We sold and purchased a property through Douglas Allen earlier this year - never again! Before we got started, the sales manager handling our sale attempted to orchestrate the signing of the contract so that we lose our right to cancel the agreement, they aggravated our vendor to the point the manager of the wanstead branch was moved, they lacked tact and compassion when negoiating our sale, to a point we had to apologise to our buyer on their behalf, and as for the quality of marketing, our 2-year old could have done better job. We ended up writing the property description and overseeing the photographer ourselves as the first attempt was so poor. They certainly weren't worth the £8K commission!

Robert Stiff promised such a wonderful service. The photos were bad, the write up not much better, had to show many people round myself and once an offer was accepted that was it for ages. Then I received some illiterate emails where it took a while to decypher what was being said. They were no help in getting the offer to exchange and were more concerned about the buyer than myself (who was paying their vastly over-inflated fee). The sales progressor knew nothing about the process and kept forwarding wrong information. I complained to Robert Stiff who ignored my complaint - rude, arrogant and lazy. Disgraceful organisation. Avoid.

At home on own with two very young children and they said they would accompany viewings - never happened. Sometimes felt very vulnerable showing groups of men around my home. Seem to do nothing for their very high percentage of my sale beyond post the property on RightMove. Some viewers clearly not briefed on the house. Difficult to get hold off and rude and threatening manager (Rob Stiff) when I requested to be released from the Sole agency agreement. Not nice at all.

Had to get important paperwork witnessed and signed for the sale of my late brother’s house.Went in to Douglas Allen Barkingside. Their manager, Andy Dumas signed my paperwork. He was very friendly and helpful. Dealing with my late brother’s estate has not been an easy journey.I greatly appreciate all the help received from Douglas Allen in Barkingside.
