GoogleWe recently bought a house through Allen and Harris. The vendor required the sale to go through quickly and we were concerned the sale would fall through otherwise. Our agent Ken drove the whole thing through effortlessly. He was very relaxed and down to earth when showing us around and didn't apply any pressure. I purchased a house with Allen and Harris. Michelle dealt with it all. She was very professional, a lovely lady. Polite and nothing was too much trouble. Sometimes I spoke to other staff in the office. They were all very pleasant to talk to, always answered anything. I would completely recommend going to Allen and Harris for all your needs to buy or sell a house. The rental side is also great to deal with.

GoogleI recently purchased a house with Allen & Harris Estates Agents Wallingford Branch and they were exceptional from start to finish. They were welcoming and their communication was second to none which meant that the process actually felt effortless. I have bought properties in the past with different estate agents but none have even come close to the service provided by the team at Wallingford. I would highly recommend them to anyone and would definitely use them again in the future.

Awful service by Allen & Harris. Booked in 2 viewings back to back with them... got there and no one was around. When I called, they told me that the second property had gone already and that someone should have rang me and cancelled the whole appointment (I guess they'd just decided not to do it?!). No one had and they had no answer for why that was the case. The woman on the phone was nice and offered to drop everything and come out to me in around 15 mins but I had other viewings booked in and had to move on.They also said they'd keep in touch with me about new properties coming on the market... I was keeping an eye out and saw various new ones that were suitable and never heard a peep from them.

GoogleAfter a bumpy start the service we received whilst selling our house was great. Phillip answered all of our questions thoroughly and checked in with us regularly. We mostly corresponded with Gemma, who was brilliant. If we had an inquiry, she got on to it immediately. She kept us updated throughout and was really helpful. We were very anxious and impatient sellers and A&H dealt with this expertly. The sale is still going through but I know Gemma will do everything to ensure it progresses smoothly. Thank you.

GoogleI have recently viewed two houses with A&H, once with Sasha and once with Jessica, unfortunately neither of the houses were quite right for me so I am still looking, but I did want to write a review about my experience. On both of my viewings, the agents were on time, were knowledgable about the house and the local area, suggesting ways I could get to work most conveniently and also recommending schools and clubs for my son. I like to ask lots of questions and not once was I met with a 'I don't know' which was so refreshing after so many viewings left with unanswered questions. It was so nice to see two agents so passionate about the properties they were selling and I wouldn't hesitate to use or recommend A&H to my friends!

On Friday 29 April we went to Allen & Harris (A&H) to arrange the sale of our house and paid the required marketing fees. Over the weekend we changed our mind and went straight back to the branch at 10am on Monday 2 May (bank holiday) to cancel. We were told that “as nothing had happened yet (i.e. the photographer/surveyor were not arranged), we would be entitled to a full refund”. We spent the next 8-9 weeks trying to get our money back but were continually fobbed off with excuses and lies...the system is down…it should be paid soon…it should be in your account in a few days…it will take 3-5 working days…, none of which happened. Despite 12-15 emails some of which were not replied to, several phone calls and visits to the branch, the delay in paying this refund just got longer and longer. We asked for the contact details of a senior person with whom we could register a complaint but this was never provided. On Friday 17 June we contacted Resolver, an online consumer complaints company and raised our complaint through them. They emailed our complaint to A&H customer services department in Leighton Buzzard. (At no time did the branch inform us that such a place existed.) A member of staff from this department then started to communicate with us trying to resolve this issue by expediting the payment of our refund. This involved yet more emails and phone calls. However, even then on one occasion they did not call us back when promised. Eventually, on 28 June (58 days after we cancelled) we at last received our refund in our account. This whole fiasco proved to be very frustrating and stressful and if this is an example of A&H’s customer service, we are very glad that we changed our mind when we did and did not proceed with our sale. I will be relating this whole saga to as many people as possible to highlight the way we were treated and the ridiculous delay to payment of a refund which should have been accomplished in days as originally promised, not months. We would definitely NOT recommend this company to anyone.

GoogleI wouldn’t recommend Allen and Harris at all. The communication was appalling, they caused panic and stress by giving false information and failed to check whether our buyers required a mortgage or not resulting in more delays and our chain nearly collapsing on multiple occasions. Definitely avoid this company

A&H had to deal with one of the most difficult, awkward and obtuse sellers ever, my ex-wife. Despite her offending most of the team, they stuck with it, through thick and thin, and pushed the sale over the line. They were always brilliant, friendly and professional with me. Big kudos to Charlotte and Michelle for putting up with the terrible treatment, you never gave up! Thank you so much!

When it comes to honoring commitments and customer service, Allen and Harris is the worst company to deal with. I've paid for my lease agreement but for the past 4days, it hasn't been treated. I've called more than 20times but no one is picking up. Seems they close by 12noon everyday now. Terrible Terrible bunch. Wouldn't recommend them.

They are scammers. We paid a holding fee for a property to move on the 12th. They told us no on the 10th and kept our money £279. It is clearly a tactic they use since agency fees are gone. You let people pay a holding fee then tell them no and keep their money.Please don’t go for them. Scammers

I booked a viewing of a property at Auchinleck, East Ayrshire at 2pm on Wednesday 9th February. Estate agent appeared five minutes late with the wrong keys; access to the property was not possible. The person blamed a colleague for giving her the wrong keys. Performance of Allen and Harris deemed unprofessional. One star rating not deserved.

He's not only professional and reliable, he has been proactive in communicating throughout the process - invaluable when agents and solicitors are so busy. Terrible company, refusing to organise viewings because we refuse to register with full details, no estate agent is a member of any professional governing body, so why trust them with your personal data, i asked them to sign an NDA agreement, they refused to sign, knowing this, i now know they would sell and abuse my personal infromation, Avoid!!
