this agency.

A very professional and impressive services. James the agent who dealt with us went to great lengths to ensure that we were able to see all the properties we wanted to in a very tight schedule; he gave us a comprehensive breakdown of the agents fees (which were much more reasonable than most); and an honest run through of the contract. Having rented seven houses in seven years and looked around dozen before settling on this one, I can honestly say they were the easiest to deal with and most professional I have come across.

I would advise anyone to avoid renting through John D Wood. Our agent, James did not represent our needs and on numerous occasions went against our wishes which eventually culminated with him raising our rent to more than we had already agreed with the landlord. JDW continued to show people around our flat after we'd made an offer and paid for referencing, entertaining another higher offer forcing us to up our asking price after all other estate agents had removed the flat from the market. We were manipulated and essentially blackmailed into paying above what had been agreed and threatened we'd lose out and lose our referencing fee if we did not act in a short space of time. Estate agents are abysmal at the best of times but JDW are particularly untrustworthy, money grabbing, capricious, crooks.

The worst agent service I have ever…

The worst agent service I have ever seen in my life. We have been dealing with them for more than a year. We wrote a letter to them complaining and nothing was ever done. They delegate their work to everyone, they just pretend they work. Never hire them.
