GoogleWe have just bought a house through Hamptons and the service that we have received over the past few months from Deborah Hancock has been absolutely fantastic! Estate Agents don't always have the best reputation but Deborah has totally blown that out of the water and shown us the difference that a pro-active, efficient and helpful Estate Agent can make to a house buying experience. She has progressed the sale every step of the way and kept in touch with our solicitor, ourselves, our vendor and the other agents in the chain fantastically. Our own agent was entirely useless in comparison so we know who we'll be contacting if we ever decide to sell our new dream house. Thank you Deborah, you've been GREAT!

TrustpilotHamptons Property Managers
We have been renting through Hamptons since April 2022. Our property managers (we have had 3 during that time). Katie Tucker our first and Lucy Pickles our current, have always been helpful and responsive, with any issues been dealt with speedily and professionally. We are grateful for their continued communication and assistance. Lucy is a great asset to the company!

TrustpilotExcellent service
We had been with Hamptons for more than 2 years and I would like to send my great appreciation for their exceptional service. Especially to Ms Harleigh Doherty who had been our property manager. She was always prompt with just about everything that we had concerned about. Had the property was not put on sale, we will definitely be staying and wouldn’t think of moving out. Thank you so much for all the help and outstanding service!

Trustpilotwe've got very negative experience as tenants, the agent was lying to us, causing us quite a lot of anxiety.
TLDR: we've got very negative experience as tenants, the agent was lying to us, causing us quite a lot of anxiety. After reference check, and accepted offer, the landlords kept delaying signing the contract for over 3 weeks. The agent (Evelyn Aragundi) communicated to us that there are no reasons for the delay, and motivated the delay with very interesting arguments "so we have everything confirmed", "they are really relaxed personalities", "they're currently travelling,", "they're very busy people", "there's no reason for this as such, I mean it's not like they're unsure". After some very involved week, we've got an email from a manager (James White) of the agent saying that "date was a bit vague until a more conclusive timeframe was confirmed".That clearly demonstrated that agent lied to us, stating that "so we have everything confirmed" while it was not. We wont make an offer in the first place, if we knew that. Worst of all, during the process we've seen no intention to clearly comunicate situation to us, and no intention to find a solution that would work for both parties.

GoogleFiona Bradfield and the team at Hamptons provided fantastic customer service while I was hunting for a house to rent. Her professionalism and friendliness made house hunting a pleasure instead of a chore, and she was so helpful, even showing me a property that was yet to come on the market. I wish more landlords would use Hamptons to market their houses, it would make life so much easier for the tenants! Thanks Fiona, I look forward to house hunting again next year.

TrustpilotAssumingly a "large" company but plays "dirty little" tricks wasting buyers and vendors time
We wish having seen the review titled "As untrustworthy as they come"The Canary Wharf office of Hamptons did the same to us. They confirmed in WRITTING the acceptance of our offer last Friday. We provided IDs and proof of funds on the same day that they were happy with. However, 1st thing on Monday morning they say the solicitors acting for the Vendors accepted another offer when Solicitors do not even work during the weekend. Worse still, the offer was put forward by the same office which is really odd as the property was marked SOLD on the portals already. So we echo the feedback below:As untrustworthy as they come. When making an offer on a property we found that they just simply used our offer to create a false market where there was previously no other bidder despite property being on the market for some time... Outcome being some one else has also clearly been misled and ended up paying over the odds for a property based on games. We even made the offer that they say the vendors would accept. Now they say someone offered much higher once THEY told the new buyer that some one else made an offer being accepted already hence the property is off the market. What Hamptons is playing here, is encouraging Gazumping which is bad for all parties. Not surprisingly some of their other transactions fell through thus, Vendors lose out on sales and time. Buyers and vendors wishing to work on fair market price should be wary of this dirty games as some one definitely gets hurt by wasting time and money unnecessarily.

TrustpilotSalisbury disappointing
If the Salisbury office functioned in the way we were initially promised, and as the web site and brochures suggest, then our sale would have gone a lot more smoothly and faster. It was shocking to find the first two viewers in the 4 days since listing whisked away to view an off-the-market, discreetly available property before they had returned for their second viewing with us. I gave notice to terminate the contract at that point. I am not paying Hamptons nearly £10,000 to sell someone else’s house.A sale was arranged however the chain involved was not exactly as portrayed to us and this eventually created difficulties and delays.Problems further up the chain are not the responsibility of Hamptons but when these were resolved I phoned and wrote to Hamptons specifically asking for the lower end of the chain to be reconfirmed and checked for completeness. Despite promises that they had I discovered 3 weeks later that emails were sent but not followed up, and we encountered further delays whilst the bottom end of the chain dealt with pre-contract issues that should have been resolved months ago and on one of the many likely days for exchange of contracts renegotiated their price.Hamptons bill was sent to my conveyancer about 10 minutes after exchange of contracts. Good to see they are efficient in some areas if not others. We met some very nice people at Hamptons including one who was really impressive. But Hamptons really need to make sure all their delivery lives up to all their promises.

Ellie Marsters is a Property Manager at Hamptons. She is in a league of her own, when it comes to responsiveness, taking accountability to get things done and being engaged with both the tenant and landlord. Having had some experience with other Property Managers in other companies, I would recommend anyone to seek out the services of Ellie at Hamptons.

GoogleLooking for a house with very limited time and specific needs, we found Hamptons not only were willing to show us all that was on offer , but when we clarified what we did and didn't want, after a few viewings, they then went the extra mile to dig into their resources and found a property that wasn't even on the market at the time - and it was the perfect fit. It showed us that they were not "just another" estate agent but an agent who thought hard and long on which property would work - and it did . The follow through and support during the buying process was clear and helpful and very professional but not pressurised. Thank you Deborah!

GoogleHaving found a new build property which my husband and I had fallen in love with, we needed to sell our house very quickly. We contacted three estate agents in Tunbridge Wells and explained that we were willing to do as they asked if they definitely had people they could contact and who were free to move quickly without a chain. We were assured by all three that this was indeed possible. However Hamptons not only said they could, but acted by making an appointment the very next day. James Cairn arrived, looked around and asked if three other colleagues could also come to the house the following morning, before they were able to take the photos and description of our house, so that they could describe the house over the phone to potential buyers.
Hamptons had five potential buyers at our house within two days. We had a firm offer on the house within four days, from a young couple who were living in rented accommodation locally and at the original price which Hamptons had advised us of in the beginning.
By contrast, we received a letter from one of the other estate agents three days after we had received our firm offer to ask if they could view!
We were kept up-to-date regularly by Debbie Cobbold, who liaised with our solicitors, our new build company and the buyers, whose house I think Hamptons had also sold, informing everyone where we all were in the sale. She also gave us excellent advice about removal firms. The rest of the team were equally great, in that if Debbie or James were not available they all chipped in and you felt everyone worked very much as a team.
I know of two friends who are subsequently moving through Hamptons, who are equally impressed, both selling their houses in days, Both are being able to move into houses they have found and want, as we did.
I don't often give reviews, however, on this occasion I really feel Hamptons deserve this one. They deal with very stressed people every day and never seem to lose their cool. They find time to talk to you and make you feel that you are their only client, when you know they are rushed off their feet. James Farmer, thank you for the advice about the iRobot carpet cleaner, it is working beautifully, alongside the Braava floor cleaner and the robot mower. Like Hamptons I couldn't do without them.

GoogleWe chose Hamptons because of James Cairns calm and realistic valuation of our house, his local knowledge was invaluable.
We cannot praise James and his team highly enough, their attention to detail and professionalism was made even more obvious when we were viewing houses through other Agents. They took the trouble to learn about our very old house and we left everything to them.
Debbie, Carla and Deborah were amazing when we were away, and they did everything for us, often walking around the extensive grounds in torrential rain.
Debbie Cobbold (our Negotiator) really did a fantastic job in a very challenging situation and we are eternally grateful; she really did 'go the extra mile'.
We would recommend Hamptons to anyone wanting professionalism with the personal touch.

GoogleThe team at Hamptons Tunbridge Wells are fantastic. They offer a very friendly, yet professional service and I have used them for two house sales.
The staff are extremely knowledgable and all the sales staff visit new properties taken on to their books to ensure that they can provide prospective purchasers with accurate information and really sell your home.
We have found that purchasers have been well matched to our property and time wasters weeded out! All viewings have been accompanied and we have received honest feedback.
Andrew Farmer has been spot on with his valuations and Debbie Cobbold is an amazing negotiator, who always manages to close the deal. She has many years of experience and can offer invaluable advice.
I can't speak highly enough of this agency and will definitely use them again in the future if needed. I strongly recommend Hamptons to all!

TrustpilotGazumped
We made an offer on a house that was managed by this agency. Weeks later, after not removing the advert, we were told a higher offer had come in (we had been gazumped) and that the seller would accept it unless we matched the offer. After taking time to consider our options we agreed to match the higher offer, only for the seller to accept the new bid. This agency allows gazumping to happen and will involve themselves in a private auction to benefit the seller. Be warned.

TrustpilotSo far, no complaints
We have been tenants in a flat managed by Hamptons and have been very happy with the service that they - Ellie Marsters in particular - have provided thus far. Ellie is very responsive, well-organized and professional. Worth saying that we have not gotten to the deposit withdrawal phase, which several reviews complain about. But, so far, so good.

Fantastic service. At every stage we have had nothing but the best from them. A particular shout out to Trevor Scott. TrustpilotShort-term rental of property
Hamptons managed a 12-month rental of my property whilst I was abroad. From the first meeting with Andrew who visited my property intially, it was a pleasure dealing with them. They were clear, prompt to reply to questions and very helpful on the whole process which put my mind at rest - especially as I was not going to be in the country! The daily management with Minneaux and then Natalie could not have been better and nothing was too much trouble.I thank them for their professional attitude and helpful manner and would recommend their service without hesitation.

TrustpilotTerrible
Sometimes beautiful flats or houses are in the hands of terrible agents; be careful! As tenants, they only come to you when they need you to do something. You can hardly contact any of them when you are looking for help. The renting agent ghosted after all documentation was done, leaving me a flat with much to fix. When moving out, they were supposed to contact me in advance for at least 24 hours, but most did not. They told me the people I hired for end-of-tenancy cleaning were not professionals (because I wasn't using one of their business partners) and had the inventory clerk go in before the cleaning was done; they allowed people to move around your items when they were doing the viewing.
