GoogleA very bad experience buying our Bellway house. 3 weeks since moving into our property and recently had a meeting with the construction manager to discuss and express our concerns regarding the condition of the property we had purchased. The meeting didn't go very well at all starting with a very insincere apology followed by all our issues being met with "well at the end of the day it's a new build". When we advised we didn't accept this as an excuse for poor workmanship and lack of care, accompanied with disruption to our daily life as we were unable to build or move in our new furniture or unpack our belongings due to dealing with multiple contractors carrying out works most days he couldn't seem to understand how this was a problem for us. We got the impression he didn't want to have a meeting with us at all and it's seemed like a formality for him. As the discussion progressed we started to get frustrated as we didn't seem to be making any progress and felt he didn't care at all. We then discussed the topic of compensation for all the issues we have faced that are very much still ongoing and he walked out in the middle of the conversation stating he would be in touch the next day, 5 days later and still haven't heard anything from him. Prior this meeting we had been dealing with the new site manager and our sales representative to work through the snags. This had started to feel like things were finally getting somewhere and putting our minds at ease but since the meeting with the construction manager we feel like we have lost confidence in Bellway. He seemed proud of the product he was selling which is advertised as 5 star however we feel it's very much below par.

GoogleDO NOT BUY A HOUSE WITH BELLWAY. We moved into plot 51 at Summerhill View last week, and it has been a nightmare. The houses look beautiful from the outside, but inside they are not up to standard. Our completion day was the 31st of May. We were advised to give them one week to go through the snag list. We told them that we were happy to wait longer if necessary, as we didn't want to be rushed into moving into a house that wasn't ready. They assured us it wasn't necessary and that the property would be ready on the 8th of June. We arranged everything to move on the 8th, but to our surprise, when we arrived, the house wasn't ready to live in; none of the repairs had been done. The entire house needs repainting because the walls are full of scratches, dents, and holes. The skirting boards are all scratched. The flooring is not properly sealed and is full of paint marks. Tiles are cracked in the bathroom. However, this is not the worst part. Our nightmare started the next day when we discovered that every time we tried to use something in the house, it wasn't possible. We wanted to have a bath, but there was no hot water. We tried to cook breakfast, but we couldn't because the cooker wasn't connected to the gas. We attempted to use the dishwasher, but the pipe that lets the water out was hidden behind the sink cabinet, so we couldn't see it. We pushed to double-check that it was connected and, since it didn't move, we assumed it was. When we switched it on, water started leaking behind the kitchen cabinets. Now our kitchen cabinets have water damage, and we cannot see if the walls behind the cabinets are damaged. These are just some examples; our snag list is endless, and we are likely to find more issues. Now, we need to deal with all the contractors to come and repair the property. We are taking days off work just to be at home and show them what needs to be repaired. We don't have anywhere else to live while the repairs are being done. So, we need to live in this unfinished home that is causing us stress and anxiety.

GoogleVery disappointed with Bellway - Summerhill Way, after we arranged a viewing of a 4-bedroom show home. Downright rude, uninterested and very unhelpful. We walked away feeling unimpressed.
