My wife and I relocated to Shrewsbury in April 2023. We found a delightful dormer bungalow through shropshire lettings. We dealt mainly with Rupert, what a delightful man. Everything was completed very efficiently, and quickly via e mail and telephone as we lived in north Birmingham at the time. We are so glad that we found Rupert and his company Nothing is too much for them We have no complaints at all

Rupert is a complete star ! I had my property on the rental market with another agent for six months and they utterly failed to find a Tennant. Within one week, yes one week, Rupert and Chris found the ideal tennants. I have since asked them to find more tennants since and they always deliver within days ! Rupert has a magic way of matching tennants to properties. He is quite simply brilliant. Eccentric yes but he really knows his job ! Love this company !!!!!

I agree with those who found Rupert to be arrogant, patronising - and grossly incompetent. I was desperate for a property and rented one he had on his books: it had exposed bare, live, wires in the kitchen - right next to the sink, from which I received an electric shock. It had no barrister on the stairs - the example given on every 'landlord liability for accidents on their property?' site. I slipped and cracked a rib and permanently damaged one knee. It had vermin-infected roof, bedroom, rear 'study' conservatory, kitchen and shed. No internal doors closed properly; it was the coldest, draftiest, house I have ever encountered (medieval-style open hearths in both downstairs rooms) and the 'study' was so wet it actually grew a mushroom on the carpet, as well as covering an internal wall in black mould. Rupert claims to be a member of the RICS: if that is the case, my letter to them requesting an inquiry into what I consider to be his gross professional incompetence and criminal negligence should soon end that. Avoid, avoid, AVOID!! Edit: RICS have no members with a first name of Rupert in the area (according to their web-site) Shropshire Lettings Ltd is not, as far as I could find, registered at Company House The 'kitchen' at this property had no power-supply for a cooker, either - so I lived there for 12+ months with nothing but a kettle, open fire (which smoked so badly you have to leave the windows open when lit!) or BBQ on which to prepare hot food.

Direct - Professional - Amicable Have looked into various letting agencies in shrewsbury when enquiring about renting somewhere nearby, and cannot fault this place for its professionalism, and the quality of the properties they had available. The entire letting process was explained to us clearly, and frankly made me realise how little info i had got in the past when i had previously rented out! Owner was very clear about what we would need to move in and the specifics of the tenant vetting process. The property looked great in the pictures and we were ready to put a deposit down then and there but rather than take our cash, they asked us to please view the property to make sure we were completely happy with the place first, cash could come second. I found that kind of attitude really refreshing. Circumstances have forced us to reconsider moving to a new rental property at this time, but i have zero doubts about where i will be going in future - FIVE STARS!

Though I had a relatively short stay with Shropshire lettings (just 9 months) I had a great experience with them. I rented a room in a shared building through Shropshire Lettings in the center of Shrewsbury. The Room I rented was fine in terms of condition and the location was fantastic. The only problems I had were with some of the other tenants in the building. However Shropshire lettings quickly delt with the problems I had and overall were very supportive, so much better than any of the other lettings company's id had back at university. Id recommend Shropshire lettings to anyone looking for affordable and well placed accommodation in or around the Shrewsbury area.

If I can give you one piece of advice. Run Away!!!! The unfortunate side of the Shropshire Lettings is the way they treat their customers. In particular how one member of staff (Rupert) treats the customers. As one of the previous reviews mentions. Call the company, if you get through to the man who is the cause of many issues with the firm, it'll take you less than 5 minutes talking to him to realise what sort of person you'll be dealing with if you go with this agency. It took us about 2 years to get used to his attitude and we still find him quite insulting. If you can deal with that then well done, your more patient than me. I did originally put up a negative review about the company many months ago, after the owner of the business was quite insulting to myself and my girlfriend. This was when we went into the office to try and resolve some issues which had been dragged out for months. He was very dismissive and it was obvious he wasn't listening/didn't care about the solutions we were suggesting to resolve the problems we were having with the apartment (mainly no hot water and no isolation fuse for the plugs). During this meeting he openly insulted my girlfriend and although the conversation did get heated, I pointed out he had a number of negative online reviews so there is a majority of people that think he is the cause for many company faults. If he hadn't been so rude and insulting and offered a solution to resolving the problem or called the landlord/left a voicemail infront of us we would have felt reassured and left straight away instead of causing a heated row.

In a word 'Awful'. Having identified a property I was interested in viewing, I walked in to Shropshire Lettings to enquire. I was greeted by a very pleasant member of staff, had barely started talking only to be rudely interrupted by a scruffy man I believe is the owner of the business. He basically ridiculed my application, was rude and condescending to his staff and really just didn't sell himself, his business or the property I was interested in very well. However, based on the photographs, written description and literature given on the property I decided to make an appointment to view it. I can only describe what I saw as very disappointing and extremely misleading. The photographs and descriptions given depicted a very well presented apartment in a relatively new development. I was quite excited by the prospect. What was actually on offer was very different. The property was disgustingly filthy and in a very poor state of repair, I'm no expert, but I'd say bordering on health hazard. I could write an essay on what I found, but won't bore you with the details. I approached Shropshire Lettings to ask if I could see the property once it had been vacated and perhaps cleaned up and repaired only to be rebuffed. Needless to say I will not be pursuing my interest and because of the attitude with which my enquiry was handled, feel inclined to talk to the Advertising Standards Agency about gross misrepresentation. AVOID!!!

We have been renting a property through this agent for just over 2 years and my fiance and I can't speak highly enough of Rupert and the company in general. The few problems we have had with the property have been dealt with in a very speedy and professional manner. The electricians, plumbers and workmen he uses are of an equally good standard. If for any reason we had to leave this house (which we sincerely hope we don't) then we wouldn't hesitate to go through them again and probably wouldn't consider any other agent because of past horrendous experiences with previous agents and landlords.
