Thanks Norman. Being a lettings agent based in East Sussex we 'bump into' lots of people we know in business be they Landlords or tenants and they are all worried alike about the Renters Rights bill and other changes in the lettings industry. However, the industry must prevail - people still need homes to live in and it is our job to guide the landlord and look after the property and the safety of the tenant within it - whatever meddling the government may try to do.

This tirade of abuse from #ChittarianNayak would seem to be regarding proposed deductions from a deposit when vacating a property managed by Woods Properties. It should be noted that #ChittarianNayak vacated the property some months before to return to India leaving his wife in the UK to see out the remainder of the tenancy and clear up and move out on her own. We had an independent impartial inventory clerk carry out a check in inventory and another carry out the check out, we carried out regular periodic inspections and works were carried out when required. Taking into consideration fair wear and tear during their one year of occupancy we found that the property was not returned in an acceptable condition with furniture not having been removed, cleaning not having been carried out to an acceptable level and the garden not returned to the state it was previously in, and deducted the costs of getting the works carried out from the deposit. This can of course be challenged if the tenant feels it unfair by the dispute resolution service. Instead of this #ChittarianNayak chose to write a google review which is both unfair and untrue when we have supported both #ChittarianNayak and Samantha throughout their Tenancy and tried our best to always accommodate their many requests. It should be noted that we have never scammed or harassed any Tenant or disregarded our responsibilities. Stating that our company has unethical practices is simply not true. We welcome all reviews if they are honest. We note that #ChittarianNayak has a recent history of writing one-star Google reviews and suggest that #ChittarianNayak considers his own current anger issues and the truth of what he is saying before putting pen to paper.

Both properties were let quickly and for amounts that I was happy with. So far the tenancies haven't run for very long but both sets of tenants seem very good.
I've dealt with Nigel and Julie who have both been very knowledgable, friendly, prompt and given me good advice along the way.
I fully recommend them.

GoogleI have been using Woods Properties since 2016 and have always found them to be professional, helpful and so easy to deal with. Nigel helped us to find and purchase our first property and then bring it up to an excellent standard from its derelict state. I feel a sense of pride as a private landlord that we brought a previously uninhabitable house back into use. My partner and I accompanied Nigel on several property inspection visits before investing and witnessed at first hand his kind but firm (where necessary) approach with the tenants. We now have three properties which Woods Properties manage and we have complete confidence that everything that should be done to comply with regulations is done on time. Also that where tenants raise maintenance issues they are dealt with promptly. Woods Properties also helped us to obtain a local government grant for works to one of our properties. On a personal note I now consider Nigel to be a friend and I cannot recommend him and his company highly enough.
