Poor quality viewings and service

The Clapham branch sales negotiator was late for the viewing and didn’t ask anyone from the office to notify us (15 minutes late). He had also double booked the appointment, the entire booking was a bit of a disorganised mess. There was a fair bit he wasn’t aware of and generally wasn’t that helpful. The specifications I gave weren’t followed in the viewings. I was ignored when asked if I wanted a broker and my contact information was shared when I had asked for it not to.

Jane Crosland guided us expertly through the process of selling our family home, gave brilliant advice and her experience in pricing and marketing were invaluable (and spot on). Absolutely disgusting service

Absolutely disgusting service, they come across very professional when they value the house, but once its on the market the staff are unhelpful and take days to answer emails. The details were incorrect online as it was put live without us agreeing the details, the pictures were awful and the one thing we did make them change. There has been no effort to sell the house, only having one viewer in two months. Only to find out that the contract is for 4 months too, devastated. Stay away from this company.

I recently needed a tenant for a vacant property and came across Kylie and her exceptional service. It started as a quick phone call with Kylie where she quickly got to grips with details of the property, what was needed and how soon. She reassured me she would be able to help and I was not disappointed. Kylie was able to quickly find a tenant for me and took the time to tailor her communication style with me as she understood my busy lifestyle and how I prefer to keep in touch. The service was absolutely seamless and hassle free from my perspective and whilst it seemed so overwhelming at the time, Kylie was exceptionally calm. I have reached out to Kylie since after thinking I needed a tenant for another property at short notice and it only took a quick message for the property to be on the market within 1-2 hours and 4 viewings lined up. DO NOT TRUST BAIRSTOW EVES, Property Rented Without a Valid Licence

I am writing this to warn other families. My family and I have experienced nothing but stress and chaos since renting a property through Bairstow in May 2026.After moving in, we discovered to our horror that the property was let without a valid property licence. When we raised this serious legal issue, the agency completely absolved themselves of responsibility, blaming the landlord. Under UK housing law, letting agents have a strict legal duty to verify and ensure proper licensing is in place before letting a property.The customer service at this branch is shockingly unprofessional. Particular staff members, Mehmet, Rejaul, and Exene, are completely evasive. They take weeks to respond to emails and refuse to answer the phone. On the rare occasion we do manage to speak to them over the phone, they make empty promises to send over details, only to go completely silent and ignore all subsequent emails.Avoid Bairstow at all costs if you value your peace of mind and legal safety. They take your money and completely abandon their legal obligations.

Stacey was available to answer our questions and any documents we were uncertain about, were printed and explained in-branch. All of the staff we came across when visiting the branch were humble and happy to help. There were no long waiting times. If we dropped in unexpectedly, Stacey provided the same level of service with a smile. We used Bairstowe Eves Mortgage Advisor, Qadeer, who explained everything clearly and was great to interact with. Also used Countrywide Solicitors and the process from Mortgage Offer to Completion was swift, having used everything in-house, it did prove to be beneficial.

My boyfriend and I have had nothing but trouble working with this letting agency. When trying to call them I had to repeat call around 16 times before someone answered. We put a holding deposit on a rental property which was then "taken off the website". We passed all credit checks and had references from our employers to prove our income. This was done very quickly, we were pressured to get this done ASAP as the landlord wanted someone in the property before the end of the month. A week followed and we didn't hear anything. An ad for property reappeared on the company's website and zoopla, however we hadn't been contacted and were very confused. I called them (took 12 calls) and spoke to Ben who had no idea what was going on with the property and only said "we're negotiating with the landlord". Another 3 days passed with no news and finally I managed to contact Meg who was the agent we had the initial viewing with. She informed us that the landlord had pulled out and offered us a far more expensive property which we refused. Meg assured us that as it was an issue with the other side we would receive our holding fee back. Over two weeks later and we are still waiting for our holding deposit after being told we would recieve it by Friday. We're unable to contact anyone at the office as calls are cut off after one ring. Avoid using this company for rental properties. It's not worth the hassle.
