Lupset is a very financially stretched community, it's had libraries and children's centres closed due to budget cuts. Many of the local people objected to this development and it has caused untold misery to those living close to the building site. The roads are now a mess and what used to be beautiful fields are now what will be someone's new homes. The fields served as a buffer between the motorway and the houses so people living there didn't have to suffer the noise of the motorway, fail to see why this has changed and houses were allowed to be built there, money probably . There are only two local schools that are stretched to capacity and turn local children away so they have to travel as far as Sandal to attend school. The local doctors surgery has 5000 patients, spend an hour some mornings trying to get an appointment and it means that almost half the time I don't get an appointment. Wakefield is a dying town, businesses are closing weekly. Its a nice idea to want to bring fresh blood to the community but we are already spread so thinly with the local services that I wonder what will happen to the children and families that live in these houses..... Time will tell I suppose. The woodlands at the side of the build are also unkempt and unmaintained by the local authority, people tend to go there to dump rubbish, have fires, seen teenagers riding their off road motorbikes there at all hours and there are shooting targets up around the woods, even found air gun pellets embedded in the trees. Know that the kids build dens and have campfires in the woods which is a hazard. It is a shame as a nice walking spot would be lovely but again due to cuts its just left to go to pot. This new development is very close to the motorway, I wonder how they will sleep at night.... Maybe they have triple glazed windows and super thick walls. They will have too.

Terrible isn't the word. So many problems keepmoat aren't bothered once they have your money! It's the house that Jack built. Thrown up no right angles in rooms faulty kitchens plaster work literally plastered on not straight like you would expect with a new home. Car charger opposite end to the drive way! The list goes on and on....What a joke do not buy!

Moved here in 2020 and absolutely love it. Was hesitant after living close to a town centre before but do not miss it one bit. A short walk to supermarkets with access to fields and nice walks into Horbury or Ossett. Rarely hear the motorway but I’m at the top end of the development so cannot speak for everyone. Great for transport links and the neighboured is very friendly. Glad I moved here and see us living here for a long time

As a former resident of Snapethorpe Gate I moved to Leeds whilst waiting for my property to be built on Elm Tree. I lived on Snapethorpe Gate for 17 years where my family still live. All the reviews are from people who live in the houses backing onto Elm tree. Everyone who has given it a bad review is because they rather look onto the old field than young people be able to afford a new house in the area where they grew up.

My advice when buying a property on this estate is consider the resale value. A bit of research on the Airedale Heights development next door proves how much of a struggle it's going to be recouping the value paid for these houses. Not to mention the length of time the property will be on the market. Unfortunately you have to drive through the visibly poverty stricken surrounding area to get to the estate which leaves a lasting image on potential buyers. Avoid at all costs if you have any intention of moving on in the futureNegativeQuality, Value
