Renters beware

Rental property managed by this company on behalf of Hs2 on moving out half my deposit kept for issues not really fair, they wanted £20 for grass seed! As the lawn had died just one petty example, trying to get repairs done is difficult, they send individuals round who haven’t a clue, bodge job fix with promises to come back then never do, then charges on the tenant for issues that wouldn’t have arisen had the repairs been completed fully. The excuse - it wasn’t reported. Well have they tried their website?? Jobs reported but not actioned for weeks, when the emails are finally read, it’s all about the money and not the customers (renters). Would strictly not rent a property managed by this company ever again. They are not there for the tenants but solely to make money and for their landlords. Rented all my life moved a few times and always got all my deposit back in full. Until now.

I have been very happy with the process followed by Carter Jonas Wandsworth Common. Izzie has been amazing and showed me a few properties and really took the time to answer all my questions. It was the first time I had a nice chat with an agent where I didn’t feel forced and pushed to rent a property I didn’t like. We did love the flat and the offer process was very smooth and fast. Juliana has also been great with us on all communications, especially when setting up the contract. Our managing agent, Marta has been very welcoming and made our moving in process much easier! She is very responsive and made sur our property was ready for us at a very clean standard.

We have been working with Carter Jonas in Fulham (their office is at 361 Fulham Palace Rd) for over 5 years. Igor Simonov leads the team and Sam Jarvis helps us daily. They are very professional and very helpful. Very important for all landlords - and tenants as well for that matter - they are honest and trustworthy. Over the years we dealt with other estate agents, and were pretty much often discontent. I would highly recommend working with Carter Jonas, Sam, Igor and his team.

Deliberately trying to put off tenants with pets

I am trying to rent somewhere and have a dog. The new Renters Rights Act should make it easier, but Carter Jonas do the opposite. I was told today that they have a 'huge backlog of pet requests and it's taking around 1.5 months to get permission from a building manager' so no point even asking. Surely that's something that can happen in principle before a property is marketed? I believe they are using delays and unhelpfulness as a way of continuing to exclude tenants with pets.

Izzie was our first point of call from Carter Jonas who showed us the flat we were interested in and was very charming and informative. She managed to answer a few of our questions before we had a chance to ask them which was rare! The good service however didn't stop there, we are still due to move into the flat and have had several email exchanges with Juliana and the property manager Marta who I have found are also extremely informative, responsive and altogether friendly. Although we are still due to move into our flat shortly, I do feel like we will be well looked after by the team during our tenancy and they have made the process quite seamless and stress-free. Highly recommend them.

We met with a number of estate agents when getting our flat valued, and Jamie immediately stood out as he was very straightforward, genuine and did not try and schmooze us.
