GoogleMy experience selling my property was not the easiest but i could not thank Samantha at Hunters Kendal enough for her support, guidance and her quick response in dealing with any issue or concern I had. I felt Samantha was a true advocate for myself as this was my first time selling. She was extremely patient and kind throughout the whole process. The communication was also extremely efficient as well as thorough.

GoogleThe initial visit by Graham was very professional and efficient. Once on the market both Sam and Ellie were really helpful and supportive through the very long and protracted process involved in selling the property. This was due to outside agencies and no fault of Hunters. Ellie went above and beyond to get this sale over the line chasing other parties and updating me to keep me in the picture. I would thoroughly recommend Hunters as they are superb.

GoogleWe purchased a bungalow using Estate Agents HUNTERS Kendal. We found Ellie and Samantha to be superb and a credit to the company. We were kept informed every step of what turned out to be a very long purchasing journey( of absolutely no fault of the estate agent). Consequently we felt confident that the team were acting both in the vendors and the purchasers best interest. Samantha was our first point of content, with Ellie ably stepping in when Samantha was unavailable. At one stage we were contacted and updated daily. The team were very professional, efficient, caring and personable. Highly recommend.

TrustpilotThis company doesn't seem to care…
This company doesn't seem to care either about their prospective customers or their existing landlords.
I have an outstanding issue with their poor tenant management at a property that they have let for a number of years and their failure to recover documented damage after the tenant vacated the property.
Nobody is answering my emails.
The owner has notified his landlords that yet another staff member has left the company, they are notorious for being unable to retain staff.
I would not recommend them to anyone.

TrustpilotGutted
I was really impressed with the valuer's sales pitch and genuinely believed they would be the best firm to sell my home. The fact they had a relationship with Ryan property law also played a part, although that turned out to be a disaster, but that's a review for another day.
Experience of sales team - Georgia is so lovely and was a pleasure to work with. However, even after a week, the sole promotion strategy was pushing me to lower the price, which I eventually caved into and feel like I would have got more money had I gone with an approach suggested by a different agent.
I had over 30 viewings, which was exhausting preparing the house for. Most of these were time wasting - one definitely a pseudonym (why don't they ask for ID checks?) and at least 10 weren't actually people who were in a position to buy (not got house on market or it would turn out they'd offered elsewhere).
The buyers buyer (also buying through Hunters), was not vetted correctly or there was a big cover up. If there was a cover up, Hunters couldn't tell me, because they had such poor record keeping. I was sent evidence of some record keeping with regards to something else (hello GDPR breach!) and it was full of typos and omissions.
Sales progression experience was horrific. Thankfully they eventually replaced the person, as I could go on and on with my list of what she did that was totally unprofessional, but worst bit is she could have put my children at risk if it had been a DV situation, as she told everyone in the chain my new address and all the addresses of everyone in the chain, repeatedly. I repeatedly complained about her and they left it far too late to do anything.
Absolutely appalling and this estate agent caused so much additional stress to what was already a horrific chain. I would not recommend to anyone.

Samantha and Ellie were extremely professional and efficient. We were kept well informed throughout the process. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hunters to anyone looking to buy/sell .

Google5 stars for Hunters as cannot fault the team for their professionalism, courtesy and care during the sale of my property. Graham gave great advice from the start and both Samantha and Ellie were on hand at every step of the way. Sam exceptionally good at keeping the sale process moving and keeping the comms flowing well between all the parties.

GoogleThe initial meeting with Graham made the decision to go with Hunters a simple one. This was followed by a comprehensive setup and then Samantha and Ellie made the process of selling our house as straightforward as they could.
Whilst the legal journey had a few wrinkles, Samantha kept us updated and pushed things along as best she could. We would recommend Hunters Kendal estate agents.
Thank you

TrustpilotDreadful Experience
We booked valuation. Confirmed twice no show. She eventually came late at night & we fell for the speel.
Big mistake just full of empty promises.
No response to phone calls or emails.
17 days before first viewing.
Buyers were not vetted as we were told.
Some hadn't even got their house on the market. It was a truly horrible experience.
Finally got a offer £30,000 below asking price! THEN I had an long email telling me we should take it !
They are beyond rubbish.
They take on too many clients & cannot give you the time.
They don't even ask if appointment is convenient to you.
One word ....Jokers
Two words....Avoid Avoid
If I could give zero stars I would

Tried twice but no one every rings back.or follows up on enquiries. Once to rent a house and once to sell - 12 months apart.
The Skipton Hunters staff are rude and indifferent, rang a third time asking for an update and the Man was so rude - i would not use to sell.
If someone promises to call back and they don't on three occasions they are bothered.

I recently bought a property through Darren, and he was excellent from start to finish. He is a straight-talking, no-nonsense agent who tells it like it is and doesn't waste your time. He made the entire purchasing process smooth, transparent, and completely stress-free. If you want an agent who gets the job done without the usual fluff, I highly recommend Darren from Hayes branch

TrustpilotExcellent experience with Hunters
We had an excellent experience with Hunters from start to finish. Richard, Brenda and Adam were fantastic throughout the entire process - always responsive, easy to contact, and happy to help with any questions we had. Everything ran smoothly with no issues at all, and their professionalism and communication made a potentially stressful process much easier. We would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

Trustpilot5 star Estate Agents
We had issues with another local Estate Agent . Max at Hunters went above and beyond to prove good, in fact great , Trustworthy Estate Agents exist. Max went above and beyond to deliver an exceptional first class service, made everything easy to follow in laymans terms, and was a pleasure to interact with. Very efficient, superb service and exceeded our expectations. Hunters secured a buyer for our flat within 11 days and to exact Market Value they recommended.

TrustpilotOne of my worst experience buying a house from hunters
One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

Moving can be hectic, but Dulcie made it so simple with her support, prompt communication, and quick responses from the first viewing in Cullompton right through to the day I collected the keys. She was professional, reassuring, and always ready to help.
The team I met on key‑collection day was amazing, friendly, welcoming, and incredibly helpful.
Overall, a fantastic experience. Highly recommended.

We have dealt mainly with Ellie who is so very helpful, nothing is too much trouble she is definitely a valuable asset to the company. Having spoken and dealt with other staff members at Kendal I can honestly say that they are a wonderful team. Everything has gone smoothly and we are moving next week, a huge thank you to Hunters.

TrustpilotRude, poor service - a must avoid for renters
Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

TrustpilotHunters Letting Sutton Coldfield
Hunters Letting Sutton Coldfield have let my property for several years now. They have found excellent tenants that have been right for the property. I like their approach to communication and work. They have always been professional and efficient when dealing with me and finding new tenants. They are straight to the point and quick on the work in hand. The team are easy to communicate with and Sharon is exceptional. I have used several letting agents over the years and Sharon and her team are easily the best. I can not praise them enough.

Trustpilot⭐ 1/5
⭐ 1/5, “Here to get you there.” Couldn’t even get me as far as a viewing.
Absolutely ridiculous experience with Hunters Reading after speaking to Alex Warzecha.
I called simply to BOOK A VIEWING. I explained I’m a university student and didn't have a guarantor available at that exact moment, but could arrange one the next day. As soon as I said that, it felt like she wanted to end the call and I was told to call back when I had one.
I specifically asked whether I needed to pass referencing before viewing. Answer: no.
So why couldn't I view the property first and provide my guarantor tomorrow if I liked it? I was told words to the effect of: “We would just know you wouldn't be able to take the property anyway since you don't have a guarantor.”
Despite me repeatedly saying I COULD GET ONE TOMORROW.
After around 6, 7 minutes discussing my guarantor, including being questioned about why I couldn't use a previous one, suddenly came the plot twist:
THE LANDLORD DOESN'T ACCEPT GUARANTORS ANYWAY.
So why had we just wasted nearly 10 minutes discussing one?
The explanation? Apparently the manager wasn't sitting next to her earlier.
Apparently arranging a simple viewing requires a two-person support team, because once the manager appeared, we finally established the fairly important detail that the landlord didn't accept guarantors.
No manager nearby = I apparently need a guarantor.
Manager appears = landlord doesn't accept guarantors.
Brilliant.
When I questioned why my time had been wasted, I was then told her time had been wasted too.
I had to point out the obvious: you're at work and being paid for those 10 minutes. I'm a student using my personal time trying to find somewhere to LIVE.
I wasn't asking for keys. I wasn't asking to skip referencing. I WAS ASKING TO LOOK AT THE PROPERTY.
“Here to get you there.”
Perhaps more accurately:
“Here to get you there… once the manager sits next to us and we figure out where ‘there’ is.”
Absolutely shocking customer service.

TrustpilotAvoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs: slow, unhelpful, and focused only on landlords
I rent a property managed by Hunters Harborne. In my experience, they do the bare minimum for tenants and nothing more.
On 31 July 2026 I reported that the basin in the toilet had come away from the wall. I was told to log it on Fixflo, which I did. Two weeks later nothing had happened, so I chased. I was told they were "discussing it with the contractor" and would book the repair. Five weeks after that, still nothing. When I chased again, I got a reply saying the lettings team would pick it up "on Monday". Nearly two months after reporting a basic repair to an essential installation, it is still not fixed. I have now had to make a formal complaint just to get it looked at.
This isn't a one-off. When I needed a parking permit, the agency didn't know how to get one and asked me to find out myself. They only dealt with it after I insisted.
When the law on tenancies changed, they never explained what it meant for my own tenancy. All I got were generic leaflets describing the changes in general terms. For an agency that manages tenancies professionally, that isn't good enough.
To be fair, a few individual staff members have been helpful and have answered my emails promptly. But as an agency, in my experience, Hunters Harborne cares about landlords' interests and does only the minimum the law requires for tenants. Nothing happens unless you chase, and chase again.
If you're a tenant, avoid them at all costs if you can.
