Renting with Chesterton's has been the most stressful, dishonest, greedy soul-sucking housing experience of my life. They have been extremely uncooperative and maintained fraudulent stances in order to line their pockets despite being presented with extremely clear cut evidence. They have consistently refused to respond to communications, and have ignored official complaints made to their customer service department. I truly have nothing kind to say about this experience and hope somebody reads this and saves themselves a few years of stress and several grand in rent. Take your business elsewhere.edit: a week later and still no responses despite following up with numerous people. disappointed, but not surprised.
26th July 2024:Hi Bea, thank you for providing your details. We have since been in touch with the Property Management team to investigate further. We can see that your complaint has been responded to and you have been provided with details of how to escalate this further if you would like to. As outlined in our response, Chestertons role was to manage the tenancy and in this instance, the issues related to the building overall. The Landlady has offered you compensation for the inconvenience which affected the initial days of your tenancy in October but we understand that you have rejected this offer. We are sorry again that you experienced these problems and we are happy to help if you need further advice to pursue this matter further.3rd July 2024:Hi Bea, we're really sorry to see you have left this review. The Battersea Rise team, specifically Tamara Price and Rebecca Ross, were incredibly helpful, accommodating, and knowledgeable. Tamara was very flexible in making virtual meetings work, as I do not currently live in the area. From property searching to closing, working with Chestertons has been an easy and thorough experience, which made my moving process much smoother.

My property manager Vanessa (Battersea) has been very attentive, quick to respond to queries and take action on my behalf. There have been a couple of occasions over the last couple of years where things have not moved as quickly as my tenants or I would have liked, but since Vanessa took over it has been smooth. I would also add that some of the fees are a little steep, but I understand that this is the business model.

I have been with Chestertons for over 2 years now. I must admit that the initial experience was quite disappointing given that our property manager was unresponsive and not keen to help. However, for the last year we have had a new property manager named Joyce Pau who's been absolutely wonderful and very efficient when it came to sorting out a problem - definitely made the experience with this company much smoother and on the whole more pleasant!

We asked Chestertons to find tenants for our property in Kingston and they were very helpful and obliging. Within about three weeks new tenants had been found and references were taken up. The new tenants have moved in and all seems to be working well. We do the manage the property ourselves but whenever I have sent e mails or needed to check any details they have responded very quickly in a cheerful manner. I found Chestertons to be delightful to work with and very professional.
